Abstract

This study evaluates the factors that influence the broad money of five ASEAN countries. Global economic uncertainty due to financial crises, geopolitical conflicts and pandemics has affected the region's economic stability. Central banks have a role in controlling broad money through monetary policy, but its effectiveness is affected by other factors such as GDP, interest rates and inflation. Moreover, the relationship between GDP growth, inflation, and interest rates with broad money is a major concern, as the trend of broad money growth in the 5 ASEAN countries continues to increase every year. The balance between broad money and price stability is crucial to prevent economic stress that could lead to a recession. Therefore, this study focuses on an in-depth analysis of the factors that influence money supply to help the government make decisions. The research sample consists of 100 data with five ASEAN countries, namely Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and Malaysia with a time series of 2004-2023. This methodology uses a mixed approach, namely quantitative with secondary data from the World Bank & IMF with LSDV analysis. It was found that the adjusted r square value was 97%, which means that GDP, interest rates, and inflation used were able to explain the money supply of 5 ASEAN countries by 97% and 3% was influenced by other factors outside this study. GDP was found to have no significant effect while interest rates have a significant negative effect and inflation has a significant positive effect on the broad money of 5 ASEAN countries. The government is expected to better analyze the policies and actions taken, such as managing monetary policy wisely, especially in maintaining the stability of inflation and interest rates so that the money supply can be well controlled.

Abstract

The export of Indonesia's fisheries subsector plays a crucial role in the national economy, but this sector faces challenges influenced by monetary policy, which can affect the competitiveness of fisheries products in international markets. This study aims to analyze the impact of monetary policy on the export of Indonesia’s fisheries products, focusing on factors such as the real exchange rate, interest rates, and inflation. A quantitative approach using time series methods is employed, utilizing secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and Bank Indonesia for the period from 1994 to 2023. The results show that monetary policy has a significant impact on the export of Indonesia’s fisheries products. Specifically, the real exchange rate has a significant negative effect on exports, where depreciation of the exchange rate reduces the competitiveness of Indonesian fisheries products. Interest rates have a significant positive effect, indicating that higher interest rates can stimulate exports through increased investment and competitiveness. Inflation also has a positive and significant effect, showing that controlled inflation can enhance foreign market purchasing power for Indonesian fisheries products. Simultaneously, the three variables real exchange rate, interest rates, and inflation have a significant impact on the export performance of Indonesia’s fisheries subsector. Overall, stable monetary policies, particularly in managing exchange rates, interest rates, and inflation, can improve the export performance of Indonesia’s fisheries subsector. This study suggests that the Indonesian government should pay more attention to the impact of monetary policy on exports to enhance competitiveness in global markets.

Abstract

Abstract

This study looked at how Gowa Regency's population, economic growth, and HDI affected income inequality between 2014 and 2023. Multiple linear regression analysis is the quantitative method employed in this study. The findings show that whereas economic development has no discernible impact on income inequality, the population variable has a positive and considerable impact. On the other hand, Gowa Regency's income disparity is significantly and negatively impacted by the Human Development Index (HDI). To get more thorough and reliable results, future researchers interested in related subjects are urged to increase the sample size and include more variables.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of internal factors in the form of curiosity, self-determination, and digital mindset on the level of digital literacy of students in the context of implementing the Smart School program at SMA Negeri 13 Takalar. Using a quantitative approach with descriptive and verification methods, data were obtained from 65 respondents through a Likert scale questionnaire. The results of the regression analysis showed that the three independent variables had a positive and significant effect on students' digital literacy. Self-determination was the factor with the largest contribution, followed by digital mindset and curiosity. The determination coefficient of 75.9% indicates that most of the variation in digital literacy can be explained by these three variables. This finding emphasizes the importance of students' psychological readiness, not only the provision of technological infrastructure, in supporting digital learning. The implications of this study indicate the need for learning strategies that focus on developing students' character and internal competencies so that the transformation of digital education can run optimally
