Abstract

Abstract Islam has already given the principles of management in the Holy Qur’an. Management that is considered to be one of the most important subjects of modern times is also derived from the knowledge that the Holy Qur’an has given us. Many of its principles and theories that are made in sixteenth or seventeenth century are derived from the knowledge that The Holy Qur’an has given us centuries ago. There are some verses in the holy Qur’an on management; these verses should be studied for explaining the managerial view of the holy Quran. One of that principles is planning. The planning is the function of management that involves setting objectives and determining a course of action for achieving those objectives. The planning is a process begins with environmental scanning which simply means that planners must be aware of the critical contingencies facing their organization in terms of economic conditions, their competitors, and their customers. Planners must then attempt to forecast future conditions. These forecasts form the basis for planning. This article will discuss about the planning, as one the function of management, according to Surat al-Anfâl/8 verse 60. Allah said, “Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power including steeds of war to strike terror into (the hearts of) the enemies of Allah and your enemies and others besides whom ye may not know but whom Allah doth know. Whatever ye shall spend in the cause of Allah shall be repaid unto you and ye shall not be treated unjustly.”

Abstract

This study addresses the urgent need to counter religious radicalization by examining how religiosity, academic culture, and learning environments shape moderate Muslim character among Indonesian graduate students, aligning with national and global peacebuilding goals. Using a quantitative approach, data from 147 postgraduate students at UIN Raden Intan Lampung were analyzed via Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS). Results revealed significant positive effects of religiosity (β = 0.41, p < 0.001), academic culture (β = 0.34, p = 0.001), and learning environment (β = 0.22, p = 0.003) on fostering moderation, collectively explaining 53.9% of its variance. Religiosity emerged as the strongest predictor, underscoring its role in cultivating inclusive attitudes, while academic practices (e.g., critical discourse) and supportive learning settings reinforced tolerance and anti-violence values. The findings propose an integrated model where spiritual, intellectual, and environmental dimensions synergize to nurture moderation, offering actionable insights for educators and policymakers to design holistic strategies against extremism. However, the single-institution sample limits generalizability, necessitating future studies across diverse universities and, qualitative explorations of contextual factors like socio-economic dynamics or media influence. By bridging theoretical and practical gaps, this research advocates harmonizing higher education systems to empower moderate Muslim leaders, advancing Indonesia’s multicultural harmony and contributing to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on peace. The study underscores the imperative of embedding inclusive pedagogies and values-driven academic cultures to sustain social cohesion in pluralistic societies.

Abstract

Sufism spiritual education faces challenges in combining traditional values with modern dynamics, especially in the context of multicultural Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the role, competence, and guidance strategies of mursyid teachers within the framework of maqāṣid al-syarī'ah to bridge the gap between the practice of Sufism and the goals of Islamic syarī’ah. This qualitative research uses a thematic analysis of transcripts from Indonesian scholars' lectures on YouTube, which were selected based on their credibility and relevance to the theme. The data were strengthened by triangulation of classical Sufism texts and consultation with experts. The analysis was carried out through thematic coding to identify patterns related to the role, competence, and guidance strategies of mursyid teachers, then contextualized with the framework of maqāṣid al-syarī'ah. The findings show that mursyid teachers play a crucial role in maintaining spiritual integrity (ḥifẓ al-nafs) and doctrinal adherence (ḥifẓ al-dīn). The core competencies include mastery of syarī’ah, taẓkiyah al-nafs skills, and legitimacy through ijāzah. Adaptive guidance strategies, such as a personal approach and dhikr discipline, have proven to be effective in aligning the practice of Sufism with maqāṣid al-syarī'ah. This study affirms the importance of integrating the framework of maqāṣid al-syarī’ah in the training of mursyid teachers to strengthen the pedagogical effectiveness and ethics of guidance. The implications include recommendations for the development of maqāṣid-based curriculum and capacity building for mursyid in the face of multicultural challenges. This research contributes to the revitalization of Sufism education that is relevant to the needs of the modern era.

Abstract

This article presents an in-depth study of the movements of Shalat (Islamic prayer) as a form of spiritual epistemology, particularly from the perspective of the concept of Nur Muhammad. This research adopts a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method, designed to carefully explore and interpret the symbolic meanings contained within each posture and transitional movement of Shalat. Its primary objective is to understand how this series of physical movements functions as an effective means of acquiring profound and authentic spiritual knowledge. The study's findings reveal significant insights: each movement in Shalat represents systematic and essential stages in the human spiritual journey towards closeness with God. This spiritual journey is fundamentally rooted in the concept of Nur Muhammad, understood as the primordial light of creation, the first entity created by Allah, and the origin of all manifestations in the universe. Thus, Shalat is not merely a ritual, but a symbolic "mi'raj" (ascension) that allows the worshipper to align themselves with this original light. This research is expected to make a substantial contribution to deepening the understanding of the esoteric and philosophical dimensions of Shalat, moving beyond its literal interpretations. Furthermore, this study also aims to enrich the treasury of Islamic epistemology by offering a new perspective on how the practice of worship can become a path towards the acquisition of intuitive and direct Divine knowledge.
