Abstract

The heavy metal mercury is at risk of disrupting brain development in children if it accumulates in the human body. The aim of the study was to determine the content of heavy metal mercury (Hg) in Climbing perch fish (Anabas testudineus) originating from Rawa Taliwang Lake to enrich the Ecotoxicology course material. The special benefit is to protect consumers who consume fish from heavy metal contaminants. The research was conducted in Rawa Taliwang Lake, which is in an area submerged in water. There are 2 research stations, namely in the eastern and western parts of the lake. Gill nets were used to catch fish. Fish samples were taken 3 to 4 times at each station. The Fish species taken was the Climbing perch fish (A. testudineus). Furthermore, each fish sample was put into a plastic bag and then stored in a sample box. The research sample was then analyzed at the Environmental Laboratory Center for the West Nusa Tenggara Environment and Forestry Office. The method of data analysis was carried out by taking muscle tissue from fish and then analyzing the content of heavy metals in the form of Hg using an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). The wet destruction stage in the destruction sample is the process of degradation of organic material samples by utilizing strong acidic liquids, namely HNO3, as a destructive agent. The data obtained are in the form of Pb heavy metal levels in ppm (parts per million). The next stage is that the Pb concentration obtained is processed descriptively and then displayed in table form according to the AAS results. The conclusion of this study is that the heavy metal content of Hg in Climbing perch fish (A. testudineus) originating from Rawa Taliwang Lake to enrich Ecotoxicology course material was <0,0001 ppm.

Abstract

Scientific Reasoning and Scientific Attitude are important aspects of scientific literacy for students to master because they are directly related to the development of science and technology. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Problem-Based Learning model on students' Scientific Reasoning and Scientific Attitude abilities. This type of research is classified as a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent control group design. The study population consisted of 13 classes of the 10th grade of MAN 2 Mataram, from which two classes were selected as samples determined by purposive sampling techniques. Data were obtained by administering the Scientific Reasoning test and the Scientific Attitude questionnaire. Data analysis techniques include a comparison of average scores and the Mann-Whitney statistical test. The results showed that the experimental class obtained an average score of 75 points (formal), and the control class obtained a score of 72 points (transitional) on the Scientific Reasoning aspect. On the Scientific Attitude aspect, the experimental class obtained a score of 69 (High) and the control class obtained a score of 63 (Moderate). In addition, the Asympt. sig (2-tailed) value on the Scientific Reasoning aspect is greater than 0.05, which is 0.466, while on the Scientific Attitude aspect it is 0.003 or less than 0.05. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that although the Problem-Based Learning model has a significant effect on Students' Scientific Attitude Ability, its impact on Scientific Reasoning Ability is not statistically significant in the context of this study. This can be influenced by external factors that cannot be fully controlled in the research implementation process.

Abstract

Mathematics is often considered an abstract subject because it involves concepts and symbols that can be difficult to understand directly or physically. However, using animated media such as Powtoon can help overcome this abstraction and make mathematics learning easier to understand and interesting by creating Powtoon-based animated learning media. Powtoon is a popular animation platform used to create presentations, promotional videos and other animated videos. With Powtoon, you can create attractive animations using various graphic elements, characters, and transition effects. In the research that has been done before, many studies say that to overcome boredom so that students are motivated while learning, the use of learning media is considered to make students easier to understand the material and make teaching and learning activities carried out more efficiently in implementing the learning process, especially in learning mathematics is by make interesting learning media. This study aims to analyze the use of Powtoon learning media on students' learning motivation in learning mathematics. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis using library research. The data collected is the result of searching electronic journals through the library's Google Scholar. From the research results of 15 relevant articles, it shows that the Powtoon animation learning media is useful for increasing students' learning motivation in learning mathematics

Abstract

Research on the heavy metal lead (Pb) is important to protect consumers from dangerous heavy metal contamination. The main objective of this research is to determine the levels of Lead (Pb) metal in the body of Tilapia Fish (Oreochromis mossambicus) obtained in Taliwang Lake. The results of this study are useful so that consumers of Tilapia fish can avoid fish that are contaminated with Pb heavy metals. Data collection for this research was carried out in Taliwang Lake. It was determined that there were 2 stations in this research, namely in the eastern and western parts of the lake. Fish were caught by using gill nets. Four fish were taken at each research station as samples. The next stage, the Tilapia fish samples were wrapped in plastic samples, which were then placed in sample boxes. The destruction of tilapia fish muscle samples was carried out in the Mataram University Analytical Laboratory and the Pb content analysis was carried out at the DLHK Environmental Laboratory West Nusa Tenggara. The Pb metal content was analyzed by using an AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer) tool. Measurement of this heavy metal was carried out by adding concentrated HNO3 and HClO4 then heated at a temperature of 60 - 70ºC with a time span of 2-3 hours until the solution became clear. The solution sample was then measured with an AAS tool using an air-acetylene flame. The conclusion of this research was that the content of heavy metal Lead (Pb) in the tissue of Tilapia Fish (Oreochromis mossambicus) taken from Lake Taliwang waters was 0.0005 mg/kg (ppm).

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) compare the osmoregulatory physiological adaptation and survival of Goldfish (Cyprinus carpio) and Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) after exposure to seawater. 2) Increase the understanding of animal physiology course material, especially on the topic of osmoregulatory physiology of aquatic animals. Osmoregulation is an essential biological process that allows organisms, including fish, to maintain the balance of water and ions in their bodies. This process is closely related to homeostasis, which is the ability of the body to maintain internal stability despite changes in the external environment. This study uses an experimental design method. The research design involved two different treatment groups, one for goldfish (Cyprinus carpio) and one for Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), with each treatment replicated ten times. Each fish sample was exposed to seawater by placing it in a plastic bucket containing one liter of seawater. The release of the fish into the treatment medium was done simultaneously. Survival time was observed and recorded from the time the fish was exposed until it died. The breathing rate was observed by counting the opening and closing of the operculum for the first 5 minutes after the treatment for 1 minute, with the counting repeated every 5 minutes for 1 minute until the fish died, and then averaged. The data were analyzed using a t-test at a significance level of 5%. The t-test result showed t_observed = 24.232 > t_table = 2.101 at the 5% significance level with 18 degrees of freedom (df). The significance value (2-tailed Sig.) was 0.000, indicating that the difference between the two groups was highly significant (p < 0.05). This study concluded that Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) has a longer survival time compared to goldfish (Cyprinus carpio) when placed in seawater. The average survival time of Nile tilapia was 78.3 minutes, significantly longer than goldfish, which only survived for 16.8 minutes.

Abstract

Abstrak: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat melalui program pendampingan pengelolaan sampah plastik menjadi BBM Mesin Diesel dilaksanakan dengan misi utama untuk mengatasi pencemaran lingkungan dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat di TPS 3R Jeron Berseri Nogosari Boyolali. Selain itu kegiatan tersebut untuk menerapkan ilmu dan teknologi demi peningkatan pelayanan kepada masyarakat serta produktivitas di TPS 3R dimaksud. Fokus masalah yang diselesaikan pada pengabdian ini adalah mengatasi sampah plastic yang makin hari kian menumpuk agar bisa dimanfaatkan untuk bahan bakar mesin diesel bagi petani setempat guna mengoperasionalkan traktor bajak sawah. Solusi pada permasalahan ini adalah dengan melakukan pendampingan, penggunaan dan pemberian mesin pirolisis yang digunakan untuk memproses sampah plastic menjadi bahan bakar alternative mesin diesel. Pemanfaatan bahan bakar mesin diesel, sosialisasi pengelolaan sampah agar tidak mencemari lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan untuk pelaksanaan adalah dengan analisis situasi dan kondisi mitra dilapangan transfer teknologi tepat guna, kegiatan pelatihan, pengawasan, pendampingan serta evaluasi tehnis pelaksanaan kegiatan maupun keberlangsungan kegiatan program. Hasil dari pelaksanaan pengabdian ini adalah, TPS 3 Jeron Berseri sudah bisa memproduksi sampah plastic untuk di proses menjadi bahan bakar mesin diesel yang bisa dipergunakan untuk mesin diesel tractor bajak sawah yang bisa dijual kepada masyarakat sekitar dan anggota pemakai jasa pengelolaan TPS 3R Jeron. Pelayanan pengelolaan sampah di TPS 3R Jeron Beseri Nogosari Boyolali, makin hari makin meningkat dengan adanya metode pengolahan sampah plastic menjadi bahan bakar diesel melalui proses pirolisis tersebut. Masyarakat makin tergerak untuk menyetorkan sampah rumah tangganya khususnya plastic untuk diproses menjadi bahan bakar dan tidak lagi di buang disembarang tempat yang akan mengganggu lingkungan Sehingga bisa meningkatkan perekonomian warga.

Abstract

This research aims to develop and test the feasibility of the Skyflash Tricking Academy application as a training media for the sport of tricking for extracurricular students at SMK Darussalam Karangpucung. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a simplified Borg & Gall model. This application contains tricking material from basic to advanced levels, complete with videos, photos of the steps, and supporting theories. The research sample is determined using a multistage sampling technique with a snowball pattern. Each stage of field testing uses different samples. The operational field trial is the final development testing phase that uses a larger sample size than the initial and main field trials. This research and development use descriptive data analysis techniques. The results of the validation and trials indicate that this application is feasible to use and can enhance students' motivation and skills in tricking practice.

Abstract

Studi ini menganalisis efektivitas latihan plyometrics dalam meningkatkan akurasi shooting pada pemain Sekolah Sepak Bola (SSB) Dakota Surusunda, Kecamatan Karangpucung. Identifikasi masalah awal menunjukkan bahwa pemain memiliki keterbatasan dalam ketepatan shooting ke gawang serta kemampuan tendangan lambung yang kurang optimal. Tujuan esensial dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menginvestigasi pengaruh metode latihan plyometrics terhadap peningkatan ketepatan shooting pada tim tersebut. Penelitian ini mengimplementasikan pendekatan eksperimental dengan desain one group pretest-posttest, melibatkan 20 pemain sebagai sampel. Data kuantitatif dianalisis untuk menilai perubahan yang terjadi. Temuan signifikan dari penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa latihan plyometrics secara substansial meningkatkan ketepatan shooting pemain, dibuktikan dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000, yang lebih rendah dari ambang batas 0,05. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa intervensi latihan plyometrics memberikan efek positif dan signifikan terhadap peningkatan kapabilitas shooting dalam konteks sepak bola.

Abstract

PkM (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat) ini mempunyai tujuan guna memberdayakan kepemimpinan visioner untuk mewujudkan program kerja kesehatan yang efektif di Desa Cihowe, Ciseeng, Bogor. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif yang melibatkan tenaga kesehatan sebagai narasumber dan pengurus Pemberdayaan Kesejahteraan Keluarga (PKK) Desa Cihowe sebagai peserta. Kegiatan PkM meliputi penyampaian materi terkait PHBS (Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat) di tingkat rumah tangga serta konsep kepemimpinan visioner dalam keluarga, diikuti dengan diskusi dan perencanaan program kesehatan partisipatif. Berdasarkan survei yang dilakukan kepada para peserta tentang pelaksanaan PHBS di tingkat rumah tangga, perilaku mencuci tangan dengan sabun dan air bersih, telah dilaksanakan 100% dari responden. 80% responden menyatakan sudah mengelola makanan dan minuman secara aman dan sudah mengelola sampah dengan benar. Sedangkan untuk perilaku menggunakan jamban sehat, 73% responden menyatakan sudah melaksanakannya. Untuk perilaku melakukan aktivitas fisik secara teratur, hanya 60% responden menyatakan sudah melaksanakannya. Secara keseluruhan, hasil dari kegiatan PkM ini memperlihatkan adanya pemahaman peserta terkait peran pemimpin visioner dalam keluarga untuk mendukung pelaksanaan PHBS di tingkat rumah tangga. Diharapkan, pemberdayaan ini dapat menjadi katalisator dalam meningkatkan adopsi PHBS dan kualitas kesehatan masyarakat di Desa Cihowe.

Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in shaping high-quality human resources. However, observations at SMA Negeri 5 Mataram revealed that students are less motivated to participate in classroom learning. This is evident from students' lack of attention to the teacher’s explanation and their difficulty in understanding the material. One of the main causes is the use of monotonous, teacher-centered learning methods. This condition calls for innovation in teaching, such as implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model, which is designed to improve students’ motivation and conceptual understanding. This study aims to analyze the effect of the problem-based learning model on students’ learning motivation and understanding of biological concepts among Grade X students at SMA Negeri 5 Mataram. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group, involving an experimental group and a control group with both pretest and posttest. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, with class X6 as the control group and class X7 as the experimental group. The instruments used were a questionnaire to measure learning motivation and an essay test to assess conceptual understanding. The data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test, which showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. These findings indicate that the problem-based learning model has a positive effect on improving both learning motivation and conceptual understanding. A good understanding of concepts can enhance students’ confidence in learning, thereby increasing intrinsic motivation. With strong motivation and conceptual understanding, students tend to achieve better academic outcomes and are more prepared to continue learning and adapting to future challenges.
