Abstract

This article discusses how the reason and the revelation play a role in the treasures of Islamic thought. The type of research used is library research by collecting data from the library, both primary and secondary data. Then the data that has been collected is analyzed using analytical descriptive data analysis to present a complete conclusion. This research produces at least three main points, namely: first, the reason has a high value in the Qur'an, including the command for humans to think. Second, from a theological perspective, the reason and revelation are given their own portions, the Mu'tazilah with a larger portion of reason and the Asy'ariyah with a smaller portion of reason dissolving revelation. Third, from a philosopher's perspective, the eason and revelation are two things that are compatible in the view of Ibn Rushd and al-Kindi.

Abstract

Discussions about the soul (al-nafs) in the context of the Islamic world have begun since the emergence of Islamic thinkers in history. The soul is considered unimportant in Islamic teachings because the Koran states that the soul is God's business. This research adopts qualitative research methods with a focus on exploring Islamic thought regarding aspects of the soul in the context of Islamic thought. The library research approach is used as a data collection method, utilizing written works which include research results, publications and related literature that have a correlation with the research object. Research findings indicate that in the Qur'an, the word "al-nafs" (soul) is sometimes interpreted as spirit, indicating that the soul originates from the spirit. The spirit is considered the essence, while the soul is part of the spirit. Muslim philosophers contributed to understanding the soul, describing it as a spiritual substance with its own role and function. This journal also discusses the Koran's view of the soul, considering the role of ethics, morality, and the relationship between the soul and God in achieving soul perfection and eternal happiness in the afterlife.

Abstract

This article aims to find out the history of Ahmadiyya through a critical analysis of its doctrine and influence. This research is research using a Historical approach that relies on four main activities, namely Heuristic, Interpretation, Criticism, and Presentation. The data collection technique is through archival and literature studies and then uses interview techniques and field studies as a comparison. The findings of this analysis are that the entry of Ahmadiyah Qadian into Indonesia began because of a request from Indonesian youth who were studying in Qadian, namely Abu Bakar Ayyub, Zaini Dahlan, Ahmad Nuruddin, and other friends, the majority of whom were from West Sumatra. As a da'wah movement, Ahmadiyah emphasizes the spiritual aspect of Islam, which is mahdiist, namely the fact that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad is al Mahdi who carries out the mission of eliminating darkness and creating peace in the world. In addition, the Ahmadiyya movement positions itself as a reform movement that aims to restore Muslims to the root of Islamic truth, based on the Quran, hadith, and spread it according to the teachings of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad based on the revelations he received

Abstract

This article aims to find out the essence of An-Nafs based on Islamic thought and explain An-Nafs and Islamic Education according to the interpretation of Islamic philosophers or thinkers. This research is carried out through a qualitative approach with a literature study approach. The preparation of the article is carried out by examining various sources that are directly related to the focus of this research. The main sources of research data are reference books and research articles published in various scientific journals and indexed by google scholar. Data collection was carried out using the keyword "an-nafs in Islamic thought". Data analysis is carried out qualitatively consisting of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the analysis show that An-nafs means that human beings in totality, substance, and nature of God, have a human essence consisting of a part of the spirit that is integrated with the body (body). Based on Al-Kindi's view, an-nafs is jauhar basit (a single substance) with divine and spiritual characteristics, has a noble and perfect meaning. An-nafs is a spiritual distance, so its relationship with the body is axal. Although an-nafs is united with the body, with which it can carry out its activities, but an-nafs remains separate and distinct from the body, so that it is eternal after death. According to Al-Ghazali, human beings consist of al-nafs (soul), al-spirit, and al-jism (body).

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the debate on the aspects of divinity in Islamic theology and its relation to the sentence of monotheism based on the madhhab Mu'tazilah, Asyariyah and Al-Maturidiyah. This study is a literature study with a qualitative approach that uses descriptive analysis. The data is taken from articles published on Google Scholar. Furthermore, a strict selection is carried out for these articles by evaluating the abstract, methodology, results, and relevance of each article. Conclusions were drawn from the findings, and the practical and theoretical implications of the study were identified. The results of the analysis show that Islamic theological schools such as Mu'tazilah, Ash'ariyah, and Maturidiyah debate various aspects of divinity in the context of monotheistic sentences. Mu'tazilah emphasizes the intellect and justice of Allah, while Ash'ariyah balances reason and revelation, rejects anthropomorphism in understanding God's attributes, and affirms God's decree and destiny. Maturidiyah, on the other hand, has a more moderate approach and emphasizes the importance of faith, and views the attributes of Allah as something that can be understood in a limited way by human reason. Despite their different approaches, these schools seek to understand and explain aspects of divinity within the framework of monotheism which is a fundamental principle in Islamic teachings

Abstract

This study discusses the relationship between the plurality of beings and the oneness of the Creator from philosophical and theological perspectives. The plurality of beings reflects the diversity of God's creation, which includes humans, animals, plants, and inanimate objects, as manifestations of the greatness and complexity of the Creator. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach and content analysis to understand the interaction between the diversity of creation and the oneness of God. Data were collected through literature studies, interviews with religious figures, and observations in religious communities. The analysis was conducted hermeneutically to interpret religious and philosophical texts, as well as through thematic analysis to identify patterns of thought. The results show that the plurality of beings not only affirms the oneness of God but also encourages tolerance, interfaith dialogue, and social harmony in pluralistic societies. By understanding this relationship, society can create strong social cohesion and reduce the potential for identity-based conflicts.

Abstract

This research analyzes Islamic transnational movements, especially the Salafi in South Sulawesi, their internalization, and implications for religious moderation. By applying qualitative methods and a phenomenological approach, this research was carried out in several key locations in South Sulawesi, namely in Makassar, Gowa, and Parepare, including Islamic boarding schools and several strategic mosques. The research reveal that the Salafi da'wah approach, which is effective and responsive to social dynamics, has gained a place in society. However, this puritanical approach faces challenges internalizing religious moderation, especially in interreligious tolerance and adaptation to local culture. Religious moderation offers a solution to create more inclusive and adaptive religious behavior, supporting harmony between religious communities in Indonesia.

Abstract

Textualization and contextualization of Islamic teachings in the Quran and Hadith refer to two important approaches in understanding and applying Islamic teachings in the context of the times and human life. This textualization refers to understanding the holy texts, such as the Quran and Hadith, thoroughly and in depth. This process involves analyzing the linguistic, historical, and socio-cultural contexts in which the texts were revealed. For example, understanding the meaning of the Arabic words used in the Quran and identifying the historical context behind the revelations. Contextualization This includes connecting the teachings contained in the holy texts with contemporary realities and everyday life. This process is important to bridge the gap between timeless teachings and the challenges and changes of the times. An example is applying Islamic moral and ethical principles in the context of modern life, such as technological issues, globalization, and social issues. In practice, textualization and contextualization enable Muslims to better understand religious teachings, maintain the relevance of these teachings in various situations, and avoid erroneous or inappropriate interpretations. This also helps maintain continuity between religious traditions and developments in the era, so that Islamic values can provide meaningful guidance for humanity in various eras.
