Abstract

Indonesian law reform faces persistent challenges stemming from fragmented human resource capacity, which undermines the coherence and effectiveness of justice delivery. This study critically examines the interplay between human resource development and the success of legal reform in Indonesia, emphasizing the urgent need to address systemic inefficiencies and skill gaps. As globalization and complex socio-legal issues demand more sophisticated legal systems, the pressure on Indonesia’s legal institutions to enhance their human resource capabilities has intensified. The novelty of this research lies in its focused analysis of human resource capacity as a critical yet underexplored dimension of Indonesian law reform. By employing a socio-legal methodology, the study identifies key factors contributing to fragmentation, including uneven competency levels, inadequate training, and lack of coordination among legal institutions. It further evaluates the role of education, professional development, and policy frameworks in fostering a coherent and competent legal workforce. The findings demonstrate that a robust, well-coordinated human resource strategy is essential for advancing legal reforms and delivering justice effectively. This research contributes to the discourse by proposing actionable solutions, including curriculum reforms, capacity-building initiatives, and collaborative networks among legal practitioners, academics, and policymakers. By addressing the critical gap in human resource capacity, this study provides a pathway for achieving a coherent legal system that upholds justice and aligns with Indonesia’s broader development goals.

Abstract

Education plays a strategic role in preparing superior human resources to support the Golden Indonesia Vision 2045. Teachers play a central role as the spearhead of improving the quality of education, with achievement motivation being an important factor influencing their professional quality and performance. Unfortunately, this motivation is still relatively low, as seen from the lack of teacher participation in self-development, learning innovation and professional programs. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence teachers' achievement motivation, both internal (self-efficacy) and external (principal leadership, school organizational climate, and academic supervision). The study was conducted on 268 public junior high school teachers in the ex Kawedanan Candiroto area, Temanggung Regency, Central Java, using a total sampling technique. The variables studied include achievement motivation as the dependent variable; principal leadership, school organizational climate, and academic supervision as independent variables; and self-efficacy as a moderating variable. Data were collected through a closed questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, then analyzed using SEM-PLS through the SmartPLS program. The results of the analysis show that all independent variables have a positive and significant effect on teacher achievement motivation. In addition, self-efficacy acts as a moderator that strengthens the influence of the three external variables. Implication of this finding

Abstract

The presto milkfish business activities in Tambakrejo Village are hampered by floods and tidal waves. Floods and tidal waves result in decreased productivity, disruption of the flow of goods and services, and damage to supporting infrastructure. One of the business units affected by the flood and tidal waves is the Enaxmen UMKM managed by Mrs. Kurnia ( Target Partner). Based on information from partners, the disaster that occurred became a serious threat because it greatly disrupted production activities, even at certain times it could not produce because there was no supply of raw materials. The period of 2020-2021 when Covid-19 occurred was a major blow to partners because of the decrease in turnover and production by more than 50% . The problem , based on the conditions above, is that partners are very vulnerable to shocks (disasters) that occur, especially since partners also do not have standard procedures in dealing with these problems . Another problem is that partner marketing is still limited in scope, on the other hand, partners also do not have the capacity to promote products, so that it indirectly has an impact on low product branding. The capacity of Tambakrejo Village MSME actors in managing their business through the implementation of the Business Continuity Plan has increased well . This can be seen from the increasing understanding of MSME actors in planning business continuity amidst the potential for natural disasters . This needs to be done considering that the Tambakrejo Village area is an area that is very prone to flooding, tidal flooding, and fires . MSME actors have also understood online marketing to increase the capacity of the products produced.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of gamification on financial knowledge through student enjoyment and student engagement. This study employed a quantitative approach and used a survey to examine the relationships between variables. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, with 289 students who have previously received financial education at a public university participating as respondents. The research instrument utilized a questionnaire developed based on prior studies. The results were tested using Variational Bayesian Structural Equation Modeling (VB-SEM) to analyze the influence between variables. The findings showed that gamification had a positive impact on student enjoyment and student engagement. This study demonstrates that gamification does not directly influence students' financial knowledge. Student engagement fully mediated the effect of gamification on students' financial knowledge, whereas enjoyment does not affect students' financial knowledge. This study underscores the importance of fostering student engagement in gamification to enhance financial knowledge. The implications of this research include strengthening student engagement through various strategies, such as apperception, motivation, and interaction during the use of gamification in financial education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of task complexity and task difficulty on knowledge retention through cognitive load. Previous studies have been largely outcome-oriented, focusing on student performance without examining long-term knowledge, thus leaving a gap for research that specifically elaborates on knowledge retention. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional research design was employed. Using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error, the study involved 246 undergraduate students majoring in financial management from public universities located in Semarang, Surakarta, and Purwokerto, selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the variance-based structural equation modeling (VB-SEM) approach. The results reveal that cognitive load has a negative and significant effect on knowledge retention (β = -0.492, t = 4.167, p = 0.000). Task complexity shows a positive and significant effect on cognitive load (β = 0.300, t = 4.326, p = 0.000), but its direct effect on knowledge retention is not significant. Similarly, task difficulty has a positive and significant effect on cognitive load (β = 0.341, t = 4.628, p = 0.000), yet it does not directly affect knowledge retention. The findings indicate that both task complexity and task difficulty have negative and significant indirect effects on knowledge retention through cognitive load. These results demonstrate the importance of proportional instructional design, particularly the segmentation of complex content into smaller units to manage cognitive load. The use of educational technology is recommended to design tasks and instructional materials that align with students’ cognitive capacities, thereby enhancing knowledge retention.

Abstract

This community service program aims to educate village residents on the importance of waste separation and processing, implement simple circular economy-based technologies, and establish a community-based waste management system. A participatory approach is carried out through awareness campaigns and training on household-level waste sorting, environmental campaigns through schools, communities, and social media, as well as incentive programs for residents actively involved in waste management, such as waste bank initiatives. The outcomes of this program are expected to create a cleaner and healthier village environment, improve the community’s economic well-being, and support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Furthermore, the program is intended to serve as a replicable model for waste management in other regions with similar characteristics.

Abstract

This study explores how corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the energy sector can move beyond short-term aid to become a strategy for long-term community empowerment. Using a qualitative case study of the ME–Rumah Asri program in Hilir Muara Village, the research positions women as central agents of change. The study aims to map the empowerment process, assess the social, economic, and environmental outcomes experienced by residents, and link them to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 8, 11, and 17). Data were gathered through in-depth interviews and document analysis; thematic analysis was applied by extracting core ideas, clustering them into themes, articulating inter-theme linkages, and validating findings with informant while maintaining source triangulation and research ethics. The findings highlight three key insights. First, programs designed with early resident involvement foster self-confidence, strengthen decision-making capability, and build a sense of ownership. Second, tangible outcomes include additional household income, stronger social cohesion, and everyday pro-environment habits. Third, empowerment functions as the bridge between CSR interventions and sustainability outcomes, while reinforcing the company’s social legitimacy to operate. A noted challenge is initial dependence on corporate support; thus, a phased transition plan, stronger community/enterprise institutions, safe financing access, and diverse marketing channels are needed. Overall, when energy-sector CSR is framed as women-centered empowerment within cross-stakeholder partnerships, both social impact and sustainability improve, and program benefits endure.
