Abstract

Perubahan iklim yang disebabkan oleh peningkatan emisi gas rumah kaca, terutama karbon dioksida (CO₂), menjadi tantangan besar bagi keberlanjutan ekosistem dan kehidupan manusia. Hutan kota berfungsi sebagai salah satu solusi mitigasi perubahan iklim melalui penyimpanan karbon yang dapat mengurangi konsentrasi CO₂ di atmosfer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi peran komposisi vegetasi dalam penyimpanan karbon di Hutan Kota Baruga, Kota Kendari. Metode penelitian menggunakan non destrutive sampling, penggunaan model allometrik pohon bercabang dan pohon tidak bercabang. Analisis simpanan karbon mengunakan nilai koefisian kaerbon 0,47%, serta simpanan emisi menggunakan perbandingan mol CO₂ dan C yang tersimpan Hasil penelitian menunjuhkan total simpanan karbon di Hutan Kota Baruga adalah 0,2167 ton/ha, dengan total simpanan CO₂ mencapai 0,4610 ton/ha. Famili Fabaceae menunjukkan simpanan karbon tertinggi, yaitu 0,0408 ton/ha, berkat kemampuannya dalam memperbaiki nitrogen tanah melalui simbiosis dengan bakteri Rhizobium, yang mendukung pertumbuhannya yang cepat dan efisien dalam menyerap karbon. Sebaliknya, famili Myrtaceae dan Elaeocarpaceae memiliki simpanan karbon yang lebih rendah, masing-masing 0,0013 ton/ha dan 0,0027 ton/ha, yang menunjukkan keterbatasan dalam adaptasi terhadap kondisi lingkungan. Faktor abiotik seperti suhu, kelembapan, dan ketersediaan air turut memengaruhi kapasitas simpanan karbon. Hutan Kota Baruga berperan penting dalam mitigasi perubahan iklim, dan pengelolaan hutan yang berkelanjutan dapat meningkatkan kapasitas penyimpanan karbon, memperkuat kontribusinya terhadap pengurangan emisi CO₂, serta mendukung keseimbangan ekosistem perkotaan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam pengembangan kebijakan mitigasi perubahan iklim di Kota Kendari.

Abstract

Abstract: Agroforestry is a strategy in community forest management that plays an important role in land conservation and food provision. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of farmers, the classification of agroforestry systems, the application of agroforestry patterns, and the types of plants that make up the agroforestry land of farmer groups in Andalambe Village, North Tongauna District, Konawe Regency. This study used a descriptive qualitative and quantitative approach, interviews, and field observations. The descriptive method was used to describe the classification of agroforestry system implementation, agroforestry patterns, and types of plants in the study location. The results showed that the agroforestry classification applied by farmers was the agrisilviculture system, with 27% of farmers applying the alternate rows agroforestry pattern and 73% applying the random mixture agroforestry pattern. The types of plants used in agroforestry included forestry plants, plantation plants, and agricultural plants, with a total of fourteen types of plants recorded. The types of plants used were dominated by those for forest and land conservation (23%) and for sustainable local food supply (20%). This study is expected to contribute to the development of a community-based agroforestry forest management model to support forest and land conservation and sustainable food supply.

Abstract

Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan getah pinus dalam skema kehutanan sosial di Indonesia memiliki potensi ekonomi yang signifikan bagi masyarakat pedesaan, namun masih dibatasi oleh kelemahan struktural dalam institusi lokal, teknologi produksi, dan akses pasar. Analisis model bisnis yang ada mengungkapkan bahwa teknologi pemanenan yang terbatas, ketergantungan pada satu saluran pemasaran, kapasitas organisasi yang lemah, dan kurangnya diversifikasi produk membatasi daya tawar dan mengurangi nilai tambah ekonomi bagi para penyadap getah. Integrasi Business Model Canvas dan SWOT menempatkan bisnis tersebut dalam kuadran kelemahan-peluang, menunjukkan perlunya analisis perubahan strategi untuk mengatasi keterbatasan internal sambil memanfaatkan peluang pasar yang muncul. Model bisnis berkelanjutan yang menjamin tekanan penguatan institusi masyarakat, peningkatan praktik pemanenan, formalisasi kemitraan, diversifikasi pasar dan proposisi nilai, serta investasi pada produk-produk baru dengan nilai tambah yang lebih tinggi untuk meningkatkan stabilitas pendapatan dan ketahanan bisnis jangka panjang. Temuan ini berkontribusi pada pengetahuan yang berkembang tentang model bisnis berkelanjutan untuk produk hutan non-kayu dalam konteks kehutanan sosial, yang menggambarkan bagaimana strategi integrasi desain model bisnis dan penguatan kelembagaan dapat mendukung hasil triple-bottom-line. Studi ini menggarisbawahi peran diversifikasi pasar, peningkatan kapasitas, dan kolaborasi kelembagaan sebagai pendorong utama untuk meningkatkan daya saing usaha resin berbasis komunitas.

Abstract

Purpose: Conventional farming practices that rely heavily on inorganic fertilizers have contributed to soil degradation and declining land productivity in many rural areas. This community service program was implemented to strengthen farmers’ capacity in adopting sustainable land-management practices that restore soil health and support long-term agricultural productivity. Method: The program employed contextual agricultural extension combined with Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) to explore farmers’ perceptions, challenges, and existing practices. This was followed by an intensive two-month coaching period involving weekly field visits, hands-on training, and collaborative development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and group action plans for sustainable land management. The final stage consisted of systematic monitoring and evaluation to assess skill acquisition, behavioral change, and adoption levels among partner farmer groups. Practical Applications: The program facilitated the joint production and application of organic fertilizer using locally available crop residues. This activity served as both a practical demonstration of sustainable nutrient management and an alternative to residue burning, which commonly contributes to soil degradation. Conclusion: Findings show that many farmers lacked knowledge regarding soil quality, particularly the role of organic matter in maintaining soil fertility. Through capacity building, hands-on training, and participatory learning, the program successfully enhanced farmers’ awareness, skills, and commitment to improving soil health. The results indicate that strengthened ecological literacy can support the transition toward more sustainable and productive farming systems within the partner community.

Abstract

Purpose: This program aimed to enhance elementary students’ understanding of biopore infiltration holes as a low-cost solution for mitigating waterlogging and addressing inadequate drainage at SDN 100 Kendari. Method: The intervention combined interactive lectures, live demonstrations, hands-on construction, and guided discussions. Learning outcomes were evaluated using standardized pre-test and post-test instruments. Practical Applications: The activity enabled students to construct functional biopores that improve groundwater absorption, reduce surface runoff, and facilitate organic waste management, providing a replicable framework for school-based environmental management. Conclusion: Student comprehension significantly increased from 10–20% to 80–90%. These results demonstrate that participatory environmental education effectively fosters ecological literacy and supports localized flood mitigation in urban school settings.
