Abstract

Patients with social isolation are often found in psychiatric nursing practice, especially those with mental disorders such as schizophrenia, depression, or social anxiety disorder. Social isolation is someone who avoids social interaction and has difficulty communicating or building significant relationships with others. This condition greatly affects the patient's quality of life and worsens the symptoms of mental disorders experienced. The purpose of this concept analysis is to gain a more detailed and in-depth understanding of Social Skill Training in Socially Isolated Patients. This concept analysis uses the Walker and Avant approach with analysis steps including: utilization of attributes in case models, borderline cases, related cases, and opposite cases, explaining antecedents and consequences. Relevant literature findings related to the concept were obtained through concept databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct, NCBI, Researchgate, Publish and Perish and ProQuest. Keywords used in the literature search include "Social Skill Training", "Social Isolation", and "Scizophrenia". The inclusion criteria for articles were articles written in English and Indonesian, full text, and articles published in the last 5 years from 2019 - 2024 and open access. The results Social Skill Training(SST) is effective in improving social skills, reducing symptoms of social isolation, and improving the quality of life of patients with mental health disorders. In the context of social isolation, SST provides a structured approach to help patients develop communication skills, manage emotions, and increase their confidence in social interactions..It is expected Nurses should use SST as a standard intervention in treating patients with social isolation, especially those caused by mental disorders such as schizophrenia, depression, and social anxiety.

Abstract

Indonesia faces a significant challenge with a high population growth rate that affects development quality and family welfare. One solution is to increase male participation in the family planning program through contraceptive methods such as vasectomy. However, the acceptance rate of vasectomy is still low due to various factors. This study analyzes the factors influencing vasectomy acceptance by identifying its attributes, antecedents, and consequences. This study used Walker and Avant's concept analysis approach. The literature analyzed came from various databases, such as PubMed and ProQuest, with publications from 2019 to 2024. A total of 129 articles were found, and 24 articles met the inclusion criteria for further review. The analysis identified four main attributes that influenced the decision to choose vasectomy: knowledge, wife support, economic factors, and planning for the number of children. Antecedents such as age, education, and occupation shaped the level of knowledge, which, together with wife support and economic factors, influenced the family's decision to choose vasectomy. Consequently, vasectomy is accepted as an effective, safe, and cost-effective family planning method. This analysis highlights the need for comprehensive information and support to enhance men's participation in family planning programs through vasectomy.

Abstract

Coping mechanisms greatly help schizophrenia patients deal with psychotic symptoms such as hallucinations, delusions, and disorganized thoughts, as well as manage the emotional and social effects of their illness. The purpose of this concept analysis is to gain a more detailed and in-depth understanding of the use of coping mechanisms as part of schizophrenia therapy. This concept analysis uses the Walker and Avant approach with relevant literature findings related to the concept were obtained through concept databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, etc. Keywords used in the literature search include "Coping mechanisms", and "Scizophrenia". The inclusion criteria for articles were articles written in English and Indonesian, full text, and articles published in the last 5 years from 2019-2024 and open access as many as 7 articles. The results Adaptive coping mechanisms, such as problem solving and seeking social support, can help patients deal with stress, reduce symptoms, and improve their quality of life. Conversely, maladaptive coping strategies, such as avoidance or denial, actually risk worsening the patient's condition, increasing social isolation, and increasing the likelihood of symptom recurrence. It is hoped that more in-depth education about effective coping mechanisms needs to be included in nurse training and patient counseling.

Abstract

Anemia is a significant health issue among adolescent girls, often caused by iron deficiency. Compliance in consuming Iron Tablets (Tablet Tambah Darah, TTD) is crucial to address this condition. This study aims to systematically review the influence of WhatsApp, teacher support, and attitudes of adolescent girls on TTD compliance. The method used is a systematic review with the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) approach. A search conducted on journals indexed by SINTA and Scopus resulted in a total of 860 journals using the keywords anemia, iron supplement compliance, adolescents, technology WhatsApp, teacher support, and attitudes. Of these, 15 journals met the inclusion criteria and were further analyzed. The results of the study indicate that the use of WhatsApp can enhance awareness and knowledge of adolescent girls about the importance of consuming TTD, although the outcomes vary. Teacher support has also been shown to play an important role in improving compliance, as teachers can provide the necessary encouragement and supervision. Positive attitudes of adolescent girls towards TTD consumption significantly contribute to compliance. In conclusion, the combination of communication technology, teacher support, and fostering positive attitudes can enhance TTD compliance among adolescent girls. This multidimensional approach can be an effective strategy to reduce the prevalence of anemia among adolescent girls.

Abstract

Abstract

Introduction: Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) is an important indicator in improving health status, particularly among university students as a productive age group. Health knowledge plays a role as a predisposing factor in the formation of healthy behavior. Individuals with a good level of health knowledge tend to have higher awareness and motivation to implement PHBS. Conversely, a lack of knowledge may lead to behaviors that pose health risks. Objective: This study aimed to determine the relationship between the level of health knowledge and clean and healthy living behavior (PHBS) among students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang. Methods: This study employed a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 55 students, including students from health-related and non-health-related faculties. Samples were selected using an accidental sampling technique, namely respondents who were encountered and willing to complete the questionnaire at the time of data collection. The research instruments were a health knowledge questionnaire and a PHBS questionnaire. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate analysis with the Spearman test. Results: The results showed that the majority of respondents had good health knowledge (89.1%) and good PHBS (90.9%). The Spearman test results showed a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between the level of health knowledge and PHBS. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the better the level of students’ health knowledge, the better the implementation of clean and healthy living behavior.

Abstract

In-depth conceptual analysis of the NURSE Program (Nurturing, Understanding, Responding, Supporting, Empowering) intervention for postpartum depression based on Cheryl Tatano Beck's theory is still limited. To analyze and operationalize the NURSE concept into specific nursing actions and test its application in community public health center. Using sequential explanatory mixed methods. The qualitative phase involved concept analysis, followed by a quantitative quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest phase involving 30 postpartum mothers (EPDS ≥10) at the public health center. Data were analyzed descriptively and using paired t-tests. The analysis successfully mapped each NURSE concept to the stages of Beck's “Theory of Self-Loss.” The intervention showed a significant decrease in postpartum depression scores (p<0.001). The average EPDS score decreased from 17.2 (moderate-severe) to 8.6 (mild-non-depressed), with 83.3% of respondents experiencing a decrease in category. The NURSE Program is a coherent conceptual construct that integrates theory and is effectively applied. The results of this concept analysis can be used as standard operational guidelines for nurses in theory-based maternal mental health nursing care.
