Abstract

Abstract: The mistake in problem-solving indicates the presence of the cognitive structure parts, which are problematic. One of the causes is thinking structures that need to be better organized and connected or experience cognitive mistakes. This study aims to describe students' thinking structure mistakes in solving PISA questions and the efforts to correct these mistakes through defragmenting thinking structures. This study uses a qualitative approach. This study uses a qualitative approach, including data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. Based on the results of the study, the mistakes of the students' thinking structures in problem-solving to finish the PISA questions were experienced by all subjects, including students misunderstanding the problem, mistakes in devising a finishing plan, carrying out a finishing plan, and rechecking process. These mistakes are influenced by several reasons, including the need for literacy skills in reading the meaning of the questions, not focusing on essential instructions on the questions, mastery of understanding the concept of prerequisite material, mistakes in operating, and the structured and analysis errors. The defragmenting process is carried out to correct students' thinking structure mistakes in problem-solving through intervention processes including scaffolding-review, scaffolding-restructuring, scaffolding-explaining, cognitive conflict, and dis-equilibration. Keywords: defragmenting, problem, question, structure, solving, thinking Abstrak: Kesalahan dalam pemecahan masalah menunjukkan adanya bagian-bagian struktur kognitif yang bermasalah. Abstract

The advancement of technology has revolutionized student learning, shifting from traditional textbooks to digital tools, reducing teacher-student interaction, and impacting students’ perspectives and attitudes. Students with extreme religious views sometimes rely more on digital resources than traditional ones. This study examines: i) the effect of learning resources on students’ religious attitudes; ii) the influence of social status on their attitudes; iii) the relationship between students’ motivation for religious learning and their attitudes; and iv) the interaction between diverse learning resources and social status on students’ religious attitudes. Using quantitative methods and multiple regression analysis on data from 1,020 students in Central Java, Indonesia, and employing partial least square (PLS) modeling, the study explores the influence of religious resources, social class, and motivation on students’ views. The findings show that diverse learning resources significantly foster moderate religious attitudes, with social class also playing a pivotal role. Notably, students’ motivation for religious learning mediates the relationship between learning resources and social class in shaping religious attitudes. This study contributes to educational theory by highlighting the role of learning resources in shaping outcomes, social theory by demonstrating how socioeconomic factors influence religious attitudes, and religious theory by exploring the role of digital tools in shaping religious views. These insights provide practical implications for educators in designing effective religious education strategies and promoting moderation in the digital era while emphasizing the importance of face-to-face learning for meaningful dialogue.

Abstract

This study investigated the carbonation potential of peridotite from the Kolaka Ultramafic Complex in Sulawesi, Indonesia, for carbon capture and storage (CCS) applications. Peridotites, particularly those enriched in magnesium, are known for their high reactivity with CO?, forming stable mineral carbonates. However, the Kolaka region’s peridotites have not been thoroughly assessed for their carbonation prospects. This research addresses this gap by examining the petrology, geochemistry, and physical-magnetic properties of peridotite, focusing on its serpentinization and carbonation characteristics. An integrated approach applying petrographic analysis, X-ray fluorescence (XRF), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Schmidt hammer, and magnetic susceptibility tests, was used to determine the mineral composition, specifically the carbonation minerals, and the changes in the physical properties of the rocks during carbonation. The results showed that the peridotites, particularly serpentinized lherzolites, exhibit high carbonation potential characterized by the abundance of magnesium-rich olivine-pyroxene minerals. Carbonation reactions are characterized by the presence of magnesite and brucite, leading to significant changes in rock strength and magnetic susceptibility. Carbonation occurs by an advanced serpentinization process, which increased mineral reactivity and leads to reducing uniaxial compressive strength (UCS). Additionally, magnetic susceptibility exhibits positive correlation with serpentinization, accompanied by magnetite formation. These findings suggest that Kolaka's serpentinized peridotite, as mining waste, is a viable candidate for CO? storage. The ex-situ carbonation mechanism allows Kolaka's fine-grained peridotite to capture CO?, while also improving nickel ore recovery, minimizing dust, neutralizing acid mine drainage, and enhancing soil quality.
