Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine whether there is a simultaneous influence of social support and cultural orientation on the stress level of correctional inmates in Rutan Class II B Salatiga. One hundred thirty-two prisoners participated in the study. This study used a quantitative approach with regression analysis to answer the research objectives. The measuring tools are the Social Support Scale (α=0,912), Cultural Orientation Scale (α=0,722), and DASS-21 (α=0,846). The results showed no significant effect between social support and cultural orientation on the stress level of WBP in Salatiga Rutan. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that most of the participants' stress and social support were moderate, and all participants had a high vertical collectivism cultural orientation. So, the detention center needs to pay attention to the condition of the inmate's stress level and minimize the factors that can affect stress. Keywords: stress, social support, culture orientation, correctional inmates, COVID-19 pandemic Abstrak Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh dukungan sosial dan orientasi budaya secara simultan dengan tingkat stres Warga Binaan Pemasyarakatan di Rutan Klas II B Salatiga. Sebanyak 132 orang Warga Binaan Pemasyarakatan menjadi partisipan. Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis regresi berganda untuk menjawab pertanyaan penelitian. Skala pengukuran yang digunakan adalah Social Support Scale (α=0,912), Cultural Orientation Scale (α=0,722), dan DASS-21 (α=0,846). Dari hasil penelitian disimpulkan tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan secara simultan antara dukungan sosial dan orientasi budaya dengan tingkat stres Warga Binaan Pemasyarakatan. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan bahwa stres maupun dukungan sosial sebagian besar partisipan berada pada tingkat sedang dan seluruh partisipan memiliki orientasi budaya vertical collectivism pada taraf tinggi. Untuk itu pihak Rutan perlu memperhatikan kondisi kesehatan mental Warga Binaan Pemasyarakatan dan meminimalkan faktor-faktor yang dapat mempengaruhinya. Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of the Intra-School Student Organization (OSIS) in shaping the Arabic language environment (biah lugawiyah) at SMK Ulil Albab NW Gegek, East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The problems raised are students' low practical Arabic skills due to theoretical learning and the lack of a language environment outside the classroom. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with an educational anthropology approach, with data obtained through participatory observation and in-depth interviews with student council administrators, teachers, and students, as well as documentation of student council work programs, and is analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results show that OSIS plays a role as the main driver of language activities, a motivator, and a role model for students through daily Muhādaṡah programs, Ilqā’ mufradāt, language boards, and language competitions, which are proven to improve speaking skills, foster motivation, and build Arabic language habits. These scientific findings are consistent with Krashen’s language acquisition theory, behaviorism about positive reinforcement, and the concept of contextual learning (CTL), so it can be concluded that OSIS is a key actor in creating a conducive, dynamic, and sustainable biah lugawiyah for the development of Arabic language skills at the pesantren-based secondary school level.

Abstract

Although the integration of love values in Arabic language learning has received attention in various studies on Islamic education reform, research that specifically discusses the implementation of the Love-Based Curriculum (KBC) in Arabic language learning in pesantren-based madrasahs remains limited. This study aims to analyze the Arabic language learning methods applied at MA Mu’allimat Nahdlatul Wathan Diniyah Islamiyah Pancor within the KBC framework. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive case study design, involving one Arabic language teacher and Grade XI Religious Studies students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, field notes, and document analysis and were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results showed that the teacher applied a combination of audiolingual, question-and-answer, halaqoh, and talaqqi methods that were effective in overcoming students’ initial barriers, particularly shyness and low learning motivation. Students’ emotional aspects received special attention through the provision of appreciation, deep talk, and individual mentoring. The conclusion of this study affirms that the integration of KBC in Arabic language learning can create a supportive affective climate and encourage positive changes in students’ attitudes. These findings provide a theoretical contribution to the development of humanistic pedagogy in Islamic education and practical implications for madrasah teachers in designing love-based Arabic language learning. This study also opens opportunities for further research on the long-term impact of KBC on students’ character and Arabic language competence.
