Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the legal position of Towani Tolotang in the case of restrictions on religion in Indonesia. This paper is based on research toward the Towani Tolotang community in the Sidenreng Rappang Regency. Towani Tolotang is a local religion that continues to survive despite attempts to disband its followers, efforts which come not only from groups which disagree with the religion’s existence, but is also from the state. The discrimination experienced by followers of Towani Tolotang comes from two directions: first, from the public in the form of assumptions which denounce them, and second, from the government through a variety of regulations which limit the space for followers of Towani Tolotang to develop its teachings.

Abstract

This study aims to show whether Twitter analysis can predict and forecast candidates in the Indonesian presidential election in 2024. This study was conducted long before the election began. To reduce the gap and utopian attitude in analyzing, two forms of analysis were used at once, namely sentiment analysis and text searches on Twitter data. This study uses a quantitative approach with descriptive content analysis. The data was obtained from Twitter social media, with Twitter Search focusing on official accounts and topics surrounding the 2024 presidential election. The search and data collection first adjusted to the trend of poll results spread in online news. The trend resulting from the poll is used to adjust the names of candidates to be searched for on Twitter search. The analysis tool used also utilizes the Nvivo 12 Plus analysis software. This study succeeded in mapping out three potential candidates in the 2024 election, namely Anies Baswedan, Ganjar Pranowo, and Prabowo Subianto. The mapping of potential candidates also has correspondence with the results of opinion polls in newspapers. From these findings, the information and data on Twitter help make predictions and an alternative to using the poll method. The drawback of this study lies in the limited use of time, so it is recommended that further research be carried out to collect and analyze similar data regularly until the election period. This may indicate that Twitter can predict earlier or better than polls.

Abstract

This study analyses the acculturation of Islam to the Ambelu tradition in the celebration of the Maulid Nabi in Bontomanai Subdistrict, Selayar Islands Regency through a comparison of the views of the al-Shafi'i and Hanafi Madhhab. This study aimed to examine whether this practice correlated with Islamic law or contained elements of bid'ah and to assess how local cultural acculturation influenced the implementation of the tradition in the context of religious celebrations. A qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach was used in this study. Data collection included direct observation, interviews with religious leaders and local communities, as well as a review of related documents. The analysis was further carried out by comparing the perspectives of the al-Shafi'i and Hanafi Madhhab on the Ambelu tradition and the concept of bid'ah in Islam. The results showed that the Ambelu tradition was widely accepted by the local community as part of religious culture, despite various opinions among scholars regarding the legal status. The al-Shafi'i Madhhab tended to be more permissive of this practice, while the Hanafi Madhhab adopted a more cautious stance in the context of bid'ah. This study was original in the comparative analysis of two fiqh madhhab in examining local traditions that rarely receive academic attention. Additionally, it also offered fresh insights into the interaction between Islamic law and local culture in Selayar. The results emphasized the importance of a contextual method to studying local traditions in Islam and outlined the relevance of maintaining harmony between culture and religion in society.

Abstract

Digital technology has become a certainty in the government development agenda. Currently, the presence of digital government is considered the final point of achievement in e-government development. So far, many digital government development initiatives have been carried out at the local government level. Still, there has not been any research that examines the extent to which digital government development has been carried out at the district/city level using a variable approach to the digital government evolution classification. This research is to fill the void. This research uses secondary data from literature publications of scientific articles related to digital government in the two cities, namely Samarinda City and Balikpapan City. The search for data related to digital government uses the Google Scholar database as a data source. The data search stage is carried out using the Publish or Perish software to classify the resulting publications based on the theme's relevance. Research findings show an increasing research trend and continue to fluctuate every year. The focus of the issues and dominant themes presented have provided new information and understanding regarding how digital governance in the two cities has been implemented so far. Furthermore, the findings of this study also show that, in general, the level of evolution of digital government in both towns in Samarinda City and Balikpapan City has existed in the four available evolutionary stages. Still, some steps are dominant, and others are not dominant.

This research was conducted using empirical research methods with a qualitative-descriptive approach. The data collection technique used was interviewing key information, namely Muhammadiyah cadres and literature studies in the form of writing related to the discussion. Abstract

In Indonesia, the rise of radicalism in the digital age has facilitated the spread of radical movements, particularly across social media networks. Radicalism has manifested in physical violence, often resulting in significant human casualties. This research investigates how internet media influences public literacy in countering terrorism in Indonesia. This study uses discourse analysis to examine secondary data from social media content on Twitter, Instagram, and online news sources concerning counter-radicalism and anti-terrorism efforts. These data sources are selected based on the premise that Internet media is a primary communication tool for disseminating public discourse. Additionally, the National Counter Terrorism Agency (NCTA), as a governmental body, plays a critical role in combating terrorism in Indonesia. The findings reveal that social media effectively enhances public literacy on radicalism and terrorism. Moreover, NCTA's initiatives have successfully mobilised community engagement against terrorism and radicalism in the public sphere. This research demonstrates that NCTA can significantly advance de-radicalisation efforts through the strategic use of internet media. NCTA's socialisation and de-radicalisation programs serve as crucial preventive measures against terrorism in Indonesia.

Abstract

: In the reform era, there was a transformation of the legal products of the Tarjih Muhammadiyah Council from monodisciplinary to multidisciplinary. One of the new products is fiqh which carries the concept of responsive fiqh. The issue of ecological politics in Indonesia is the dominant issue responded to. This research seeks to reveal the shift in the concept of fiqh muhammadiyah from monodisciplinary to multidisciplinary and criticalism fiqh muhammadiyah respond to the political constellation of ecological law in Indonesia in the reform era. The research uses normative legal research methods with a political approach to law. Data was collected through literature research. The results of this study indicate that Muhammadiyah jurisprudence is a new paradigm of responsive jurisprudence that is in line with the spirit of tajdid and ijtihad. The factor of the shift in the legal products of the Tarjih Assembly is largely determined by the role of the chairman of the Tarjih Assembly itself. Of the many fiqh products issued by the Tarjih Assembly, this study highlights Muhammadiyah fiqh products related to ecology. First, water fiqh responds to the alarming and global water crisis. In addition, water fiqh is also the basis for Muhammadiyah to conduct a judicial review of Law No. 7 of 2004 concerning Water Resources (SDA) which was granted by the Constitutional Court, in this context there is accommodation of water fiqh in ecological politics in Indonesia. Second, disaster jurisprudence responds more to social problems that are also connected to ecological problems in the disaster sector and there is no contestation or accommodation in the context of ecological legal politics. Third, Agrarian Jurisprudence responds to various agrarian problems in Indonesia such as food self-sufficiency, environmental damage, agrarian conflicts, indigenous peoples, and housing and access to public space. So that in this Fikih there is contestation with state policies in ecological politics. so that Muhammadiyah Fikih takes a role in efforts to realize a democratic political configuration that seeks to contribute fully and egalitarian to actively influence government policies.
