Abstract

Intense competition in the retail industry requires companies to adopt an omnichannel strategy to create superior customer experience. This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of how UNIQLO, as a global retail leader, integrates Omnichannel Order Management (OOM) into its Customer Relationship Management (CRM) ecosystem. Adopting the omnichannel management framework, this study uses a qualitative case study approach based on secondary data to examine the strategies, technological enablers, and impacts of UNIQLO's "Ariake Project." The findings show that UNIQLO successfully builds a strong operational foundation through technological drivers, specifically RFID for unified inventory visibility and warehouse automation, alongside organizational drivers such as the "Takumi" culture. This integration enables flexible order fulfillment services such as Buy Online Pick-up In-Store (BOPIS), which has achieved an adoption rate of over 40%. Furthermore, the synergy with CRM has encouraged the growth of e-commerce contribution to a steady level of 15% post-pandemic. The study concludes that the key to UNIQLO's success lies in the synergistic integration of operational efficiency (OOM) and customer data intelligence (CRM), which provides actionable insights to balance technology with customer empathy in retail transformation.

Abstract

The competency certificate for electrical technical personnel serves as formal evidence that an individual is qualified to work in the electricity sector and has a validity period of three years, requiring periodic surveillance to ensure regulatory compliance. In practice, the surveillance process is still largely conducted manually by Competency Certification Bodies (LSK), resulting in administrative inefficiencies, delays in certificate renewal, fragmented documentation, and limited traceability of surveillance records. These challenges not only burden certification bodies and certificate holders but also affect regulatory supervision performance. This study aims to design and develop a competency certificate surveillance information system for electrical technical personnel using a disruptive Recognise–Scrutinize–Materialize (RSM) design approach. Data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis to identify existing problems and system requirements. The RSM method was applied to systematically align stakeholder needs with national regulations and international standards, including ISO, IEEE, and NIST guidelines. The results of this research produce a regulation-based surveillance system design in the form of a structured mock-up that integrates automated reminders, digital document validation, standardized surveillance workflows, and real-time monitoring dashboards. The proposed system is expected to improve efficiency, data accuracy, transparency, and regulatory compliance in the surveillance and renewal process of competency certificates. This research contributes novel insights into the digitalization of competency certificate surveillance, a topic that has received limited attention in previous studies, particularly within the electricity sector.

Abstract

Enterprise architecture plays an important role in aligning business strategy and information technology. However, comprehensive frameworks such as TOGAF 10 are often perceived as complex due to extensive artifact requirements and high resource demands, which create challenges for organizations with limited resources. Therefore, this study aims to examine the role of lean and agile principles in simplifying enterprise architecture through the Mini-TOGAF approach to improve implementation efficiency and adaptability. This research adopts a design science research approach, focusing on the design and development of the Mini-TOGAF framework as a conceptual artifact. To establish a solid theoretical foundation and systematically define the components of Mini-TOGAF, a systematic literature review was conducted. The findings indicate that lean principles simplify enterprise architecture by eliminating waste through “just enough” documentation and by consolidating and prioritizing artifacts based on core business value. In addition, Agile principles ensure that the resulting architecture remains flexible and outcome-oriented through iterative development, rapid adaptation to change, and continuous stakeholder involvement. This study concludes that Mini-TOGAF represents a pragmatic and effective adaptation of TOGAF 10, enabling more efficient, agile, and strategically aligned enterprise architecture implementation for resource-constrained organizations.

Abstract

This study reports the development of a web-based Point of Sale (POS) system for Café Sonia, an MSME café setting where day-to-day transaction handling and reporting benefit from a workflow-aligned digital solution. The system was produced using Rapid Application Development (RAD) through short, stakeholder-driven iteration cycles with explicitly bounded scope and systematic feedback incorporation, resulting in an end-to-end POS flow from ordering to receipt and transaction history. Performance metrics reported in this paper are derived from a small-scale JMeter run and should be interpreted as an indicative baseline rather than evidence of peak-hour robustness. No dedicated usability evaluation was conducted; therefore, user-facing quality remains a pending empirical question that warrants task-based usability testing and standardized instruments such as the System Usability Scale (SUS) in subsequent iterations. Debates around RAD often hinge on a perceived tension between development speed and methodological accountability, particularly when systems must remain maintainable beyond the prototype stage. The Café Sonia case suggests that RAD can still yield a coherent, maintainable, and context-fit POS when iteration cycles are guided by stakeholders and the scope is clearly controlled. The novelty lies in providing case-based evidence of RAD’s practical effectiveness for delivering a customized MSME café POS, while the contribution is a traceable development pathway linking requirements capture, iterative prototyping artefacts, and scenario-based functional verification for reuse in comparable small-retail environments.

Abstract

This paper aims to synthesize the fragmented body of literature on how Artificial Intelligence (AI) transforms the traditional Strategic Alignment Model (SAM). Specifically, the study examines the role of Digital Orchestration as a mediating mechanism between AI capabilities and organizational performance. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach guided by PRISMA protocols, this research analyzes 84 peer-reviewed articles published between 2018 and 2026 and indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases. The study identifies three main thematic pillars: Cognitive Alignment, Algorithmic Governance, and Human–AI Collaborative Synergy. Overall, these themes indicate that AI is no longer merely an operational support tool but has evolved into an agentic strategic capability that enables continuous sensing, predictive decision-making, and real-time synchronization between business and IT domains. The findings demonstrate a paradigm shift from “Static Fit” toward “Fluid Orchestration.” Theoretically, this study extends the Resource-Based View by positioning agentic AI capability as a higher-order dynamic capability and proposes an AI-Enabled Digital Orchestration Framework to integrate previously fragmented insights. Managerially, the research emphasizes the importance of Dynamic KPIs and Agentic Governance to prevent algorithmic misalignment. Overall, the study advances strategic alignment theory by framing AI-driven strategy as a continuously adaptive orchestration capability in volatile digital ecosystems.

Abstract

The rapid integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into organizational strategy has intensified the need for robust data governance mechanisms that ensure data quality, accountability, and strategic alignment. While prior studies have examined data governance and AI strategy separately, a comprehensive synthesis explaining how Information Systems (IS) frameworks bridge technical data management and competitive advantage remains limited. This study addresses this gap by conducting a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to synthesize key IS frameworks that govern data for AI-driven strategic outcomes. Following the PRISMA 2020 protocol, relevant peer-reviewed articles published between 2018 and 2026 were systematically collected from Scopus, Web of Science, and the AIS eLibrary. A total of 65 high-quality studies were selected for thematic and theoretical analysis. The findings reveal three dominant thematic clusters: algorithmic accountability and ethics, data pedigree and provenance, and the evolving strategic role of the Chief Data Officer (CDO). The synthesis further demonstrates a theoretical shift from static, compliance-oriented governance toward dynamic capabilities grounded in the Resource-Based View. This study contributes to IS and AI strategy literature by re-conceptualizing data governance as a second-order organizational capability that enables sustainable competitive advantage. Practical implications highlight the importance of governance agility, strategic alignment, and trust-building mechanisms in scaling AI initiatives.
