Abstract

This experiment research aims to determine the optimum conditions for degradation of Indigosol Yellow IRK batik dye using ZnO-Chitosan composite, including radiation time, dye concentration, pH and determining the effectiveness of degradation. Synthesis of ZnO-chitosan composite using wet impregnation method. Radiation time with variations in time of 10, 30, 60, 120, and 180 minutes, variation in dye concentration 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 ppm, variation in pH of dye 2,5,7,9 and 11. Measurement of the resulting concentration dye degradation using a UV-Vis Spectrophotometer with a wavelength of 319 nm. A ZnO-chitosan composite was found to degrade Indigosol Yellow IRK batik dye at 180 minutes (98.28%), optimum concentration of 150 ppm (98.06%), optimum pH of 9 (98.98%). The photodegradation effectiveness test of the ZnO-chitosan composite using effective UV light was 5.60% compared to ZnO-chitosan without UV light. It was concluded that the ZnO-chitosan composite could degrade the Indigosol Yellow IRK batik dye so that the ZnO-chitosan-UV composite was more effectively used as an environmentally friendly dye degrader.

Abstract

Abstract

Bibliometric research offers a thorough picture of its study subject, identifies gaps in the field, encourages the development of new ideas, and makes contributions to research disciplines that are related to it. For the purpose of providing in-depth information regarding the development and direction of 4C research in the educational setting, this research was carried out. After doing a search for scientific publications on the 4Cs issue that were indexed by Scopus, the research was carried out using a bibliometric analysis approach. A total of 81 articles that were related to the topic were acquired, and these articles were then examined using Vos Viewer and visualized. 21st-century talents is the keyword that appears the most frequently in relation to the 4Cs, as indicated by the findings of the research, which shows that it appears 25 times. Research that has been carried out over the course of the past five years reveals an increase that is expected to continue to increase in the years to come. The utilization of digital learning environments is the research potential that can be created in relation to the 4C

Abstract

Efforts to improve the quality of education can be made in various ways, one of which is the use of innovative and technology-based teaching materials. Student Worksheets (known with LKPD) are one of the learning tools used by educators to deliver material and improve student understanding. This research intended for developing electronic LKPDSSIPBL based on circulatory system material at SMAN Palembang which is valid, practical and effective.  The development model using 4D refers to Thiagarajan which goes through 4 stages, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. The population and sample of the study included SMAN 4, SMAN 9, and SMAN 19 Palembang, while the sample of the study was 36 students of class XI.1 and 36 students of class XI.2. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and written tests. Data analysis used validity, reliability, and N-Gain. The results of this study consisted of (1) The define stage obtained a result of 41% meaning that teachers and students need SSI Electronic LKPD (2) The design stage obtained a value of 95% (3) The develop stage showed validation from language experts 83%, materials 81%, media 96%, and learning devices 83% were qualified as very feasible. Practicality, seen from student responses 82% and 2 teachers 98% and 97% showed very practical responses; (4) The dissemination stage shows that the use of PBL-based Electronic Practical Worksheets can improve critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.

Abstract

Energy as a socioscientific issue (SSI) demands the ability to think scientifically, argue rationally, and act ethically in complex real-world context. Future science teachers, particularly those from Generation Z, need to be equipped with these competencies to respond critically and responsibly to such challenges. This study aimed to analyze the quality of argumentation and decision-making among student groups in addressing energy-related socioscientific issues through collaborative discussion. A qualitative descriptive design with content analysis was employed, involving 15 student groups of second semester pre-service science teachers enrolled in matter and energy course across three different classes. Argumentation was analyzed using the Toulmin Argument Pattern (TAP), while decision-making was assessed through five aspects: criteria, evidence, perspectives, consequences, and justification. Each component was evaluated using a four-level rubric to determine the quality of students’ responses. The findings revealed that both skills were at a moderate level, with mean scores of 1.93 for argumentation and 2.21 for decision-making. Students were generally able to formulate claims, however, they often lacked strong scientific justification and consideration of alternative viewpoints. Their decisions did not consistently reflect deep reasoning or align with the quality of their argumentation. These findings underscore the importance of integrating socioscientific issues-based instruction into science teacher education to strengthen scientific reasoning, ethical judgment, and evidence-based decision-making.

Abstract

Based on observations and interviews at SMA Negeri 1 Tempilang, biology teaching is still dominated by lecture methods (31.8%), and 50% of teachers do not understand the learning model. In fact, the Independent Curriculum emphasizes developing 21st-century skills, such as critical thinking and motivation to learn, which are not considered in existing teaching tools. This study aims to create a Problem-Based Learning (PBL)-based teaching module on biodiversity materials. The study population consisted of students of class X with a sample of classes X1 to X4. The development model uses 4D: define, design, develop, and disseminate. Data were collected through interviews, questionnaires, and observations, then analyzed with the N-Gain test—the results of the Define phase show the need for teaching modules to support critical thinking. The design phase resulted in a module design and 10 valid essential questions of thinking (reliability 0.801). At the development stage, this module was rated very well in terms of language (90.00%) and material (90.44%), as well as in terms of devices (82.70%) and ratings (82.70%). The modules are also stated by practical teachers (87.5%) and are easy for students to read (92%). Therefore, PBL-based teaching modules are suitable for improving students' critical thinking skills and motivation to learn.
