The development of technology affects the education sector in urban and rural areas. Teachers-students in rural areas find it difficult to apply it for some reasons. Therefore, teachers must be more creative and innovative in the learning-teaching process besides using technology, such as pictures. This research describes students' ability to write simple English sentences using pictures. The type of this research is descriptive quantitative. The respondents were tenth-grade students of SMA Negeri 29 Halmahera Selatan, which consisted of 13 males and seven females. The data were collected through an English simple sentence test consisting of 4 pictures. Each student wrote five sentences in a picture. This research showed that the mean score of students' ability to write simple English sentences using pictures is 2.95, referring to the good category. This research recommends that future research investigate the effectiveness of pictures as media used in rural and urban areas' learning-teaching process.

The vaccination policy is a government effort to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the narrative, participation, and level of social trust in the vaccination policy in online social networks. Online social networks such as Twitter are the dominant media used during the pandemic period. As for the use of the Nvivo 12 Plus analysis software, the method was chosen to maximize the results of data coding from Twitter data sources. This study indicates that low social trust can hinder vaccination policies in Indonesia. This situation also affects the community's collective interest and cooperative attitude to support the government's efforts to reduce the number of cases of COVID-19 infection.

This paper aims to describe the practice of dynastic politics that occurred in Banten and the strategies carried out by local elites in carrying out dynastic politics. In addition, this paper also aims to analyze how the impact caused by the existence of dynastic politics in Banten. This article is based on data obtained from literature studies where the literature used comes from journal articles, theses, and is accompanied by those that are relevant to the research topic. The collected data is then processed and analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that the practice of dynastic politics can be seen from the mapping of the power network followed by members of the Ratu Atut Chosiyah (RAC) family. The practice of dynastic politics was carried out with several strategies ranging from violent positioning, branding and segmenting to attract voters to placing relatives in many government and business positions. The dynastic politics not only causes the low political participation of the people but also shows the low quality of democracy in Banten. This paper concludes that democratization that gives power to the people is actually used by the oligarchic regime through the practice of dynastic politics for their own interest.

Black campaigns that occurred in 2014 and 2019 also have the potential to emerge in the 2024 general elections in Indonesia. Not only does black campaigning have the potential to create public distrust of a fair electoral process, but it also has the potential to polarize society. This phenomenon has not been scientifically considered in previous studies. This study focuses on the question, "What is the potential for black campaigns that occurred in 2014 and 2019 to emerge in the 2024 general election in Indonesia?" This qualitative study investigates the forms and patterns of black campaign narratives disseminated through online media coverage. The findings of this study show that the black campaign that occurred in 2014 has the same pattern and narrative in 2019. Issues such as the involvement of the Indonesian Communist Party, Race, Human Rights, Radicalism, and Religion became issues that did not appear in the black campaign in the 2014 and 2019 general elections. The patterns and narratives of black campaigns that occurred in 2014 and 2019 can be used as references and preferences in looking at black campaign issues that have the potential to appear in the 2024 general elections. This study also recommends the importance of analyzing the factors that influence the emergence of black campaigns with the same patterns and narratives in 2014 and 2019 that have the potential to appear in the 2024 general elections in Indonesia.

The rules and attitudes of Muslim worship during the Covid-19 pandemic are still continuously applied by the Masjid Gede Mataram Kotagede Yogyakarta in the post-pandemic period. Studies that have discussed this phenomenon focus on the adaptation and recovery process of religious activities, so they have not comprehensively discussed the rules and attitudes of post-pandemic Muslim worship. This study focuses on the question, "How are the rules and attitudes of worship chosen and implemented by Muslims in the post-pandemic?" This study uses a descriptive-qualitative approach conducted on the congregation/jama’ah, which actively practices the five daily prayers in the congregation of the post-pandemic. These Muslims were interviewed intensively to obtain data on the activities, rules, and attitudes of worship chosen and practised post-pandemic. This study shows that the post-pandemic worship rules and attitudes of Muslims can no longer return to normal in the new normal era because they are influenced by structural and cultural factors formed during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study recommends explaining post-pandemic Muslim worship rules and attitudes by interviewing more macro and comparative Muslim communities.

This research was intended to determine the infrastructural barriers of the PKB political party in encouraging its cadres to become contestants in the presidential and vice-presidential elections from 2004 to 2019. During the four presidential and vice-presidential elections, PKB, one of Indonesia's largest Islamic parties, was absent from sending its cadres as contestants. This failure is suspected to result from infrastructural obstacles that intersect with PBNU's political interests. This research used a qualitative approach by combining interviews with documentation data and direct observations in the field. Interview data findings were used as a guide for finding online or offline documentation data. Both findings confirmed each other and were combined with observational data as a data validation method. Data presentation was carried out in three main stages. Namely, data findings were reduced according to research needs and elaborated using Anthony Giddens' structuration thinking. The data findings in this research reveal that there are infrastructural obstacles in the form of organizational patrons that disrupt the independence of PKB. There is also extra organizational power from the NU autonomous division, which is suspected to have sectoral interests. Apart from that, external intervention makes PKB's political steps less flexible.

After the 2019 election, Indonesia is facing changes in political and religious life. In political life, the use of ethnic identity appears as a voter. Meanwhile, in terms of religion, the forces of Islamic conservatism and populism have emerged that have disrupted electoral democracy. The issue of identity politics, Islamic conservatism and populism will continue to grow if the moderate Islamic forces of Muhammadiyah and NU do not appear in political and religious life. The hope of a civilized and non-discriminatory democratic life in the strength of moderate Islam. If the power of moderate Islam is weak, then the power of Islamic conservatism with the power of identity politics and Islamic populism will become a real form of challenge to Indonesian democracy. This article aims to explain the three main challenges of Indonesian democracy after the 2019 Presidential Election, namely the rise of Identity politics; the rise of political Islamism which is compounded in Indonesian political practices. How both of them come into contact with political practices in Indonesia, so that it has an impact on Islamic politics today.

Purpose: This study explores Muslim perceptions and evaluations of virtual Hajj within the metaverse, focusing on its acceptance as a religious practice. Methodology: Utilising a qualitative descriptive approach, data were sourced from online news articles identified using the search term "Metaverse Hajj Discourse" on Google. These articles were analyzed to understand the diverse perspectives within the Muslim community regarding virtual Hajj. Findings: The research reveals that while Muslims acknowledge the educational and preparatory benefits of virtual Hajj, it is largely rejected as a legitimate form of fulfilling the religious obligations of Hajj, due to its failure to encapsulate the physical and spiritual elements of the pilgrimage. Research Implications: This study highlights the need for a nuanced understanding of virtual religious practices, suggesting that while such technologies can augment the educational aspects of religious rituals, they cannot replace the physical acts prescribed by religious doctrines. Originality/Value: The research contributes to the emerging discourse on religious practices within digital spaces, offering insights into the intersection of technology and traditional religious practices, and setting a foundation for future theological discussions on virtual reality's role in religion.
