Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tiga tujuan. Pertama, mendeskripsikan keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 X Koto Tanah Datar sebelum menggunakan teknik mind mapping. Kedua, mendeskripsikan keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 X Koto Tanah Datar sesudah menggunakan teknik mind mapping. Ketiga, menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan teknik mind mapping terhadap keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 X Koto Tanah Datar. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan One Group Pretest-Posttest. Sampel yang digunakan dipilih dengan teknik Purposive Sampling. Data pada penelitian ini berbentuk skor yang dikonversi menjadi nilai berdasarkan dua kali uji keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi pada sampel. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah tes unjuk kerja.Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan menulis teks eksplanasi siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 X Koto Tanah Datar sesudah menggunakan teknik mind mapping lebih baik dibandingkan sebelum menggunakan teknik mind mapping. Dengan demikian, teknik mind mapping dapat diterapkan sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam pembelajaran keterampilan menulis.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in learning having turned into online distance learning. The learning is dominated by independent learning, even though the ability to socialize and work in teams is needed at this time. Collaborating is one of the skills needed in the 21st century. Students' opinions differ, because the rapid development of education or internet access does not guarantee the quality of education and student satisfaction. Based on this explanation, the purpose of this study was to determine student responses regarding group learning in online distance learning. This research is a descriptive research using survey method. The instrument used is a questionnaire sheet. The number of respondents who filled out the questionnaire was 484 students. Questionnaire data were analyzed by describing the findings obtained which were described through descriptive statistics. The results showed that students gave a positive response to implementing group learning during online distance learning, for the following reasons: the task was carried out more easily; can get help when experiencing difficulties; can discuss by expressing opinions; can share ideas with group members, etc. However, there are also some weaknesses in this learning, such as the role of group members; domination that works unevenly; talk a lot, etc.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) explaining there a contribution learning motivation in the exposition text writing skills students class X SMA Negeri 1 Kampar; (2) explaining there a contribution mastery of effective sentence in the exposition text writing skills students class X SMA Negeri 1 Kampar; and (3) explaining there a contribution learning motivation and mastery of effective sentence in the exposition text writing skills students class X SMA Negeri 1 Kampar. The research sample is taken 15% of the total population of students each class are 40 students. The data of this research is from the score result of learning motivation questionnaire, the score test results mastery of effective sentence and score test result exposition text writing skills that is converted into value. The results showed that the learning motivation and mastery of effective sentences can be used as predictors to improve learning outcomes exposition text writing skills. Therefore, to increase learning outcomes writing skills, the students are given the learning motivation to write and mastery of effective sentences.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode pembelajaran Reading To Learn terhadap keterampilan menulis teks cerpen siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 7 Padang. Penelitian jenis kuantitatif ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan desain pretest-posttest design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 7 Padang. Sampel yang peneliti ambil dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas XI. F3 yang berjumlah 36 orang Teknik analisis data yang digunakan diantaranya yaitu analisis deskripstif, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan siswa dalam menulis cerpen. Pada skor pretest menulis cerpen siswa diperoleh skor rata-rata sebesar 76,62, mengalami peningkatan pada skor posttest dengan rata-rata sebesar 81,71. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara metode pembelajaran Reading To Learn terhadap keterampilan menulis teks cerpen siswa kelas XI.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the way teachers in presenting and interacting in the online learning process of Indonesian subjects and to describe the study of Indonesian online learning subjects at State High School 1 Nan Sabaris. This is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The qualitative data were collected by using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The quantitative data were collected by using a questionnaire. The data sources in this study are two teachers of Indonesian subjects, the principal, and 30 students at SMA Negeri 1 Nan Sabaris. The instruments in this study are the researchers themselves for qualitative data and for quantitative data instruments are questionnaires. Data is analyzed by describing, analyzing, and discussing data based on theory. The theory used is related to the theory of online learning in Indonesian subjects. The results showed that the implementation of online learning subjects Indonesian at Sma Negeri 1 Nan Sabaris has been implemented but not yet maximal. The obstacles faced by teachers Indonesian are most widely found are unstable internet networks, technological limitations, and the neglect of students in the collection of tasks. The efforts of teachers to overcome the obstacles obtained in the implementation of online learning have not been fully resolved. Signal and technology constraints, for now, can not be overcome by teachers, but related to dereliction of duty, teachers always monitor and remind students to keep carrying out their duties well in the implementation of online learning in Indonesian learning.

Abstract

The goal of this study is to explain the contribution of discourse ability, logical thinking, discourse ability, and logical thinking ability for IX grade student’s editing skill of 12 Junior High School Padang. This is quantitative study with descriptive method and correlational design using. The population of this study are the 228 students of IX grade students at SMP Negeri 12 Padang. Samples comprises of 70 students were obtained using Cluster random sampling. The data is analyzed by using Pearson Product Moment (PPM) corelation test, multiple correlation tes, t test, F test, determinant coefficient formula to know how much independent variables contribute to dependent variables either alone or collectively. The result of this study is as follows. (1) Discourse ability gives significant 64% for editing skills because tcount > ttable or 11 > 1,671. (2) Logical thinking ability gives significant contribution 68,89% for editing skills because tcount > ttable or 12,21 > 1,671. (3) Discourse ability and logical thinking give significant contribution 70,56% for editing skill because F count > F table or 153,391 > 3,14. So, it could be concluded that discourse ability and logical thinking, either alone or collectively give significant contribution for editing skill of IX grade students of 12 Junior High School Padang.

Abstract

Learning to write scientific articles necessitates the development of creative ideas and concepts in order to produce high-quality work that is also novel. However, learning to write scientific articles has become uninteresting among students due to a lack of interest in reading, ineffective use of digital literacy services to obtain references, and difficulties in creatively expressing ideas in scientific writing. The research goal is to create a learning model for writing scientific articles based on blended learning and creative problem solving. The Plomp model is used in the research method, which has three stages: preliminary, prototype, and assessment. The research yielded a trilogy of models: model books, lecturer books, and student books. The trilogy of models is designed based on the results of needs and context analysis, analysis of learning model characteristics to write scientific articles in universities, and prototypes by designing model books, lecturer books, student books, and assessments. The assessment results show that: (a) the model book is 89,44%, the lecturer's book is 94,44%, and the student book is 91,67% very valid. (b) A practicality test revealed that 85% of model books, 85,71% of lecturer books, and 87,27% of student books were very practical. (c) The practical 87,602% very effective. The characteristics of the blended learning integrated creative problem-solving learning model for writing scientific articles are very interesting and creative when combined with two lecture methods between online and offline (hybrid) using blended learning to improve students' creative thinking skills. The learning process incorporates technology and blended learning components to help students understand and gain new experiences in creative writing of scientific papers.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini perkembangan teknologi semakin pesat dalam kehidupan manusia di berbagai macam bidang, salah satunya pada bidang pendidikan. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan Research and Development (RD). Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model 4-D terdiri dari empat tahapan, yaitu: 1) define, 2) design, 3) develop, dan 4) disseminate. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data instrumen angket yang disebarkan kepada siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 34 Padang. Berdasarkan hasil analisis angket kebutuhan siswa, mendapatkan hasil bahwa 83% siswa membutuhkan media pembelajaran digital. Terdapat 3 aspek pada angket penelitian, yaitu kebutuhan siswa dalam aspek proses pembelajaran memperoleh presentase 84%, kebutuhan siswa dalam aspek media pembelajaran 84%, dan kebutuhan siswa dalam aspek isi bahan ajar 80%. Hasil rata-rata presentase seluruh aspek, sebesar 83% sehingga masuk ke dalam kategori “sangat layak”. Dari hasil analisis angket kebutuhan siswa, disimpulkan perlunya peneliti mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa e-book interaktif berbasis kearifan lokal.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the effect of using the inquiring mind want to know technique assisted by audiovisual media in the learning outcomes of observation report text writing skills of class X students of SMA Negeri 1 Painan. This study was quantitative research that applied the experimental method with a 2×2 factorial design. Data collection was carried out by tests and questionnaires, tests were carried out to obtain data on the results of learning the skills of writing text reports on observations and questionnaires were carried out to obtain data on learning motivation. The data analysis process was carried out using the IMB SPSS Statistics 26 application. Based on the result of data analysis in this study, several conclusions were obtained. First, there was an influence of the use of the inquiring mind want to know technique assisted by audiovisual media on the learning outcomes of the writing skills of observation reports. Second, there is an effect of using the inquiring mind want to know technique assisted by audiovisual media on the learning outcomes of students' observational report writing skills with high learning motivation. Third, there is an effect of using the inquiring mind want to know technique assisted by audiovisual media on the learning outcomes of students' observational report writing skills with low learning motivation. Fourth, there is no interaction between the inquiring mind want to know technique assisted by audiovisual media and learning motivation in influencing the writing skills of observation report texts.

Abstract

In designing the course or part of the course such assessments, it is well-established to know the lecturers’ needs as the preliminary study. This study aims to investigate the lecturer’s needs regarding the assessment model for Basic Reading in higher education. The data were collected through interviews with three lecturers. The researchers used purposive sampling to select the participants from a private university in Padang City, West Sumatera, Indonesia. The data from the interview were analyzed qualitatively. It was found that the lecturers perceived that they needed to improve the quality of teaching and learning, especially in assessment. They need to implement an authentic blended assessment model oriented to self-directed learning in Basic Reading subject, because it helps students to be independent.
