Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisisis komunikasi efektif dalam menciptakan hubungan baik antara guru IPS dan peserta didik kelas VII di SMPN 12 Pontianak. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kualitatif yang dilakukan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi kegiatan belajar mengajar pada mata pelajaran IPS khususnya pada kelas VII F dan VII A. hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwasanya komunikasi yang terjadi pada kelas VII F dan VII A saling mengimbangi satu sama lain walaupun ada beberapa yang masih harus diperbaiki dan diperhatikan. Pelaksanaan komunikasi di kedua kelas tersebut menunjukkan bahwa peran komunikasi sangatlah penting dan nyata. Dimana peran komunikasi verbal maupun non verbal dapat menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang nyaman serta membantu pemahaman materi lebih dalam pada peserta didik. Adapun cara guru IPS dalam membentuk hubungan baik dengan menerapkan sikap saling menghormati satu sama lain, saling belajar sehingga hubungan antar keduanya semakin akrab dan tentunya baik pula.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran pembelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial (IPS) dalam membentuk karakter pluralis peserta didik kelas VIII di SMP Nurul Islam Sungai Kakap, Kabupaten Kubu Raya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian meliputi satu orang guru IPS dan tujuh orang peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi nonpartisipatif, wawancara semi-terstruktur, dan dokumentasi. Observasi dilakukan untuk mengamati perilaku peserta didik yang mencerminkan nilai pluralisme. Wawancara dilakukan untuk menggali pandangan dan pengalaman guru serta peserta didik terkait pembelajaran IPS. Dokumentasi digunakan sebagai pelengkap, berupa foto, catatan, dan data tertulis lainnya. Teknik analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data dalam bentuk narasi, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data diuji melalui perpanjangan pengamatan dan triangulasi teknik maupun sumber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran IPS memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk karakter pluralis, seperti sikap toleransi, saling menghargai, dan saling percaya. Faktor pendukungnya antara lain kesamaan budaya lokal, kedekatan geografis, dan interaksi sosial yang terbuka di antara peserta didik. Adapun faktor penghambat meliputi perbedaan budaya, jarak geografis, dan sikap tertutup. Pembelajaran IPS di SMP Nurul Islam telah mampu menanamkan nilai-nilai pluralisme dalam kehidupan sosial peserta didik baik di lingkungan sekolah maupun masyarakat sekitar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujan untuk Mengetahui seberapa besar efektifitas penerapan metode demonstrasi dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPS. Teknik yang digunakan yaitu teknik observasi, tes, dokumentasi dan alat pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi, dokumentasi dan tes. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dan dilakukan di Mts Al-Falah Mempawah pada kelas VIII jumlah popolasi sebanyak 27 peserta didik. Teknik analisis data dilakukan melalui uji normalitas untuk memastikan distribusi data berdistribusi normal dilanjutkan dengan Uji-T untuk mengetahui perbedaan ratarata antara kelompok kontrol dan eksperimen. Selain itu, perhitungan Efectsize dilakukan untuk mengukur besar pengaruh perlakuan yang diberikan. Hasil belajar sebelum melakukan metode demonstrasi pada mata pelajaran IPS kelas VIII Mts Al-Falah Mempawah, nilai peserta didik dapat dikatakan belum memenuhi ketuntasan karena banyaknya peserta didik yang mendapatkan nilai 70 dan keefektifitasannya dilihat dari nilai rata-rata skor kelulusan antara kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol jumlah siswa yang lulus dan tidak lulus. Hasil penelitian efektifitas belajar berpengaruh terhadap prestasi peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPS, minat belajar tidak berpengaruh terhadap prestasi peserta didik pada mata pelajaran IPS.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini menganalisis dinamika perubahan sosial budaya di Desa Rawak Hulu dan Rawak Hilir, Kecamatan Sekadau Hulu, Kalimantan Barat, dari pola etnosentrisme menuju multikulturalisme. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pendidikan multikultural serta interaksi antarbudaya menjadi faktor utama pendorong perubahan tersebut. Pendidikan berperan aktif dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai inklusif dan mendekonstruksi prasangka lama, sementara interaksi sosial memperkuat kohesi antara komunitas Melayu dan Tionghoa. Peningkatan kesadaran sosial dan perluasan akses terhadap pendidikan turut mendorong penerapan nilai-nilai inklusif, sehingga tercipta lingkungan multikultural yang harmonis. Meskipun demikian, tantangan tetap muncul, khususnya pada momen-momen politik yang berpotensi memicu kembali sentimen etnis. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa multikulturalisme merupakan proses dinamis yang memerlukan pemeliharaan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pemahaman tentang transformasi sosial di wilayah pedesaan Indonesia serta menegaskan pentingnya kebijakan yang mendukung integrasi budaya dan pendidikan multikultural guna memperkuat kohesi sosial di masyarakat yang beragam secara etnis. Abstract This study examines the socio-cultural transformation of Rawak Hulu and Rawak Hilir villages in the Sekadau Hulu District, West Kalimantan, focusing on the shift from ethnocentrism to multiculturalism. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that multicultural education and intercultural interaction are the main drivers of this transformation. Education plays an active role in fostering inclusive values and deconstructing long-standing prejudices, while social interactions strengthen cohesion between the Malay and Chinese communities. Increasing social awareness and broader access to education have further promoted the adoption of inclusive values, leading to the development of a harmonious multicultural environment. However, challenges remain, particularly during political periods that may reignite ethnic sentiments, suggesting that multiculturalism is a dynamic process requiring ongoing maintenance. This study contributes to the broader understanding of social change in rural Indonesia and highlights the importance of policies that promote cultural integration and multicultural education to strengthen social cohesion in ethnically diverse communities. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by Doratoon animation videos on students’ conceptual understanding in Social Studies for eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 6 Sengah Temila. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population in this study consisted of all eighth-grade students, with two classes selected as samples using a purposive sampling technique. The experimental class was taught using the PBL model assisted by Doratoon animation videos, while the control class used Canva media. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test consisting of 20 questions administered before and after the treatment to measure students’ conceptual understanding. The data analysis results showed that the average N-Gain score of the experimental class was 21.6% (low category), while the control class scored 22.6% (low category). The independent sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the experimental and control classes. Therefore, the Problem-Based Learning model assisted by Doratoon animation videos was proven to be more effective than Canva media in improving students’ conceptual understanding in Social Studies. The results of this study are expected to serve as a reference for teachers in applying innovative learning media to support more interactive and meaningful learning.

Abstract

This study examines social cohesion in the Baroah tradition of the Dayak Kanayatn community in Sungai Laki Village, Mempawah Hulu District, Landak Regency. The Baroah tradition is one of the local wisdoms of the Dayak Kanayatn tribe, which holds a meaning as an expression of gratitude to Jubata (God) for an abundant rice harvest, as well as serving as a symbol of community togetherness. The purpose of this study is to describe how aspects of mutual cooperation, social relations, and active community participation are manifested in the implementation of the Baroah tradition as a form of social cohesion. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, utilising data collection techniques that include observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants consisted of one traditional leader and four local residents, selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, with data validity ensured through triangulation of sources and techniques. The results of the study indicate that social cohesion is reflected through mutual cooperation during the preparation and implementation of the event, social relations through interactions with others, and active community participation in helping to assist in the implementation. The Baroah tradition serves as a unifying force, binding the community together while preserving the cultural identity of the Dayak Kanayatn ethnic group.

Abstract

This study aims to explore information about the Faradje’ ritual, a unique tradition of the Malay ethnic Sanggau community, and to understand how this ritual endures in the era of modernization and globalization. The Sanggau community performs the Faradje’ ritual annually as a form of warding off misfortune and an effort to maintain regional tranquility. The methods used in this research include interviews, observation, and documentation. The results show that although there are changes in the implementation of the ritual, such as the use of materials and tools, the essence of the Faradje’ ritual remains preserved. This ritual functions as a means to strengthen social bonds and local cultural identity amid the challenges of globalization. This study is expected to contribute to the understanding of cultural transformation and the preservation of traditions in the modern era.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the symbolic meanings in the initial, core, and final stages of the mande’ bedel keraja’ ritual at the Pakunegara Palace. The mande’ bedel keraja’ is an annual ritual of bathing the bedel’, the heirloom weapon of the Tayan Palace, serving as a protective rite (tolak bala) to ward off disasters and safeguard the kingdom from calamities such as droughts and disease outbreaks. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, involving two main informants and two supporting informants. Data analysis included reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the initial stage involves parading the bedel’ to Ujung Tanjung, accompanied by symbolic objects such as the bedel’, ketubong drum, tepa, candles, umbrella, yellow scarf, and flags of yellow, white, red, and black. The core stage includes the mengkasai and melangir rituals, symbolized by rice, turmeric, kaffir lime, and melangir. The tepung tawar ceremony uses symbolic materials such as rice, jeringau (sweet flag), kencur (aromatic ginger), sabang hijau, goat’s foot leaves, ganda rusa, and puring. The final stage involves rinsing the bedel’, where the water symbolizes healing and fertility for a bountiful harvest. The ketupat war ritual represents resistance against misfortune and gratitude for agricultural abundance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that cause imitative behavior among Korean drama fans at the Ratu Sepudak Female Student Dormitory in Pontianak City. The phenomenon of imitating Korean culture, particularly through Korean dramas, is increasingly prevalent among teenagers and female students. This study uses a qualitative research method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with four informants selected based on the criteria of intensity of watching Korean dramas and active involvement in Korean culture. The results of the study show that there are four main factors that influence imitative behavior, namely: (1) personal interest, which is related to interest in fashion, makeup, and character traits; (2) emotional needs, where Korean dramas become an escape when experiencing stress or boredom; (3) the influence of social media, which reinforces interest in Korean culture and encourages consumerism of Korean products; and (4) the social environment, especially friends in the dormitory who reinforce imitative behavior collectively. These four factors interact and contribute to shaping the informants' lifestyle, daily behavior, and adopted values. This study is expected to provide insight for academics, dormitory managers, and students regarding the dynamics of imitating foreign popular culture, as well as serve as a consideration in developing a selective and critical attitude in consuming foreign culture.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has brought significant changes to 21st-century education. This study aims to analyze the utilization of digital technology in the learning process and its impact on students’ learning outcomes. The method used is qualitative with a literature review approach that identifies, evaluates, and synthesizes various previous studies published between 2020 and 2025. Data were obtained from national and international journals indexed in SINTA, DOAJ, and Google Scholar. The findings indicate that the integration of digital technology through the use of Learning Management Systems (LMS), multimedia applications, and interactive media has a positive effect on students’ motivation, engagement, and academic achievement. Teachers’ digital competence, institutional support, and the availability of infrastructure are key factors determining the success of digital technology implementation. However, several challenges remain, such as limited access, digital literacy gaps between teachers and students, and unequal education policies. In the long term, the use of digital technology contributes to the development of learning independence, critical thinking skills, and collaborative abilities that are essential for lifelong learning. Therefore, the use of digital technology must be balanced with strengthened digital literacy, improved infrastructure, and continuous pedagogical innovation.
