Abstract

The rapid development of infrastructure in Surakarta has triggered high demand in the construction industry. Ongoing urbanization and rapid population growth are key drivers, creating the need for housing projects, public facilities, and improvements in transportation infrastructure. Despite the rapid economic growth and infrastructure development in Indonesia, particularly in Surakarta, significant progress has been made in the construction sector. However, increased demand has also brought about intense competition, especially in Design and Build projects. This research specifically aims to understand the processes related to the formation of expectations and customer satisfaction in Design and Build construction projects in Surakarta. The research methodology employed is qualitative with a descriptive approach, and data is obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data sources include relevant parties involved in the use of Design and Build construction services in Surakarta, Indonesia. Descriptive data analysis is used to present the data in a descriptive manner. The findings of this research indicate that the pre-purchase stage in construction services involves needs identification, information search, and alternative evaluation. Risk analysis, especially in functional, financial, temporal, physical, psychological, social, and sensory dimensions, is crucial in the decision-making process for potential users of construction services. Preferences for service dimensions such as tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy also significantly influence the selection of service providers. The ability of construction service providers to identify and manage risks, including the principles of 'The Flower of Service, also affects customer satisfaction.

Abstract

The increasing complexity of Islamic educational institutions requires educators and educational staff to demonstrate a high level of adaptability in responding to changing organizational demands and overlapping job roles. This study tests a dual parallel mediation model, in which self-efficacy and resilience act as mediators in the relationship between job crafting, role ambiguity, and adaptive performance. The study aims to address the lack of empirical evidence regarding the psychological mechanisms underlying adaptive performance among educators and educational staff in Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia. Employing an explanatory, cross-sectional quantitative design, this study gathered data through a structured survey completed by 152 PTK members drawn purposively from six private Islamic schools in Polokarto Sub-district, Sukoharjo Regency. Data analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4 software. The results indicate that job crafting has a positive and significant effect on self-efficacy, resilience, and adaptive performance. Conversely, role ambiguity had a direct negative effect on adaptive performance, while its indirect effects via self-efficacy and resilience were not found to be significant. Furthermore, self-efficacy and resilience fully mediated the relationship between job crafting and adaptive performance, with resilience emerging as the strongest mediator (f² = 0.368). This study contributes to the development of the literature by integrating Social Cognitive Theory and the Job Demands–Resources Model into a single conceptual framework, while also affirming the central role of psychological resources in enhancing adaptive performance within the context of Islamic educational institutions in non-Western countries. Practically, educational institutions are advised to strengthen job crafting practices, improve role clarity, and develop programs to enhance psychological resources. For future research, it is recommended that researchers adopt a longitudinal design and include a wider variety of educational institutions, so that the findings can be generalized more broadly.

Abstract

This study analyzes recent research trends and thematic focuses on creativity and innovation within the culinary business, synthesizing findings from six key journal articles. The analysis identifies six major themes driving creativity and innovation in this context. First, cultural creativity emphasizes leveraging local heritage and traditions to differentiate culinary offerings and foster place-based identity. Second, sustainability and green practices highlight the importance of integrating environmentally friendly strategies to enhance competitive advantage. Third, behavioral psychology explores how traits such as motivation, locus of control, and self-efficacy influence entrepreneurial creativity and success. Fourth, digital transformation emerges as a critical enabler of innovation, with the adoption of digital tools, e-commerce platforms, and social media enhancing operational efficiency and customer engagement. Fifth, market orientation underscores the role of proactive consumer-centric approaches, supported by advanced technologies and data-driven insights, in driving innovative culinary solutions. Finally, resourceful financial management demonstrates how financial bootstrapping fosters creative problem-solving, particularly among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with limited resources. The findings suggest that creativity and innovation in the culinary business are shaped by an intersection of cultural, psychological, technological, and financial factors. Sustainability and digital adoption are particularly highlighted as key drivers of differentiation and competitiveness. This synthesis provides a comprehensive framework for understanding how culinary businesses adapt to evolving consumer demands, market competition, and societal trends. Future research should further explore the integration of these themes to support the development of innovative and resilient culinary enterprises.

Abstract

Abstract. This study examines the role of the creative economy in contributing to regional economic growth by synthesizing empirical findings from reputable national and international research. Utilizing a simplified Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, the analysis covers a 15-year period (2010–2025), focusing on scholarly works that link the creative and industrial economy to Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). From an initial pool of 52 relevant publications, only 25 Scopus-indexed and 5 credible non-Scopus articles met the inclusion criteria for rigorous analysis. The review reveals that the creative economy holds substantial potential to enhance regional economic performance, especially in times of economic uncertainty. However, the magnitude and nature of its impact vary based on local policy frameworks, institutional readiness, and socioeconomic contexts. Supportive innovation ecosystems and well-aligned government policies are key enablers in maximizing the sector’s productivity and resilience. Furthermore, the findings underscore the global relevance of the creative economy, highlighting its adaptability across diverse regions and economic structures. Beyond synthesizing the current literature, this study identifies critical gaps and future research directions. These include examining how the creative economy can respond to emerging global challenges such as climate change, digital transformation, and economic inequality. The integration of advanced technologies to foster creativity and innovation also emerges as a strategic imperative for sustainable regional development.
