Abstract

One form of divine education for humans is realized through the stories told in the Koran. The story of Ashabul Kahf is part of the Qur'anic narrative which is full of values of faith, steadfast principles, and divine protection for a group of young people who maintain monotheism amidst the pressures of an infidel environment. This research aims to reveal the thematic meaning of the story of Ashabul Kahf through a maudhu'i (thematic) tafsir approach, by tracing the verses of the QS. Al-Kahf: 9–26 and examines various interpretations from classical and contemporary scholars such as Ibn Kathir, Al-Maraghi, and M. Quraish Shihab. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive method, with data collection techniques through literature studies that examine various relevant academic literature sources. The research results show that the story of Ashabul Kahf contains the main message about steadfastness of faith (tsabat al-iman), moral courage, and total surrender to Allah as a form of pure monotheism. This story also affirms God's power over time and human life, while also reflecting that God's protection and help will always accompany His faithful and consistent servants. The story's relevance in the contemporary context is evident in efforts to foster the character of the younger generation of Muslims, ensuring they remain steadfast in the values of faith and integrity amidst the challenges of modernity

Abstract

This study examines the practice of polygamy from the perspective of Qur’an Surah An-Nisā’ verse 3, with particular attention to legal aspects and human rights related to its implementation. Polygamy, defined as a man’s marriage to more than one woman, is explicitly regulated in this verse with justice as its primary condition. Allah SWT sets a maximum limit of four wives, but only for those who are truly able to uphold justice among them. This study focuses on analyzing the meanings of key terms in the verse as well as understanding the concept of physical justice—such as the fulfillment of financial support, division of time, and responsibilities—and emotional justice related to feelings and affection. Although achieving perfect justice in emotional aspects is difficult, Islam emphasizes the obligation to be just in matters that can be practically regulated. Therefore, this research highlights that polygamy as mentioned in Qur’an Surah An-Nisā’ verse 3 is not merely a legal issue, but also a manifestation of moral responsibility and respect for the rights of wives. This approach is expected to provide a more equitable understanding of polygamy based on the principles of social justice and Islamic law.

Abstract

  This article aims to examine the transformation of the Qur’an from oral tradition to written manuscript as a pivotal event in the history of Islamic civilization. This process involved rigorous methodological steps and visionary strategic decisions, particularly during the caliphates of Abu Bakr and Uthman ibn Affan. Using a qualitative approach based on library research, this study explores the methods of compilation, verification, and standardization of the Qur’anic manuscripts, as well as their impact on the development of Islamic sciences and the unity of the Muslim community. The codification of the Qur’an not only preserved the authenticity of divine revelation across generations but also facilitated the spread of Islamic civilization to diverse regions worldwide. In the modern context, the digitalization of the Qur’an enhances accessibility but presents new challenges, such as ensuring the authenticity of texts in the digital era. This study provides a profound understanding of the relevance of Qur’anic codification as a foundation for Islamic scholarship and identity.

Abstract

Abstract This study analyzes the function of Fawatiḥ al-Suwar (the initial letters) in Surah Al-Baqarah, by examining the linguistic, theological, and thematic aspects contained in the structure of the Qur'an. The aim of this study is to strengthen the understanding that the initial letters such as Alif Lām Mīm are not merely sacred signs that have no meaning, but rather carry a deeper message that emphasizes the greatness of revelation and the unity of meaning in the following verses. This study applies a qualitative-descriptive method with a thematic and linguistic approach in the interpretation of the Qur'an, supported by research from the perspectives of both classical and modern exegetes. The results show that Fawatiḥ al-Suwar plays a role as an opener of divine communication, which strengthens the relationship between God, His Book, and humanity. In addition, the existence of these letters contains references to spiritual and moral values, including awareness of Tawhid, justice, and social and economic responsibility, as reflected in the contents of Surah Al-Baqarah. Thus, the muqatta'ah letters are not only a puzzle, but also a symbol of the magic of the Koran, which invites humanity to continue to ponder and understand the divine message more deeply. Keywords: Fawatiḥ al-Suwar, Al-Baqarah, disjointed letters, Qur’anic exegesis, divine communication   Abstrak Kajian ini menganalisis fungsi Fawatiḥ al-Suwar (huruf muqaṭta‘ah) di dalam Surat Al-Baqarah, dengan meneliti aspek linguistik, teologis, dan tematik yang ada dalam struktur Al-Qur'an. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memperkuat pemahaman bahwa huruf-huruf awal seperti Alif Lām Mīm bukanlah sekadar tanda suci yang tidak memiliki makna, melainkan membawa pesan yang lebih dalam yang menekankan kebesaran wahyu dan kesatuan makna dalam ayat-ayat selanjutnya. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode kualitatif-deskriptif dengan pendekatan tematik dan linguistik dalam penafsiran Al-Qur'an, yang didukung oleh penelitian dari sudut pandang para mufassir baik klasik maupun modern. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Fawatiḥ al-Suwar berperan sebagai pembuka jalur komunikasi ilahi, yang memperkuat hubungan antara Tuhan, Kitab-Nya, dan umat manusia. Selain itu, keberadaan huruf-huruf ini mengandung acuan pada nilai-nilai spiritual dan moral, termasuk kesadaran akan Tauhid, keadilan, serta tanggung jawab sosial dan ekonomi, seperti yang tercermin dalam isi Surat Al-Baqarah. Dengan demikian, huruf-huruf muqatta'ah tidak hanya merupakan suatu teka-teki, tetapi juga merupakan simbol keajaiban Al-Quran, yang mengajak umat manusia untuk terus merenungkan dan memahami pesan ilahi dengan lebih dalam. Kata Kunci: Fawatiḥ al-Suwar, Al-Baqarah, huruf muqaṭṭa‘ah, tafsir Qur’ani, komunikasi ilahi.

Abstract

Abstrak Studi tentang relevansi asbābul nuzūl sebagai konsep historis dalam ayat-ayat Al-Qur'an tetap menjadi topik krusial dalam bidang studi tafsir modern, karena membantu menjaga validitas interpretasi dan mencegah penyederhanaan berlebihan makna di tengah perubahan sosial dan kemajuan digital. Artikel ini berusaha mengungkap bagaimana asbābul nuzūl sebagai landasan historis ayat-ayat Al-Qur'an dapat menjadi dasar untuk penafsiran yang fleksibel dan kontekstual, dengan menganalisis peran konteks wahyu ayat-ayat dalam memahami pesan ilahi. Studi ini menerapkan metode kualitatif-deskriptif melalui analisis tafsir tematik (tafsīr maudhū‘ī) dan pendekatan hermeneutika historis, yang menekankan interaksi timbal balik antara teks, konteks, dan realitas sosial. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman asbābul nuzūl tidak hanya meningkatkan akurasi tafsir ayat, tetapi juga berfungsi sebagai alat penting untuk mempromosikan moderasi agama, literasi Islam, dan pembentukan nilai-nilai spiritual yang dapat beradaptasi dengan era digital. Dari perspektif akademik, peneliti merekomendasikan penguatan pendidikan tafsir berbasis konteks di lembaga-lembaga Islam agar nilai-nilai Al-Qur'an dapat diterapkan secara relevan terhadap isu-isu kontemporer seperti radikalisme, etika sosial, dan transformasi teknologi informasi. Kata Kunci: Asbābul Nuzūl, Tafsir Kontekstual, Hermeneutika, Literasi Islam, Relevansi Historis Abstract This study aims to analyze the implementation of amanah (trustworthiness) and mas’uliyyah (responsibility) values in Human Resource Management based on Islamic principles (MSDI) and their impact on employee performance at Khochi Kendari retail company. The background of this research lies in the urgency to develop Islamic work ethics amidst current challenges in workplace professionalism. This research uses a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and participatory observation techniques targeting employees with more than two years of experience. The results show that amanah strengthens employee integrity and trust, while mas’uliyyah cultivates accountability and a strong sense of responsibility. The simultaneous application of both values leads to a productive and ethical work environment. It is recommended that Islamic values be continuously integrated into MSDI systems through structured training, spiritual development, and ethical-based performance evaluations to support sustainable employee performance. Abstract

Abstrak Nuzulul Qur’an merupakan peristiwa sentral dalam sejarah pewahyuan Islam yang menandai turunnya wahyu ilahi kepada Nabi Muhammad saw., sebagai petunjuk hidup bagi umat manusia. Kajian terhadap proses nuzulul Qur’an selama ini terbagi menjadi dua pendekatan utama: historis, yang menekankan konteks sosial, budaya, dan kronologi pewahyuan, serta teologis, yang menegaskan sifat transendental dan keilahian wahyu. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis proses nuzulul Qur’an secara kritis dengan mengintegrasikan kedua pendekatan tersebut untuk membangun pemahaman yang utuh tentang dinamika pewahyuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif melalui pendekatan kepustakaan (library research) dengan analisis hermeneutik terhadap literatur klasik dan kontemporer seperti karya al-Zarkasyi, al-Suyuthi, Fazlur Rahman, dan Quraish Shihab. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nuzulul Qur’an bersifat gradual (tanzīl), progresif, dan dialogis antara wahyu dan realitas sosial. Pendekatan historis teologis menegaskan bahwa wahyu bukan hanya teks yang diturunkan, tetapi juga proses pedagogis yang membentuk kesadaran moral dan spiritual manusia. Dengan demikian, integrasi kedua perspektif ini menghadirkan paradigma tafsir yang lebih komprehensif, kontekstual, dan tetap berakar pada nilai-nilai transendental wahyu. Kata Kunci: Nuzulul Qur’an, Pendekatan, Pendekatan Teologis Abstract Nuzulul Qur'an is a central event in the history of Islamic revelation, marking the descent of divine revelation to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as a guide for humanity. Studies of the process of nuzulul Qur'an have been divided into two main approaches: historical, which emphasizes the social, cultural, and chronological context of revelation, and theological, which emphasizes the transcendental and divinity of revelation. This study aims to critically analyze the process of nuzulul Qur'an by integrating both approaches to build a complete understanding of the dynamics of revelation. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method through a library research approach with a hermeneutic analysis of classical and contemporary literature such as the works of al-Zarkasyi, al-Suyuthi, Fazlur Rahman, and Quraish Shihab. The results show that nuzulul Qur'an is gradual (tanzīl), progressive, and dialogical between revelation and social reality. The historical-theological approach emphasizes that revelation is not only a revealed text, but also a pedagogical process that shapes human moral and spiritual awareness. Thus, the integration of these two perspectives presents a more comprehensive, contextual interpretation paradigm, while remaining rooted in the transcendental values ​​of revelation. Abstract

This research aims to describe the implementation of Presidential Regulation (PP) no. 72 of 2021 concerning the Acceleration of Reducing Stunting from Siyasah Dusturiyah Perspective (Study of the Wajo District Health Service). In answering this problem, the author uses a normative syar'i approach and an empirical juridical approach. The data collection methods were carried out by means of interviews, observation, documentation and literature study. The research results show that the implementation of Presidential Regulation (PP) no. 72 of 2021 concerning the Acceleration of Reducing Stunting in Wajo Regency has been going well where the Wajo district health office continues to strive to implement the program to accelerate stunting reduction. They distribute blood supplement tablets, get immunizations, get additional food, provide breast milk until the age of 24 months, get worm medicine , providing complete basic immunization to children, fulfilling nutritional needs since pregnancy, 1000 HPK, fostering exclusive breastfeeding for 0-6 months and healthy environmental sanitation. Siyasah Dusturiyah's Views on the Implementation of Presidential Regulation (PP) no. 72 of 2021 concerning the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction, in essence it does not conflict with the principles of Siyasah Dusturiyah. In essence, it is intended to enforce regulations for the benefit of its people from the regulations and policies made by its leaders. Of course, effective provisions are needed to regulate their respective duties.

Abstract

This study is a study of ghalizul Qalb Perspectives of the Qur'an. The subject matter is "What is the essence of ghalizul qalb perspective of the Qur'an, how does ghalizul qalb of the perspective of the Qur'an look, and how a way of overcoming the hard heart of the perspective of the Qur'an. In answering this problem, this research is classified as library research using a multidisciplinary approach, including tafsir, theology, and Sufism. The Metode used in this study uses the method of interpreting mawdhu'i data collected by quoting and analyzing using content analysis (content analysis) of literature that is representative and has relevance or relation to the problem to be discussed reviews, and will conclude the results of the review. The results of this study show that (1) the term ghalizul qalb is contained in QS. Ali 'Imran/3:159, ghalizul qalb also has other terms including qasiyah (stiff heart), khatama (keyed heart), la yafqahun (incomprehensible heart), raib (doubtful heart) (2) ghalizul qalb form, i.e. explaining the kinds of hard hearts i.e., qalbun aglaf (closed heart), qalbun marid (aching heart), qalbun mushaffah (between a heart of faith and a sick heart), qalbun mankus (an upside-down heart), as for the signs of a hard heart that is, dependent on other than Allah, associates a lot with unhelpful things, always makes mistakes and always obeys the passions (3) the solution to overcome a hard heart can be done by acting meekly, to be forgiving, to restrain anger, to multiply the charity of shalih, and the muhasabah of oneself, as for the effect that after doing the methods of overcoming the hard heart, then one will gain happiness in the heart by the pleasure of looking at the face of god, longing in the world and seeing the afterlife and the benefit of the Khalik towards His being.

Abstract

Tawakkal is understood as a manifestation of faith that integrates sincere effort and total submission to Allah SWT, encouraging maximal endeavor as well as a peaceful and just response rooted in trust in God. This study examines the concept of tawakkal in QS. Al‑Anfāl [8]:61 as a spiritual foundation for strengthening student character and fostering social harmony in contemporary education. The research employs a library research approach using primary sources from the Qur’an and authoritative tafsirs alongside relevant academic literature; data are analyzed descriptively through thematic interpretation (tafsīr maudhu‘ī). The findings indicate that integrating the value of tawakkal in education can enhance students’ emotional resilience, sense of responsibility, and growth mindset, and support a harmonious learning environment. This value aligns with educational directions that emphasize compassion, tolerance, and appreciation of diversity as essential aspects of character education. The study concludes that ideal education is not merely the transfer of knowledge but the transformation of moral and social values, producing generations who are both intellectually capable and morally mature, and able to contribute to peace and harmony in pluralistic societies. ABSTRAK Tawakkal dipahami sebagai manifestasi iman yang mengintegrasikan usaha nyata dan penyerahan diri kepada Allah SWT, mendorong upaya maksimal serta respon damai yang adil dan percaya kepada Allah. Penelitian ini mengkaji konsep tawakkal dalam QS. Al‑Anfāl [8]:61 sebagai landasan spiritual dalam penguatan karakter peserta didik dan penciptaan harmoni sosial dalam pendidikan kontemporer. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dengan sumber primer Al‑Qur’an dan tafsir otoritatif serta literatur akademik; data dianalisis secara deskriptif‑analitis melalui tafsīr maudhu‘ī. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi nilai tawakkal dalam pendidikan dapat memperkuat ketahanan emosional, tanggung jawab, dan growth mindset peserta didik serta mendukung lingkungan belajar yang harmonis. Nilai tawakkal ini konsisten dengan arah pembelajaran yang menanamkan nilai kasih sayang, toleransi, dan penghargaan terhadap perbedaan sebagai bagian dari pendidikan karakter terhadap peseerta didik . Penelitian menegaskan bahwa pendidikan ideal bukan hanya transfer ilmu, tetapi transformasi nilai moral dan sosial yang menghasilkan generasi unggul secara intelektual dan matang secara moral, serta mampu berkontribusi pada perdamaian dan keharmonisan masyarakat yang majemuk.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze contemporary economic interpretation approaches in understanding the economic verses of the Koran contextually and applicatively. The research uses qualitative methods with the type of library research through a thematic interpretation approach (maudhu'i) combined with contextual analysis of modern economic dynamics. The research results show that contemporary economic interpretation is an integrative approach that connects the values ​​of the Al-Qur'an with modern economic realities through a combination of the maudhu'i method and the adabi ijtima'i style. This approach produces an understanding of economic verses that is more systematic, contextual, and relevant to modern economic problems. This research also shows that the economic verses of the Koran contain the main principles of justice (al-'adl), balance (tawazun), and social responsibility (mas'uliyyah) as the basis for building a just and sustainable Islamic economic system. Thus, contemporary economic interpretation not only functions as an interpretive method, but also as an epistemological framework in the development of modern Islamic economics
