Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas validasi pengaruh jenis dan jumlah mesh terhadap hasil simulasi numerik fenomena ground effect pada airfoil NACA 4412 menggunakan perangkat lunak Ansys Fluent. Simulasi dilakukan pada kondisi dua dimensi dengan variasi tiga tingkatan mesh, yaitu mesh 1 (21.230 sel), mesh 2 (100.752 sel), dan mesh 3 (221.798 sel). Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan konfigurasi mesh yang optimal berdasarkan akurasi dan efisiensi waktu komputasi, serta memvalidasi hasil simulasi terhadap data eksperimen numerik dari penelitian sebelumnya oleh (Win & Thianwiboon, 2021). Parameter yang diamati meliputi koefisien lift (Cl), koefisien drag (Cd), kontur tekanan, dan kontur kecepatan. Validasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode uji independensi grid. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa mesh 2 memberikan kesesuaian terbaik terhadap data eksperimen dengan error Cl sebesar 2,12% dan Cd sebesar 15%. Simulasi menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan jumlah sel tidak selalu menghasilkan akurasi yang lebih baik. Oleh karena itu, pemilihan mesh yang tepat menjadi faktor penting dalam simulasi CFD yang efisien dan akurat.

Abstract

This quantitative study investigates the influence of critical thinking skills, self-efficacy, digital literacy, and internship experience on work readiness among vocational high school students. This research is motivated by the persistently high unemployment rates among vocational graduates in Indonesia, which reflect a gap between the skills acquired in school and those demanded by the job market. of the study involved 143 twelfth-grade students from SMK Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh and employed an explanatory quantitative approach. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using SmartPLS 3.0. The findings confirmed that the measurement model satisfied the required criteria for reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity. The structural model testing indicated that critical thinking skills, self-efficacy, and internship experience significantly and positively influenced work readiness, while digital literacy did not demonstrate significant effect. Furthermore, self-efficacy was found to partially mediate the correlation between critical thinking and internship experience with work readiness, although the effect sizes of these mediations were relatively small. These results emphasize the importance of enhancing critical thinking, building self-efficacy, and improving the quality of internship programs in the industry to increase vocational graduates' employability. The study highlights that fostering these factors in vocational education can better prepare students for the workforce. Future research is recommended to explore additional external factors that may influence work readiness, such as socio-economic status, personal motivation, or family background, and to broaden the sample size to improve the generalizability of the findings to a larger population.    Keywords: critical thinking skills, self-efficacy, digital literacy, industrial internship, students' work readiness.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in vocational schools requires systematic evaluation to ensure its effectiveness and relevance to industry needs. This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in the Welding Engineering Department of SMK Negeri 1 Bengkalis using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. A quantitative descriptive method was employed, involving teachers, students, and stakeholders as respondents. The context evaluation showed that curriculum goals were highly relevant and aligned with welding industry demands (85%, Very Good). Input evaluation indicated adequate teacher competence and learning materials, but limited infrastructure support (68%, Fair). The process evaluation revealed effective application of project-based learning, with high student engagement and active participation. Product evaluation showed that students achieved strong learning outcomes and welding competencies, and expressed general satisfaction with the curriculum. Overall, the results suggest that the Merdeka Curriculum is suitable for vocational education and supports student-centered learning. However, improvements in infrastructure and supervision are needed to strengthen the implementation. This study highlights the importance of ongoing curriculum evaluation to ensure alignment with industry expectations and the successful development of student competencies

Abstract

Traditional learning media tends to have limitations in providing interactive experiences that can stimulate better understanding. This is supported by changes in learning styles among students, influenced by extensive exposure to computers and the internet, leading students to prefer learning with the aid of visualizations. This research designs, develops, and tests a machine learning-based visualization tool integrated with the Streamlit framework to enhance students' understanding of the mechanical properties of materials. This visualization tool consists of four main features: data analysis, correlation analysis, 3D visualization, and prediction models using machine learning. The data used for training the machine learning model includes tensile test data of low-alloy steel, comprising mechanical properties, chemical elements, and heat treatment temperatures. The research results indicate that the visualization tool can illustrate the cause-and-effect relationships of parameters influencing the changes in the mechanical properties of low-alloy steel. Each feature in this visualization tool can be utilized to support the analysis of mechanical properties and improve students' understanding of material mechanical properties. Additionally, the visualization tool is evaluated by experts, with information accuracy scoring 4 in the good category, visualization quality at 4.25 in the good category, suitability for learning at 4 in the good category, and ease of use at 4.5 in the good category. Nevertheless, further research and development are needed to test and expand the use of this visualization tool in various learning contexts and other material fields.

Abstract

Thermodynamics is often considered difficult for students to grasp because it involves abstract concepts that are challenging to visualize without visual aids or physical demonstrations. This research involves the design of a mini power plant trainer as a teaching tool to visualize basic thermodynamics concepts, such as heat transfer, conversion of heat energy into mechanical energy, phase change from steam to liquid, and thermal efficiency. The trainer is designed according to the requirements of the system provided by the thermodynamics lecturer at the State University of Padang, taking into consideration the teaching material and safety aspects. The power plant trainer consists of four main components, including a boiler with a 15-liter water capacity equipped with an automatic sensor stove that can shut off when it reaches 4 bars of pressure and restarts when it drops below 4 bars, a single propeller turbine, a 12-volt generator, and a vertical condenser with coolant flow in the same direction as the steam flow. The testing results of the trainer yielded a boiler efficiency of 46%, thermal efficiency of 21%, with the steam power generated by the boiler at approximately 1734 Watts, condenser power at 1478 Watts, cooling power to convert wet steam into liquid at 119 Watts, and turbine power at 375 Watts. The maximum electrical power reached 2.94 Watts with a voltage of 12 volts and a current of 0.21 amperes. It took 31 minutes to heat 15 liters of water in the boiler to steam with a temperature of 146°C and a pressure of 58 Psi. The trainer can be operated (can rotate the generator) for 4 minutes until the steam pressure drops to 20 Psi. Based on the testing results, the trainer can be operated smoothly and is capable of illustrating difficult thermodynamics concepts that are hard to visualize. Therefore, in an effort to enhance the quality of learning, this trainer can be used as a simulation tool for thermodynamics education.

Abstract

Permasalahan pertama yang di alami petani padi adalah pengolahan jerami padi setelah proses panen padi, jerami yang sudah terendam air maka jerami sulit di bakar, waktu pelapukan jerami membutuhkan waktu yang lama sehinga mengakibatkan ada bagian sawah yang tidak termanfaatkan pada kumpulan jerami serta mengundang hama (tikus) di sawah petani. Permasalahan kedua dari petani padi adalah apabila jerami padi di bakar, hal ini mengakibatkan meningkatnya polusi dari asap pembakaran, pembakaran ini juga berdampak kepada hilangnya kesuburan tanah pada bagian sisa pembakaran sehingga mengakibatkan menurun nya hasil panen petani padi. Tujuan pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah untuk menyediakan Mesin Pencacah Jerami dalam meningkatkan efisiensi kinerja petani. Mesin Perajang/perajang Jerami merupakan salah satu per Mesinan usaha yang memiliki kegunaan untuk pencacah/perajang jerami. Metode yang digunakan adalah pengembangan teknologi tepat guna. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan melalui dua tahap, yaitu: tahap pertama, observasi dengan melakukan metode pengumpulan data dokumentasi dan diskusi dengan petani padi. Tahap kedua adalah tahap pengembangan mesin Perajang/perajang jerami. Hasil luaran utama yang dicapai dalam program ini adalah tersedianya mesin Perajang/perajang jerami. Hasil lain dari program ini adalah peningkatan wawasan dan pengetahuan tentang teknologi mesin Perajang/perajang jerami. serta meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat Kanagarian Padang Belimbing Kecamatan X Koto Singkarak Kabupaten Solok Sumatera Barat.

Abstract

Banyaknya angka pengangguran akan menimbulkan dampak sosial yang kurang baik di tengah masyarakat. Untuk itu perlu adanya upaya untuk meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat melalui pelatihan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan proses pelatihan dalam rangkan peningkatan kemampuan berwirausaha pembuatan bubuk kopi bagi ikatan pemuda di desa Cubadak Air dan Sikapak Barat. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan adalah metode ceramah dan demonstrasi. Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh 10 orang peserta yang berasal dari Desa Cubadak Air dan Sikapak Barat. Metode ceramah berupa penyampaian teori tentang kopi, teknik rosting, teknik grinding, packing dan pemasaran kopi. Metode demonstrasi digunakan mulai dari cara meroasting, menggrinding dan packing kopi. Hasil pelatihan terlihat bahwa peserta sangat termotivasi dan serius mengikuti pelatihan hal terlihat dari skor tes yang diberikan telah terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta tentang kopi, teknik roasting, grinding dan packing kopi dari rata-rata skor 63,0 menjadi 84,2. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa peserta mampu menyerap dengan baik pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang diberikan selama pelatihan. Diharapkan akan muncul wirausaha-wirausaha baru dalam bidang pembuatan bubuk kopi di daerah ini.

Abstract

Salah satu kompetensi krusial yang harus dikuasai oleh guru di era digital saat ini adalah penguasaan aplikasi komputer sebagai alat bantu dalam menggambar teknik. Autodesk Inventor termasuk salah satu software yang paling banyak digunakan baik oleh praktisi industri, peneliti maupun untuk keperluan edukasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melakukan analisis efektifitas pelatihan software Auto Desk Inventor bagi tenaga pengajar matakuliah mengambar teknik di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan di Sumatera Barat. Pelatihan ini menggunakan metode klasikal-demonstrasi dengan kegiatan berbasis project. Peserta diberi materi secara tersistematis dan dilanjutkan dengan tugas perancangan komponen mesin. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pelatihan software Auto Desk Inventor ini memberikan kontribusi dalam peningkatan kompetensi guru dalam bidang menggambar Teknik secara digital. Disamping itu, pengukuran tingkat kepuassan peserta menunjukan bahwa manajemen pelaksanaan kegiatan dan fasilitas pelatihan masuk dalam kategori sangat baik. Melalui pelatihan ini, diharapkan kemampuan tenaga pengajar mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan untuk menciptakan lulusan yang berkualitas dan berdaya saing.

Abstract

This research addresses the low student learning outcomes and the lack of facilitation of 4C competencies (Critical Thinking, Collaboration, Communication, and Creativity) in the Industrial Machine Electrical Systems (SKMI) subject for Grade XI TMI 1 students at SMK Negeri 1 Pariaman. The teacher-centered learning approach has led to passive student participation, low critical thinking, varying academic abilities, and difficulty in connecting theoretical concepts to real-life applications. The aim of this study is to improve students' 4C competencies and learning outcomes through the implementation of the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) cooperative learning model. Using Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, the study was conducted in three cycles: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects were 30 students from Grade XI TMI 1. Data collection included learning outcome tests and 4C competency observation sheets, with descriptive and quantitative data analysis. The results showed significant improvements: classical mastery increased from 27% to 90%, average learning scores rose from 67 to 81, and 4C competency mastery improved from 34% (low) to 82% (high). The study concludes that the TAI model effectively enhances both 4C competencies and learning outcomes in SKMI at SMK Negeri 1 Pariaman.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh sudut bukaan guide vane terhadap daya output dan efisiensi turbin crossflow pada Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Mikro Hidro (PLTMH) Lubuk Kilangan, Kota Padang. Pendekatan penelitian yang dilakukan melibatkan pemanfaatan metode simulasi Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) dengan menerapkan model turbulensi k-Epsilon RNG, yang diimplementasikan melalui perangkat lunak Ansys Fluent versi 2023 R2. Langkah simulasi CFD meliputi pembuatan desain menggunakan software Solidwork 2020 dengan memvariasikan besar sudut bukaan guide vane turbin yaitu sudut 53°, 64°, 75°, dan 86°, kemudian desain diekspor ke software Ansys. Selanjutnya, dilakukan proses meshing dan setting boundary condition. Langkah terakhir yaitu proses solution dan result untuk menampilkan output simulasi. Dari simulasi yang telah dilakukan didapatkan hasil bahwa sudut bukaan guide vane berpengaruh terhadap daya ouput dan efisiensi turbin crossflow, dimana semakin kecil sudut bukaan guide vane, daya output dan efisiensi turbin semakin meningkat. Daya tertinggi diperoleh pada sudut bukaan 53° yang menghasilkan daya ouput sebesar 7,16 kW dan efisiensi 81,1%.
