Abstract

This study is motivated by science learning, specifically food chain material in elementary schools, which still faces challenges in the form of limited media and low student engagement. Teachers generally use lecture methods and conventional media, making learning monotonous and less interesting. The use of Android application-based digital media developed with the Kodular platform has been proven to increase motivation and learning outcomes. Before developing learning aids, a needs analysis is required to ensure the product's suitability with learning conditions in the field. This study aims to analyze the need for developing Kodular-based interactive learning aids on food chain material for fifth-grade elementary school students. The research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation and interviews with teachers and students at SD Negeri 112/I Perumnas. The analysis results show that students need learning media that is interesting, interactive, and easy to understand, while teachers require practical and effective digital aids to explain abstract concepts visually. These findings form an important basis for developing Kodular-based interactive learning aids that align with the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum and the characteristics of elementary school students.

Abstract

Adolescents are vulnerable to nutrition-related problems due to unhealthy eating patterns and limited nutrition literacy. Strengthening nutrition knowledge through engaging, interactive, and participatory approaches is essential to support healthier decision-making. This community service program aimed to improve junior high school students’ understanding of balanced nutrition through a participatory education model integrating creative media and interactive games. The intervention was conducted at junior high school 14 Padang in September 2025 involving 57 ninth-grade students. Educational activities included a structured presentation, visual materials such as posters and leaflets, and interactive nutrition games based on the “Tumpeng Gizi Seimbang” and “Isi Piringku” concepts. Knowledge assessment used pre-test and post-test questionnaires, and data were analyzed using paired sample t-test. Results showed a significant improvement in students’ knowledge (p = 0.001), with the proportion categorized as having high knowledge increasing from 75.4% to 87.7%. These findings highlight the effectiveness of combining participatory strategies with creative media and interactive activities in enhancing adolescents’ understanding of balanced nutrition. The implications of this program indicate that, when implemented consistently and supported by the school environment, participatory approaches may contribute to more sustained improvements in students’ nutrition-related awareness. Schools are encouraged to incorporate interactive media in health education and conduct periodic follow-up activities to maintain knowledge retention.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of the Make A Match learning model assisted by KaJeGa media (Kartu Jelajah Gaya) on the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students on the topic Force in Everyday Life. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population consisted of all fourth-grade students at UPT SDN 066053 Medan in the 2025/2026 academic year, totaling 37 students. The sampling technique used was total sampling, with class IV B as the experimental group and class IV A as the control group. Data were collected through observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test that had been validated and tested for reliability. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and inferential statistics through the Independent Samples t-Test with the assistance of SPSS software. The results showed that the average pretest score in the experimental class increased from 51.58 to 81.32 in the posttest, while the control class increased from 44.17 to 73.17. The hypothesis testing results indicated a significance value of 0.014 < 0.05, which means there is a significant effect of the Make A Match learning model assisted by KaJeGa media on students’ science learning outcomes. Therefore, the Make A Match learning model assisted by KaJeGa media is effective in improving students’ learning outcomes on the topic of force.

Abstract

Masalah gizi lebih pada balita merupakan tantangan kesehatan masyarakat yang terus meningkat di Indonesia dan berpotensi menimbulkan dampak jangka panjang terhadap kesehatan anak. Kondisi ini berkaitan erat dengan perubahan pola konsumsi, pola asuh makan, dan gaya hidup keluarga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan profil risiko gizi lebih pada balita berdasarkan kelompok umur dan jenis kelamin di wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas Tuo Pasir Mayang tahun 2025. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif kuantitatif dengan memanfaatkan data sekunder dari aplikasi Elektronik Pencatatan dan Pelaporan Gizi Berbasis Masyarakat (EPPBGM). Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh balita yang tercatat pada bulan Agustus 2025 sebanyak 530 anak. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis univariat berupa distribusi frekuensi dan persentase untuk menggambarkan karakteristik status gizi balita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proporsi balita berisiko mengalami gizi lebih sebesar 14,5%. Dari kelompok balita berisiko gizi lebih tersebut proporsi berdasarkan jenis kelamin relatif seimbang, yaitu laki-laki 49,4% dan perempuan 50,6%. Berdasarkan kelompok umur, balita usia 24–59 bulan memiliki proporsi risiko tertinggi (49,3%), diikuti usia 6–23 bulan (42,9%) dan usia 0–5 bulan (7,8%). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa wilayah kerja UPTD Puskesmas Tuo Pasir Mayang menghadapi beban risiko gizi lebih balita yang cukup tinggi, terutama pada kelompok usia di atas dua tahun. Oleh karena itu diperlukan penguatan upaya promotif dan preventif berbasis keluarga melalui edukasi gizi, peningkatan kapasitas kader, serta pemantauan pertumbuhan secara berkelanjutan. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar bagi puskesmas dan pemerintah daerah dalam merancang kebijakan dan intervensi pencegahan obesitas anak secara terintegrasi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the local wisdom values contained in the menyumbun tradition and its relevance to Integrated Science and Social Studies (IPAS) learning in Grade IV of elementary school. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. Data were collected through interviews with community leaders and elementary school teachers, observations, and documentation. The results indicate that the menyumbun tradition contains ecological, social, educational, and spiritual values. Ecological values are reflected in environmental conservation practices and sustainable resource use. Social values are shown through cooperation and solidarity among community members. Educational values appear in the intergenerational transmission of knowledge through experiential learning. Spiritual values are demonstrated in gratitude and religious awareness in utilizing natural resources. Furthermore, the tradition aligns with IPAS learning objectives in Phase B of the Merdeka Curriculum, particularly in ecosystem concepts, natural resource utilization, environmental conservation, and social interaction. Therefore, the menyumbun tradition has strong potential as a contextual and local wisdom-based learning resource in elementary education.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model on students' critical thinking skills in Mathematics learning for fifth graders at SDN 101775 Sampali. This research was conducted at SDN 101775 Sampali using a Quasi-Experimental Design with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The subjects in this study were fifth grade students at SDN 101775 Sampali, consisting of two classes totaling 62 students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation and tests. The instrument used in this study was an essay test to measure students' critical thinking skills. The results of the study showed a significant and positive influence between before and after the implementation of the SSCS learning model in improving critical thinking skills in fifth-grade mathematics learning. This is evidenced by the results of the hypothesis test with a t-test obtained a significance value of 0.045 <0.05. This indicates that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Search, Solve, Create, and Share Learning Model on Students' Critical Thinking Skills in Fifth-grade Mathematics Learning at SDN 101775 Sampali.

Abstract

Rice production forecasting plays an important role in supporting future agricultural planning, food supply management, and food security. Accurate yield prediction allows governments and farmers to estimate production outcomes and develop appropriate strategies to maintain stable food availability.This study addresses this gap by comparing four regression-based machine learning models: Random Forest, XGBoost, Support Vector Regression (SVR), and Artificial Neural Network (ANN). All models were trained and tested using the same dataset to ensure a fair evaluation. Model performance was measured using the coefficient of determination (R²). The results show that Random Forest achieved the best performance (R² = 0.963), followed by XGBoost (R² = 0.959). In contrast, SVR (R² = -0.064) and ANN (R² = -2.417) performed poorly, indicating limited predictive capability. Overall, these findings suggest that ensemble-based methods, particularly Random Forest and XGBoost, are more reliable and effective for rice production forecasting compared to SVR and ANN.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of interest in learning mathematics among fourth-grade students at SDN 106161 Laut Dendang on the topic of geometry and to identify the factors that influence it. The study uses a quantitative approach with a descriptive method. The research subjects consisted of 32 students who were given a questionnaire containing 17 questions about their interest in learning mathematics on the subject of flat shapes. The results showed that 50% of students had a high interest in learning, while the other 50% showed a low interest in learning. This indicates that mathematics learning on the topic of geometry is not yet fully interesting for all students. Factors that influence learning interest include students' perceptions of the difficulty of the material, the learning methods used by teachers, the availability of learning media, and support from the surrounding environment. Recommended solutions include the application of interactive learning methods, the use of concrete and digital media, linking the material to everyday life, and increasing collaboration between teachers, students, and parents. This study is expected to provide input for teachers and schools to increase student interest and learning outcomes in mathematics.
