Abstract

Eel (Anguilla bicolor bicolor) rearing activities that develop in Indonesia generally still use a large volume of water. The application of a recirculation system reduces water requirements and at a small volume of water, the load on the container to accommodate water becomes lighter so that several containers can be arranged vertically. This study aims to determine the best water volume in eel rearing with a recirculation system on production performance. This study used a completely randomized design with four treatments and three replications. The treatments, namely the difference in the volume of water (VA) used in the maintenance container, included VA 2.5 L (A), VA 3.5 L (B), VA 4.8 L (C) and VA 5.8 L (D). Eels were reared for 60 days in an aquaverticulture system with a stocking density of 10 fish per container. The test parameters in this study included survival rate (SR), specific growth rate (LPS), absolute weight growth (PBM) and feed conversion (FCR) and coefficient of final weight diversity (KKb). Other parameters analyzed include water and land use analysis. The results showed that aquaverticulture with multilevel containers on eel produced the best water volume of 5.8 L with high production performance (100% survival, specific growth rate 1.60%/day). The volume of water needed to produce 1 kg of eel for 1 year is 27.69 liters and the productivity of aquaculture land is 86.14 kg/m2. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this system design has been applied on a laboratory scale, but has not been applied commercially in the community.

Abstract

Produksi ikan patin (Pangasionodon hypopthalmus) di beberapa daerah belum optimal, diperlukan kegiatan transportasi ikan dalam rangka meningkatkan produksi patin di berbagai daerah. Daun bandotan (Ageratum conyzoides) diketahui memiliki kegunaan dalam transportasi ikan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis penambahan daun bandotan terhadap peningkatan kualitas air media dan sintasan juvenil ikan patin pada transportasi tertutup. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap terdiri atas tiga perlakuan dan tiga ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari kontrol (K), perlakuan dosis 1 g/L (B1), dan perlakuan dosis 2 g/L (B2). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penambahan daun bandotan 1 g/L mampu meningkatkan kelangsungan hidup paling tinggi. Hasil histologi insang pada dosis tersebut ditemukan abnormalitas berupa fusi, hemoragi dan teleangiektasis.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the internal and external environment as well as the right strategy for Raja Ampat Regency in the process of developing fisheries in Capture Fish cultivation. The research method used is the questionnaire method and in-depth interviews using FGD to obtain the SWOT variable (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunisities , Threats). The results showed that the strength of the Raja Ampat archipelago consisted of strategic geographical position, high potential of aquaculture, available cultivation land, and available labor. While the weaknesses consist of limited seed log size, fish mortality caused by disease, low water quality management, limited trash feed, limited capital, low skills, knowledge of cultivation technology, and limited access to markets. Opportunities for grouper farmers in Raja Ampat district consist of high fish prices, wide open market demand, increased income of coastal communities, absorption of labor, regional autonomy, RTRW / RTWRPL / Kab. Zoning Plans. Raja Ampat, National Policy in fisheries development. While threats consist of climate change / season, lack of market guarantee, determination of quality standards for aquaculture products, low capital support, safety, environmental pollution, and lack of enforcement of RTRW regulations for fisheries cultivation development. In this case, the right strategy in this case is maximizing strength in taking advantage of opportunities, taking advantage of opportunities to suppress weaknesses, maximizing strength to avoid threats, and suppressing weaknesses and avoiding threats.

Abstract

Aplication of pumpkin skin flour Curcubitae sp. to improve of the water quality performance and support shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei growth, it necessary to do an analysis. Pumpkin skin Curcubitae sp. as a source of stimulants needed by bacteria to survive in the nitrification denitrification processes in aquaculture as an alternative to environmental friendly with bioremediation system evaluation. Its mesophilic nature and a organic ions source for bacterial growth. Pumpkin skin can support the growth and activity of nitrifying denitrifying bacteria in the environment. This study aims to determine the best of dose of pumpkin skin as a biostimulator of nitrifying denitrifying bacteria growth. The treatments used were pumpkin doses of 0%, 2%, 4%, 6% for 20 L culture water. Giving pumpkin flour can improve the performance of abundance and activity of nitrification denitrification bacteria. The activity of nitrifying bacteria can be seen from the presence of ammonia value which is relatively more stable compared to other treatments. The best oxidation of ammonia in 6%, and reduction nitrite in the 4% treatments. The treatment of 4% was effective in maintenance for 30 days which could maintain the stability of water quality and increase the growth of vaname shrimp.

Abstract

Budidaya udang vaname di tambak dilakukan semakin intensif untuk memenuhi tingginya permintaan. Intensifitas kegiatan budidaya menyebabkan peningkatan beban limbah yang dihasilkan. Limbah tambak udang berupa dalam bentuk padatan lumpur organik dan senyawa-senyawa nutrien terutama nitrogen dan fosfor dalam jumlah yang tinggi. Tingginya kandungan limbah ini menyebabkan permasalahan bagi lingkungan perairan diantaranya yaitu pertumbuhan pesat mikroalga. Limbah yang dihasilkan dari kegiatan budidaya udang di tambak perlu diatasi diantaranya dengan memanfaatkan limbah tersebut untuk budidaya kerang darah. Kerang darah merupakan organisme filter feeder dan detritus feeder yang hidup pada substrat lumpur dengan pakan utamanya yaitu mikroalga. Kerang darah juga menyerap detritus yang mengandung senyawa nutrien untuk pertumbuhan. Limbah tambak udang yang mengandung lumpur dan senyawa nutrien berpotensi digunakan untuk budidaya kerang darah. Budidaya kerang darah dapat dlakukan dengan cara co-culture dengan udang vaname pada tambak produksi udang, pemeliharaan kerang darah pada tambak IPAL udang atau menempatkan limbah tambak udang pada tambak budidaya kerang darah. Upaya pemanfaatan limbah tambak ini selain untuk meminimalisasi dampak limbah bagi lingkungan juga meningkatkan produktivitas kerang darah.

Abstract

Kampung Perikanan Desa Patra Tani is located in Muara Enim Regency, precisely in Muara Belida district, a location that was once a place for aquaculture but the lack of care and management in that location has now become neglected. The objective of this research is to analyze the feasibility of land and make a master plan in Kampung Perikanan Desa Patra Tani, Muara Enim, South Sumatra as a location for aquaculture. Field observation activities include indirect (in situ) and direct (ex situ) water quality measurements at five observation stations, soil sampling, mapping using GPS, and market availability surveys. The results of data analysis on water quality using the scoring method show that in Kampung Perikanan Desa Patra Tani tends to be in the S2 class (moderately suitable) meaning that it has a few limiting factors in the waters so that several treatments are needed before cultivating. One of the commodities that are suitable for cultivation is tilapia because of high market demand is suitable to fill the shortage.

Abstract

Ikan soro (Tor soro) merupakan salah satu komoditas ikan air tawar yang berpotensi besar untuk dikembangkan guna memenuhi gizi masyarakat. Keberhasilan budidaya ikan soro dipengaruhi oleh faktor kualitas air. Kualitas air sebagai media pemeliharaan ikan soro dapat menurun dengan cepat karena aktifitas yang dilakukan oleh ikan seperti sisa feses dan sisa pakan yang mengendap didasar air. Penggunaan zeolit dalam pengolahan air merupakan salah satu cara untuk mengurangi zat pencemaran yang terlarut dalam air. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 30 hari pada Bulan Februari hingga Maret 2015 bertempat di Instalasi Penelitian Plasma Nutfah Perikanan Budidaya Air Tawar Cijeruk Bogor. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 (empat) taraf perlakuan, masing-masing perlakuan dilakukan 3 (tiga) kali ulangan, yaitu P1 (Zeolit 25% dan pasir), P2 (Zeolit 50% dan ijuk), P3 (Zeolit 75% pasir dan ijuk), dan P4 (Zeolit 100% pasir dan ijuk). Wadah yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah akuarium yang berukuran 40 cm x 25 cm x 30 cm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa P3 (Zeolit 75% pasir dan ijuk) memberikan nilai kualitas air terbaik yaitu suhu 28-30°C, pH 7.4-7.6, DO 4.58-5.76 mg/l, dan amonia 0.01-0.06 mg/l dan memberikan hasil terbaik yaitu pertumbuhan panjang sebesar 12.28 cm, pertambahan bobot sebesar 8.87 gram dan sintasan sebesar 100%.

Abstract

Abstract. This objective of the research was to compare the number of blood worm production using catfish cultivation waste, while the water from catfish cultivation flowed to blood worm cultivation with recirculate system. This research were used 3 treatments and 2 replications, the treatment was  2, 4 and 6 containers of blood worm. The results showed that the highest water quality and biomass was 6 containers treatment with 1.4 kg m-2 weight gain.Keywords: Catfish; silk worm; waste intensive farming. Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa perbandingan jumlah bak budidaya cacing sutra dengan memanfaatkan limbah budidaya lele sistem intensif terhadap kualitas air ikan lele dan produksi cacing sutra, dimana air dari media budidaya ikan dialirkan ke media pemeliharaan cacing sutra  dengan sistem resirkulasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 3 perlakuan dan 2 ulangan, perlakuan yaitu Pemanfaatan 2 bak, 4 bak dan 6 bak cacing sutra. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbaikan kualitas air budidaya lele dan produksi bobot biomassa tertinggi pada perlakuan 6 bak  dengan pertumbuhan berat sebesar 1,4 Kg m-2.Kata kunci: ikan lele; cacing sutra; limbah lele

Abstract

The grey-eel catfish is a highly valued fish species in some parts of Indonesia. The fish is common in brackish water of estuaries, marine and freshwater habitat. They are not are not usually catched in commercial scale because of the limited population in its habitat. Although the status is not evaluated, the fish is predicted facing extinction in several countries. We conducted a study to examine the biological information and reproductive biology of the fish in Kota Langsa to gather information that can be utilize to evaluate reproductive status of the fish in several habitats. Parameters tested in the study includes sex ratio, length-weight relationships, candition factor, size at first maturity fecundity and reproductive potential of the fish. Research results provide information that the fish follows negative allometric model with constant condition factor throughout the study. The catches were relatively young fish which have not reached maturity stage. Fishes in the class sized at 510-550 mm provide the largest contribution to total eggs production. To ensure sustainability of the fish it is advised that the fish must catched at size larger than 550 mm.
