Abstract

The research aims to find out how social studies teachers at SMP Negeri 06 Ngabang attempted to increase students' interest in reading, as well as what factors influenced their efforts and what challenges they encountered. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The information was gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation. In this research, the researcher used both primary (including social eighth-grade instructors, librarians, and eighth-grade students) and secondary data sources. The researcher used interactive data processing techniques that consist of three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results indicated that: (1) The social studies teacher's efforts to increase eighth-grade students' interest in reading in SMP Negeri 06 Ngabang by providing reading time, selecting reading material, and acting as a motivator, counselor, and evaluator. (2) The teacher's efforts to increase eighth-grade students' interest in reading are influenced by the teacher and students' enthusiasm for reading, supportive infrastructure, and learning environments. (3) The challenge to the teacher's efforts to increase eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 06 Ngabang's interest in reading is that there was students’ lack of interest in engaging in reading activities, as reported by the teacher

Abstract

This study aims to determine the interest in reading of students in social studies learning in grade 7 junior high school in Pontianak city and the teacher's efforts to increase students' interest in reading in social studies learning in grade 7 in Pontianak. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with research subjects namely 1 social studies teacher, 1 library officer, and 5 students. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The data collection tools are observation guides, interview guides and documentation using cameras. Data validity testing techniques in this study using triangulation of sources, techniques and time. The results of this study indicate that students' interest in reading in social studies learning is seen from the factor of availability of time to read, the habit of reading, the availability of books to read, the role of the library, and the condition of books in the school reading corner. Teachers' efforts to increase students' interest in reading in social studies learning such as teachers directing students to read social studies books for 15 minutes before learning, teachers provide motivation to students to read, and teachers utilize facilities and infrastructure by providing additional social studies material in the form of files.

Abstract

In Indonesia, teachers' ability to undertake research is still below average. This is due to a lack of research knowledge and experience among teachers. As a result, teachers rarely conduct research and have never published a scientific paper. This study aims to determine of teachers in the use of microsoft powerpoint learning media in social studies subjects. The research approach used is qualitative with a case study method. The data sources used are primary and secondary. Primary data includes one grade 7 social studies teacher, the Principal and the Head of Curriculum. While the secondary data used in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. From this research, the results show that there are obstacles experienced by grade 7 social studies teachers in using microsoft powerpoint learning media. The obstacles experienced are the lack of skills and creativity of teachers in using powerpoint features, lack of time, and difficulty in operating the powerpoint. However, social studies teachers also tried several ways to overcome the obstacles in using powerpoint media such as staying focused on facing problems, asking fellow teachers, learning independently through the internet, asking for help from other teachers, and adjusting the material with the duration of learning so that the implementation of learning activities in the classroom can run effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine differences in academic stress among final year students of the Social Sciences Education study program based on gender at FKIP UNTAN Pontianak for the 2022/2023 period. The research design used is comparative. The total population was 61 students and the samples taken randomly using stratified random sampling were 22 male students and 31 female students. The instrument used was the student-life stress inventory (SSI) questionnaire which was packaged on the Google Form platform, the data was on a Likert scale, and used Independent t-test analysis. Data collection techniques were pilot tests, validity tests, reliability tests, questionnaire distribution, and the data were analyzed with the help of SPSS version 26. The research results showed that most students experienced low academic stress at 41.5%. The independent t-test obtained a sig value. (2-tailed) is 0.145 (p>0.05) so H0 is accepted, which means there is no difference in academic stress based on gender. This is due to the similarities in the causes of stress experienced and received by male and female final year students in the Social Sciences Education study program at FKIP UNTAN Pontianak for the 2022/2023 period. However, the data shows that the academic stress level of female students is higher (M=142.87) in the medium category than male students in the low category (M=131.59).

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the use of the Quizwhizzer application in sociology learning for class XI students at MAN 1 Pontianak.  This research focuses on the planning process, implementation and learning outcomes of students who use the Quizwhizzer application in sociology learning. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The data source in this research consists of a sociology teacher who teaches in class XI H and 4 students. The data analysis techniques used include data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the learning planning process using the Quizwhizzer application by educators involves steps such as selecting material, creating quizzes using the Quizwhizzer application and preparing learning planning strategies. Implementation of learning using the Quizwhizzer application begins with a brief explanation of the related material, guiding students to open and enter the game code in the Quizwhizzer application. The learning outcomes of students using the Quizwhizzer application in sociology learning show good results, seen from the achievements of 34 students who took part in the learning, 29 of whom succeeded in achieving completeness scores. In conclusion, the use of the Quizwhizzer application in sociology learning in class XI MAN 1 Pontianak played a positive role on the learning process and student learning outcomes. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penggunaan aplikasi Quizwhizzer dalam pembelajaran sosiologi pada peserta didik kelas XI MAN 1 Pontianak.  Penelitian ini terfokus pada proses perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan hasil belajar peserta didik yang menggunakan aplikasi Quizwhizzer  dalam pembelajaran sosiologi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari seorang guru sosiologi yang mengajar di kelas XI H dan 4 orang peserta didik. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa proses perencanaan pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi Quizwhizzer oleh pendidik melibatkan langkah-langkah seperti pemilihan materi, membuat kuis dengan aplikasi Quizwhizzer dan menyiapkan strategi perencanaan pembelajaran. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi Quizwhizzer dimulai dengan penjelasan singkat mengenai materi terkait, memandu peserta didik untuk membuka dan memasukkan kode permainan pada aplikasi Quizwhizzer. Hasil belajar peserta didik dengan menggunakan aplikasi Quizwhizzer dalam pembelajaran sosiologi menunjukkan hasil yang baik, dilihat dari pencapaian 34 peserta didik yang mengikuti pembelajaran, 29 di antaranya berhasil mencapai nilai ketuntasan. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan aplikasi Quizwhizzer dalam pembelajaran sosiologi pada kelas XI MAN 1 Pontianak berperan positif terhadap proses pembelajaran dan hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the STAD (Student Team Achievement Division) type cooperative learning model at SMP Negeri 4 Sungai Raya, Kubu Raya Regency. This study uses a quasi-experimental quantitative experimental method. The research subjects were 74 people (37 students in grades VII, C and E). Multiple-choice objective tests in the form of pretest and posttest are used as data collection techniques, and observation guides are used as data collection tools. The hypothesis was tested by paired sample t-test, and Shapiro Wilk's normality test was used in the data analysis method. Empirical evidence shows that the STAD model has been effectively applied in an educational environment. The results of the analysis showed that before and after the test of the normality test of the experimental class. After that, a parametric hypothesis test was carried out, and the results of the paired sample t-test showed a significance level (asymbiotic growth) of the asymptotic sig of 0.000<0.05 for the type of 2-tailed cooperative learning type which represents the 2-tailed asymptotic sig cooperative learning model. The STAD model influences students' learning goals.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of smartphones as learning support during the COVID-19 pandemic on junior high school students learning outcomes in social science subjects. The research method used is a quantitative approach in an ex-post facto form. The data collection techniques used were an indirect form of communication using a closed-ended questionnaire, and a documentary study using the final even semester assessment of social science subjects for class VII and class VIII. Based on the data analysis, (1) the use of smartphones to support the learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic has a 58.9% ratio and is categorized as adequate. (2) A total of 56.3% of students have social studies learning outcomes with a predicate of C (adequate). (3) Based on a simple linear regression test, obtained a significance value of 0.919 0.05, showing that Ha is rejected, while H0 is accepted. In conclusion, the use of smartphones as a support for the learning process during the COVID-19 pandemic does not affect the learning outcomes of junior high school students in social science subjects.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motivasi instrinsik dan motivasi ekstrinsik peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS masa pandemi Covid-19 kelas VIII SMP Negeri 11 Pontianak. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif deskritif dengan bentuk penelitian studi survei (survey studies). Penelitian ini menggunakan populasi sebanyak 219 peserta didik dan sampel 70 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data berupa teknik komunikasi tidak langsung yaitu teknik angket. Alat yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dengan penyebaran angket melalui Google Form. Teknk analisis data dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan motivasi intrinsik peserta didik dalam pembelajaran IPS masa pandemi Covid-19 kelas VIII SMP Negeri 11 Pontianak  termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Sedangkan motivasi ekstrinsik peserta didik kelas VIII SMP Negeri 11 Pontianak termasuk dalam kategori tinggi pula. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa motivasi belajar baik motivasi intrinsik dan motivasi ekstrinsik peserta didik masa pandemi Covid-19 kelas VIII SMP Negeri 11 Pontianak termasuk dalam kategori tinggi.Kata Kunci: Motivasi Belajar, Pembelajaran IPS, Pandemi Covid-19. AbstractThis study aims to determine the intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation of students in social studies learning during the Covid-19 pandemic in class VIII of SMP Negeri 11 Pontianak. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative method in the form of survey studies. This study used a population of 219 students and a sample of 70 students. Data collection techniques in the form of indirect communication techniques, namely questionnaire techniques. The tool used to collect data by distributing questionnaires through Google Forms. Data analysis technique using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the intrinsic motivation of students in social studies learning during the Covid-19 pandemic class VIII of SMP Negeri 11 Pontianak was included in the high category. Meanwhile, the extrinsic motivation of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 11 Pontianak is included in the high category as well. Thus, it can be concluded that the learning motivation, both intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation of students during the Covid-19 pandemic class VIII SMP Negeri 11 Pontianak is included in the high category.Keywords: Learning Motivation, Social Science Learnng, Pandemic Covid-19

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian penguatan terhadap motivasi belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran IPS di SMP Islamiyah Pontianak, Kalimantan Barat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan bentuk korelasi. Populasi dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari 44 peserta didik yang terdiri dari kelas VII, VIII, dan IX yang sebagai sampel penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket yang disebar kepada respoden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian penguatan pada pada pembelajaran IPS memperoleh persentase 47,30% tergolong dalam kategori kurang dan motivasi belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran IPS memperoleh persentase 60,55% tergolong dalam kategori cukup. Berdasarkan hasil analisis regresi tentang pengaruh pemberian penguatan terhadap motivasi belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran IPS di SMP Islamiyah Pontianak, diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Artinya  dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian penguatan memberikan pengaruh pada motivasi belajar peserta didik pada pembelajaran IPS di SMP Islamiyah Pontianak.Kata Kunci: Pemberian Penguatan, Motivasi Belajar, Peserta Didik, Pembelajaran IPS. AbstractThis study aims to determine the effect of providing reinforcement on students' learning motivation in social studies learning at SMP Islamiyah Pontianak, West Kalimantan. This study uses a quantitative approach in the form of correlation. The population in this study consisted of 44 students consisting of class VII, VIII, and IX as the research sample. The data collection technique used a questionnaire distributed to the respondents. The results showed that the provision of reinforcement in social studies learning obtained a percentage of 47.30% belonging to the less category and students' learning motivation in social studies learning obtained a percentage of 60.55% belonging to the sufficient category. Based on the results of the regression analysis on the effect of giving reinforcement on students' learning motivation in social studies learning at SMP Islamiyah Pontianak, it was obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. This means that it can be concluded that the provision of reinforcement has an influence on students' learning motivation in social studies learning at SMP Islamiyah Pontianak.Keywords: Giving Reinforcement, Learning Motivation, Students, Social Studies Learning.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keberhasilan pendidikan multikultural pada peserta didik di SMP Negeri 18 Pontianak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dan bentuk penelitian ini adalah bentuk penelitian studi survei. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 95 responden dari kelas VII, VIII & IX SMP Negeri 18 Pontianak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik komunikasi tidak langsung dan alat pengumpulan datanya adalah angket. Sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan rumus persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa sikap toleransi antar perbedaan agama pada peserta didik di SMP Negeri 18 Pontianak yaitu persentase 82,56% dalam kategori Tinggi. Sikap multikultural saling menghormati dan menghargai perbedaan suku dan budaya pada peserta didik SMP Negeri 18 Pontianak mencapai persentase sebesar 80,79% sehingga termasuk dalam kategori Tinggi. Kesimpulan penelitian ini bahwa pendidikan multikultural berhasil dilaksanakan dengan persentase sebesar 81,67%.Kata Kunci: Pendidikan Multikultural, Peserta Didik, Sikap Toleransi, Sikap Menghormati AbstractThis study aims to determine the success of multicultural education for students at SMP Negeri 18 Pontianak. The number of samples in this study were 95 respondents from class VII, VIII & IX of SMP Negeri 18 Pontianak. The data collection technique used is an indirect communication technique and the data collection tool is a questionnaire. While the data analysis technique uses the percentage formula. The results showed that the attitude of tolerance between religious differences in students at SMP Negeri 18 Pontianak was 82.56% in the High category. The multicultural attitude of mutual respect and respect for ethnic and cultural differences in the students of SMP Negeri 18 Pontianak reached a percentage of 80.79% so that it was included in the High category. The conclusion of this study is that multicultural education was successfully implemented with a percentage of 81.67%.Keywords: Multicultural Education, Students, Tolerance, Respect
