Abstract

This pandemic has resulted in children attending school online, leading to a lack of socialization among them. The impact on children has caused them to exhibit negative behavior, including a loss of respect, particularly towards elders. The role of parents is crucial in addressing this issue, as they serve as role models for their children. Therefore, parents need to be firm and teach values to their children. The objective of this article is to examine or explain the roles of parents in shaping the Christian character of children, aligning their character with what God desires. This study employs a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The research subjects are congregants of a Pentecostal Christian Church. The study explores events occurring within the church and its environment. Data collection instruments include interviews, observations, and document analysis. The data analysis follows Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis, involving data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. To ensure data validity, triangulation of sources and techniques were employed to strengthen the results. The observed behavior during the pandemic includes a lack of consistency in engaging in worship activities. Based on these findings, there is a need for a theological approach that instills the fear of God, encouraging congregants to behave respectfully in church and society.

Abstract

This journal explores the implementation of character education innovation as a key strategy in forming the Golden Generation 2045. The research uses a qualitative approach with case studies, focusing on changes in the curriculum, teaching methods, and the role of the school and family environment. The research results show that this innovation has a positive impact on the formation of student character, with an emphasis on values such as honesty, responsibility, creativity and leadership. The teacher's role in developing teaching methods that encourage student character is central, with approaches such as group discussions, collaborative projects, and daily life simulations. Students show positive responses with increased understanding of character values and ability to adapt to complex situations. The active role of parents in supporting this innovation has also proven to be significant, involving participation in school activities and the application of character values at home. Although the research faces challenges in quantitative evaluation and a lack of support from some parents and teachers, the conclusions confirm the importance of character education innovation as a foundation for creating the Golden Generation 2045. Policy recommendations include increasing teacher training, the active role of parents, and the development of more appropriate evaluation methods. The implications support efforts to improve the quality of education towards a future vision supported by a generation that is superior in character and intellectually.

Abstract

Character education is one of the strategic issues in education in Indonesia today. As an effort to strengthen the character of students, universities need to integrate local wisdom values in the learning process. This study aims to analyse the implementation of local wisdom-based character education in higher education. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations and document reviews. The results showed that the college has integrated local wisdom values such as gotong royong, tolerance, and religiosity in the curriculum, student activities, and campus culture. However, the implementation is still not optimal due to obstacles in socialisation, institutional support, and lecturers' understanding. For this reason, comprehensive efforts are needed from universities to strengthen character education based on local wisdom through policy development, capacity building of lecturers, and collaboration with stakeholders. It is expected that the output of this research can be a reference for universities in developing character education models that are in accordance with the local cultural context.
