Abstract

The preparation of final assignments/scientific articles carried out by students is often faced with various problems. One of them is the difficulty in finding a reference source / reference for making a final project/ scientific article and the limited skills of students in using citation and reference software: mendeley. This community service aims to improve skills in using mendeley and utilizing library sources for students. Participants consisted of 186 people from 23 university in Indonesia, who were obtained through random samplingThe data was collected online using 10 questions related to the skill of using Mendeley with the Guttman Scale model (multiple choice). Data were analyzed using nonparametric statistical techniques using the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The findings show that content mastery services with virtual workshops are effective in improving mendeley skills and utilization of student library resources.

The data was collected using a writing apprehension scale, consisting of 26 statements of anxiety about writing in general that were given online. The research data were analyzed using the Rasch model by testing variable maps, and subtotal specifications. The findings discovers that students who have never written will experience more writing anxiety than students who have had writing experience. Abstract

The emergence of aggressiveness among students requires attention from various parties, especially schools. The direction of this research is to develop and examine the validity of the Junior Students Aggressive Behavior Inventory (J-SABI), to know the level of suitability and item’s difficulty level, also to know the variable maps of the person’s ability to answer an item’s ability to describe aggressive behavior. The sample of this study consist of 360 with the number of items was 47. The analytical technique that used was Rasch model to examine the reliability, instrument validity, item’s validity, the function of differential items, and the validity of the ranking scale. The result shows that overall inventory which developed was valid and reliable (person reliability consist of 0.89 and item reliability 0.98). The validity of the instrument respondents using variable maps show the Item P15 is a matter of the highest difficulty level (+0.69 logit), which means the probability of all the students to work on this matter right is small. As for the P52 is a matter that almost all students can work properly, logit value is low (-0.80 logit). The value of Andrich Threshold moving from option 1 (none), then to the second choice (logit -0.50), option 3 (-0.30 logit), selection 4 (-0.19), and the option 5 (+1.00 logit), indicates the five choices answer given are valid for respondents

Abstract

This study aims to describe differences in narcissism and social media addiction based on gender, social demographics, and use of social media. This research is a comparative student, the sample for this study amounted to 123 students in Vocational High School (SMK) in DKI Jakarta. There are two instruments used in this study, namely, the narcissistic instrument (22 items) and the social media addiction instrument (17 items). Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and Multivariate One-Way Analysis of Variance Model (MANOVA). The findings for this study indicate that there are significant differences in narcissistic and social media addiction variables based on gender, number of social media accounts, and gender-daily internet access. In addition, there is a significant difference in social media addiction based on domicile. Gender and the order of children in the family are also significantly different on the variables of social media addiction. Based on the results of this study, it is hoped that further researchers will link other variables (for example: self-esteem, loneliness, subjective well-being, stress, etc.) to prevent narcissistic behavior and social media addiction in education.

Abstract

This study attempts to evaluate the Indonesian adaptation of the DASS-21, a scale adapted from Peter F. and Sydney H. Lovibond 1995 to assess levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. Multistage random sampling taking from 1478 Indonesian. Additionally, we use The Rasch measurement model to examine psychometric properties of DASS-21. The results indicate that the DASS-21 fulfills the psychometric measurement aspect by providing evidence as a valid and reliable instrument, with a very good item reliability value .99 and sufficient person reliability (.89), as well as a Cronbach alpha value KR-20.  of .91, meaning that the quality of the items is very good for revealing depression, anxiety, and stress. Furthermore, the results are reinforced by the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) value to the residual of 39.7%, meaning that the items in DASS-21 are representative for measuring depression, anxiety, and stress. Therefore, it can be said that the DASS-21 is valid and reliable for assessing the levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. The Indonesian translation of the DASS-21 constructs can also be used to assess the stress, anxiety, and depression levels.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the condition of students' academic stress and examine differences in academic stress in male and female students after the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is a comparative research obtained through random sampling. The sample of this study was 118 students consisting of several high schools in Padang City. Data was collected with an academic stress scale with 57 items. The analysis technique uses the item response theory (IRT) approach with the Rasch Model analysis. This study examines descriptive and differences with Welch with the help of WINSTEPS Version 4.7.0. The results show that there is a significant difference between male and female academic stress. Other findings found that women's academic stress tended to be higher than that of men, and what was interesting from this data was that there was a woman who was at the highest logit or an outlier, meaning that this woman needed to be given intervention to reduce her stress by providing individual counseling services. Based on the results of this study it is hoped that school counselors will focus more on women for academic stress prevention programs.

Abstract

Rapid technological developments make it easier for humans to carry out daily activities. Technology that is experiencing very rapid development today is information technology, one of which is a smartphone. Smartphones require internet access to be able to perform as a sophisticated mobile phone. The purpose of this study is to measure the difference in fear of missing out (FoMO) internet students based on gender, faculty, and domicile based on the area of residence. The method in this study uses descriptive comparative, which combines two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) with Rasch racking model by transforming raw data into logarithmic data. The data in this study were five-point Likert scale polytomy data collected using the FoMO scale instrument which was disseminated online and the research data were analyzed using the Rasch model. The findings show that there are significant differences in FoMO internet in terms of men and women. Furthermore, this study discusses differences in the FoMO internet regarding faculty and domicile, therefore a context is needed to improve the alignment program with technology counseling.
