Abstract

The Ministry of Agriculture designated South Konawe Regency as a source area for Balinese cattle through Minister of Agriculture Decree (Kepmentan) No. 803/Kpts/PK.030/12/2016 where one of the buffer areas is Palangga District. The main problem for breeders in Palangga District is the limited forage during the dry season. In the dry season, breeders only provide minimal feed without paying attention to the quality, quantity, and efficiency of the provision. The lack of awareness among breeders regarding the provision and utilization of quality HPT in sufficient quantities has caused the majority of breeders to provide forage of low quality to the livestock they keep. The aim of this activity is to help farmers produce optimal production by handling animal feed problems. The results that have been achieved in this Thematic KKN are increasing the knowledge and understanding of farmers raising livestock farmers' awareness of providing and utilizing quality HPT in sufficient quantities and ensuring its continuity throughout the year so that livestock productivity can be maintained and increased.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh penggunaan tepung kulit singkong fermentasi (FCPF) terhadap bobot potong, bobot karkas, dan persentase karkas ayam kampung super. Rancangan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan tersebut adalah T1 (ransum yang mengandung 0% FCPF), T2 (ransum yang mengandung 5% FCPF), T3 (ransum yang mengandung 10% FCPF), dan T4 (ransum yang mengandung 15% FCPF). Parameter penelitan yaitu bobot potong, bobot karkas, persentase karkas, persentase kulit, persentase daging dan persentase tulang. Analisis data menggunakan analisis varians (ANOVA) dan Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tepung kulit singkong fermentasi dalam ransum berpengaruh nyata (p<0,05) terhadap bobot potong tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (p>0,05) terhadap bobot karkas, persentase karkas, persentase kulit, persentase daging, dan persentase tulang. Kadar tepung kulit singkong fermentasi kadar 10% menunjukkan tingkat optimal yang dapat direspon baik oleh ayam kampung super, sedangkan FCPF di atas 10% justru menurunkan bobot potong ayam kampung super.Kata kunci: ayam kampung super, tepung singkong fermentasi; tepung, sembelih timbang karkas Super Native Chicken Carcass Qualities FedFermented Cassava Peel FlourABSTRACTThis study aims to evaluate the effect of using fermented cassava peel flour (FCPF) on slaughter weight, carcass weight and carcass percentage of super native chicken. The design used in this study is a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatments are T1 (rations containing 0% FCPF), T2 (rations containing 5% FCPF), T3 (rations containing 10% FCPF) and T4 (rations containing 15% FCPF). The parameters observed are slaughter weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, skin percentage, meat percentage and bone percentage. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan’sMultiple Range Test (DMRT). The results of the study, shows that fermented cassava peel flour in the ration has a significant effect (p<0.05) on slaughter weight but no significant effect (P> 0.05) on carcass weight, carcass percentage, skin percentage, meat percentage and bone percentage. Fermented cassava peel flour on 10% level shows the optimal effect that can be responded well by super native chickens, while FCPF above 10% actually decreases slaughter weight.Keywords: super native chicken, fermented cassava peel flour, slaughter weight, carcass

Abstract

ABSTRAKAyam tolaki merupakan ayam lokal yang berasal dari Sulawesi Tenggara yang memiliki beberapa keunggulan seperti daya tahan tubuh yang lebih tinggi terhadap virus dan bakteri serta memiliki pertumbuhan yang beragam. Sifat-sifat unggul tersebut dikontrol oleh beberapa major gen, salah satunya adalah Transforming growth factor-beta 2 (TGF-β2). Transforming growth factor-beta 2 (TGF-β2) adalah kelompok gen growth hormone (GH) yang berperan sebagai pengontrol sifat pertumbuhan ayam dan termasuk dalam kelompok sitokin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui asosiasi gen TGF-β2 dengan ukuran-ukuran tubuh ayam tolaki. Sampel penelitian menggunakan 60 ekor ayam tolaki. Data tentang ukuran tubuh yang diamati meliputi: panjang punggung, panjang femur, panjang shank, panjang tibia, lingkar dada dan panjang sayap. Polimorfisme gen TGF-β2 diidentifikasi menggunakan metode PCR-RFLP. Hasil identifikasi ditemukan 2 alel, yaitu alel T dan alel C dan 3 genotipe yaitu TT, TC, dan CC. Gen TGF-β2 menunjukkan perbedaan (p<0.05) pada panjang femur 9 minggu dan lingkar dada umur 12 minggu. Genotipe CC memiliki panjang femur dan lingkar dada yang lebih tinggi dari genotipe TC dan TT.Kata Kunci: Ayam tolaki, Gen TGF-β2, PCR-RFLP, ukuran tubuh Gen Association TGF-β2 with The Size of The Body in Tolaki ChiABSTRACTTolaki chicken is a local chicken originating from southeast Sulawesi, which has several advantages such as a higher immune system to viruses and bacteria and has a variety of growth. These superior qualities were controlled by several major genes, one of which was Transforming growth factor-beta 2 (TGF-β2). Transforming Growth Factor-beta 2 (TGF-β2) is a group of growth hormone (GH) genes that serve as a controlling nature of chicken growth and belong to the cytokine group. The aim of this research was to find out the gene Association TGF-β2 with the body size of tolaki chickens. Samples of the study used 60 tolaki chicken tails. Data about the body size observed include Length of the back, length of the femur, length of the shank, length of the tibia, chest circumference, and length of the wings. TGF-β2 gene polymorphism is identified using the PCR-RFLP method. The identification results found 2 alels, namely allele T and allele C, and 3 genotypes i.e. TT, TC, and CC. Gen TGF-β2 shows the difference (p< 0.05) in the length of the femur 9 weeks and the chest circumference age 12 weeks. The CC genotyping has a higher femur length and a chest circumference than the TC and TT genotypes.Keywords: Tolaki chicken, Gen TGF-β2, PCR-RFLP, body size

Abstract

Community service activities carried out by a team of lecturers from the Faculty of Animal Husbandry integrated with the Thematic KKN program from the Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) of Halu Oleo University in 2024 were carried out in Soropia village, Soropia sub-district, Konawe district. Introducing post-harvest livestock meat processing techniques into chicken meatballs to the Soropia village community. This is intended to increase community creativity in processing food ingredients and become a source of income. Community service activities in Soropia village were carried out in two stages. The first stage is a village community meeting regarding the delivery of work programs. Furthermore, the second stage is the demonstration stage of making meatballs. Meatball processing in principle consists of four stages, namely, crushing, grinding meat, making dough, molding meatballs and cooking and packaging. The output achieved in this activity is an increase in the insight and knowledge of the Soropia village community regarding post-harvest livestock processing.

Abstract

Community service activities integrated with KKN-THEMATIC carried out by the UHO Faculty of Animal Husbandry Lecturer Team took place in Soropia Village, Soropia District, Konawe Regency. Compost is an organic fertilizer produced through the process of decomposition of organic materials, especially animal waste, by active microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi. The purpose of this service is to provide training and technology transfer in making compost. The methods used include delivering materials and demonstrations. In this activity, training in making compost was carried out by utilizing cow dung which is widely available around the Soropia Village settlement, which is then mixed with super decomposer EM4, rice husks, granulated sugar, and water. Through this training, the community is given knowledge about the use of waste from agriculture and livestock to be processed into useful products, especially in the fields of livestock and organic farming which are currently developing in Soropia Village. The farmers showed high enthusiasm during this activity and appreciated the service carried out, with the hope that similar activities can be continued in the future.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat Internal Pascasarjana Universitas Halu Oleo (UHO) dilaksanakan oleh tim dosen Pascasarjana UHO di Kelurahan Watubangga, Kecamatan Baruga, Kota Kendari. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peternak ayam kampung dalam teknik pembibitan ayam kampung unggul melalui metode seleksi dan kawin silang. Melalui program ini, diharapkan peternak dapat menghasilkan bibit ayam kampung yang memiliki kualitas unggul, baik dari segi pertumbuhan, daya tahan tubuh, maupun produktivitas. Kegiatan ini mencakup beberapa aspek utama dalam pembibitan ayam kampung unggul. Pertama, peternak diberikan pelatihan tentang cara menyeleksi indukan, pejantan, dan anak ayam yang memiliki karakteristik unggul. Seleksi ini meliputi aspek fisik, kesehatan, dan potensi genetik yang mendukung produktivitas ternak. Kedua, diperkenalkan teknik kawin silang yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas keturunan dengan mengkombinasikan sifat unggul dari berbagai jenis ayam kampung. Teknik ini memungkinkan peternak untuk memperoleh bibit yang lebih adaptif terhadap lingkungan serta memiliki pertumbuhan yang optimal. Selain itu, program ini juga mengenalkan teknik inseminasi buatan (IB) pada ternak ayam kampung. Peternak diberikan pelatihan mengenai teknik menampung semen ayam secara higienis serta teknik deposisi semen ke dalam saluran reproduksi ayam betina. Penerapan inseminasi buatan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efisiensi reproduksi, mempercepat peningkatan kualitas genetik, serta mengurangi risiko penyebaran penyakit yang dapat terjadi melalui kawin alami. Melalui program ini, diharapkan peternak ayam kampung di Kelurahan Watubangga dapat menerapkan teknik pembibitan unggul secara mandiri, sehingga dapat meningkatkan produktivitas dan kesejahteraan peternak

Abstract

Ayam lokal adalah ayam kampung atau ayam yang sudah lama diadopsi di Indonesia. Ayam lokal dapat dibudidayakan karena dapat menghasilkan daging, penghasil telur dan dapat dijadikan sebagai hobi dan kesenangan. Karakteristik morfometrik dapat digambarkan dengan panjang femur, panjang tibia, panjang rahang atas, panjang sayap, panjang tarsometatarsus, lingkar tarsometatarsus, panjang jari ketiga (tengah), dan panjang sternum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bobot badan dan morfometrik ayam Bangkok di Kecamatan Konda Kabupten Konawe Selatan. Data penimbangan bobot badan dan pengukuran morfometrik ayam Bangkok yang terkumpul selanjutnya ditabulasi dan dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan menyajikan rataan (), simpangan baku (SD) dan koefisien keragaman (KK). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ayam Bangkok jantan di Kecamatan Konda memiliki rataan bobot badan yang cukup tinggi (2.919,39g) dengan koefisien keragaman yang tinggi pula(17,76%). Ukuran morfometrik yang diperoleh berbeda antara jantan dan betina dengan koefisien keragaman yang masih bervariasi atau beragam.

Abstract

Sapi Bali merupakan sapi primadona Indonesia karena kemampuan reproduksinya tinggi, mampu menghasilkan kualitas daging dan karkas yang baik, dapat digunakan sebagai tenaga kerja di sawah dan memiliki kemampuan adaptasi lingkungan yang tangguh dan sangat luas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi struktur dan dinamika popuasi ternak sapi Bali di Kecamatan Towea Kabupaten Muna. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Januari sampai dengan bulan Februari 2024, di Kecamatan Towea Kabupaten Muna. Variabel yang diamati pada penelitian ini yaitu Struktur populasi dan dinamika populasi. Analisi data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif data yang diperoleh ditabulasi, dianalisis dan dijelaskan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa struktur populasi sapi bali di Kecamatan Towea Kabupaten Muna terdiri dari sapi Jantan sebesar 25.53% dan sapi Betina 74,47% dan dinamika populasi sapi Bali di Kecamatan Towea Kabupaten Muna pada tahun 2023 sebesar 72 ekor (62,02%) meliputi angka pemasukan ternak yaitu kelahiran sebesar 34.04%. Sedangkan angka pengeluaran yang meliputi pemotongan ternak sebesar 2,66%. The data analysis used in this study used descriptive analysis. The data obtained were tabulated, analyzed and explained descriptively. The results of this study obtained that the population structure of Bali cattle in Towea District, Muna Regency consists of male cattle by 25.53% and female cattle by 74.47% and the dynamics of the Bali cattle population in Towea District, Muna Regency in 2023 amounted to 72 heads (62.02%) including the number of livestock entries, namely births by 34.04%. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis profil kimia darah pada ayam broiler yang diberikan tepung eceng gondok (Eichhornia crassipes) fermentasi pada pakan serta untuk mengetahui perlakukan terbaik dari pemberian tepung eceng gondok fermentasi dalam pakan terhadap profil kimia darah ayam broiler. Penggunaan rancangan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas 4 perlakuan dan masing-masing perlakuan terdiri atas 5 ulangan yang dimana terdapat 20 unit satuan percobaan, tiap ulangan menggunakan 5 ekor ayam. Perlakuan yang digunakan adalah : P0 = ransum tanpa tambahan tepung eceng gondok fermentasi 0%, P1 = ransum + 1,5% tepung eceng gondok fermentasi , P2 = ransum + 3% tepumg eceng gondok fermentasi, P3 = ransum + 4,5% tepung eceng gondok fermentasi. Parameter yang akan diamati pada penelitian ini yaitu kadar kolesterol darah, glukosa darah, dan asam urat. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan penambahan tepung eceng gondok fermentasi pada pakan ayam broiler dalam jumlah tertentu memberikan pengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kadar kolesterol darah, glukosa darah, dan asam urat.

Abstract

Community service activities carried out by the Faculty of Animal Husbandry lecturer team integrated with the Thematic KKN program from the Halu Oleo University Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM) Year 2024 were carried out in Soropia Village, Soropia District, Konawe Regency. Introducing the technique of making hatching machines and how to operate them to the community in Soropia Village. This is intended so that farmers can understand new technology in the poultry farming industry which functions to replace the role of mothers in incubating eggs and is expected to increase livestock productivity more optimally. Service activities in Soropia Village were carried out in two stages. The first stage was observation by conducting documentation data collection methods and discussions with community leaders as stakeholders. The results of the discussion showed that most of the community's understanding of egg incubators was still limited. The second stage involved developing a solution by designing and manufacturing a hatching machine, including procedures for its operation. The output achieved in this activity is an increase in insight and knowledge about automatic egg hatching machine technology.
