Abstract

As a result of initial observations and interviews with high school principals in Sekayam District, there are still some teachers who have difficulties in implementing the independent curriculum and are not proficient in compiling PjBL modules, especially teachers in the Indonesia-Malaysia border area. Based on this phenomenon, the team agreed to conduct counseling activities on training on the preparation of project-based teaching modules for high school teachers in the Indonesia - Malaysia border area. The reason for the selection of high school teachers in border areas as targets for PKM activities is the lack of continuous training and assistance from the government and other parties so that the lack of teacher skills to adapt to changes in education policy. The method of implementing this PKM is in the form of counseling on the independent curriculum and the preparation of project-based learning modules. The results of the PKM show that participants have increased knowledge and have the initial ability to design project-based learning modules.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the planning, implementation, and challenges in the application of local culture-based education in Social Studies (IPS) learning in Class VIII.A of SMP N 1 Semitau, Kapuas Hulu Regency. This study was conducted using a qualitative research method, with data collection techniques including observation at school, interviews, and documentation carried out with Social Studies teachers and the curriculum coordinator of SMPN 1 Semitau as sources or informants. Data reduction was performed by eliminating irrelevant data and including data relevant to the research focus. The results show that the planning and integration of local culture into learning is carried out by designing learning activities and implementing them through classroom discussions, local culture simulations, and extracurricular activities. However, there are several challenges in its implementation, including a lack of specific teaching materials and curriculum, as well as students' diverse levels of understanding

Abstract

Tujuan dari kajian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi sejauh mana penerapan strategi Make A Match mampu meningkatkan prestasi akademik siswa dalam mata pelajaran IPS, khususnya pada topik “Kondisi Geografis Memengaruhi Keragaman Budaya” di kelas VIIA SMP Negeri 2 Sajingan Besar, Kabupaten Sambas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pra-eksperimen, yaitu one group pretest-posttest. Seluruh siswa kelas VIIA dijadikan sebagai sampel penelitian. Uji normalitas data dilakukan dengan metode Shapiro-Wilk, sementara analisis statistik menggunakan uji paired t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi Make A Match memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan nilai belajar siswa. Hal ini terlihat dari kenaikan nilai rata-rata pretest yang awalnya 54,53 menjadi 69,43 pada posttest. Analisis statistik juga menunjukkan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,001, yang lebih kecil dari 0,05, sehingga Hipotesis 1 (H1) dinyatakan valid. Dengan kata lain, terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan setelah penerapan strategi Make A Match. Untuk mengukur besarnya pengaruh, dilakukan analisis effect size menggunakan Cohen’s d, yang membuktikan bahwa metode ini memiliki dampak yang sangat besar dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of Experiential Learning in enhancing students' historical thinking skills. Historical thinking is a critical competency that enables students to analyze, interpret, and critically evaluate historical events, moving beyond rote memorization. However, history education in Indonesia is predominantly lecture-based, limiting student engagement and analytical skill development. This research adopts a qualitative case study approach conducted at a high school in Pontianak, involving history teachers and students. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observations, and document analysis. The findings indicate that Experiential Learning, through methods such as historical field trips, reenactments, and project-based learning, significantly improves students' chronological understanding, awareness of historical causation, and empathy for historical figures. The study also identifies challenges, including resource constraints and the need for more effective instructional strategies. The research concludes that Experiential Learning promotes a deeper, more meaningful understanding of history, empowering students to construct knowledge through firsthand experiences actively. Future research should focus on developing scalable models for integrating Experiential Learning in diverse educational settings.

Abstract

This research seeks to ascertain the distance from students' residences to SMP Negeri 2 Sajingan Besar, evaluate the learning motivation of students at the institution, and investigate whether the distance travelled to school affects their motivation to study at SMP Negeri 2 Sajingan Besar. This study employs quantitative research methodologies, namely descriptive research and simple random sampling, with a total of 150 student respondents. Data analysis reveals that among 150 student respondents, 115 are categorised as short-distance commuters and 35 as long-distance commuters. Additionally, the learning motivation of students at SMP Negeri 2 Sajingan Besar is assessed at 81%, indicating a fairly strong level of motivation . Through the T test with sig results. 0.000 < 0.05 which shows that there is quite a significant influence between the distance students travel to school and students' learning motivation at SMP Negeri 2 Sajingan Besar. Therefore, teachers must strive to maintain and increase student learning motivation.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat fasilitas wisata, tingkat kepuasan pengunjung di Taman Wisata Alam (TWA) Gunung Kelam Kabupaten Sintang dan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh antara fasilitas wisata terhadap kepuasan pengunjung di Taman Wisata Alam (TWA) Gunung Kelam Kabupaten Sintang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif melalui teknik purposive sampling dengan jumlah sampel 31 responden yang pernah mencapai puncak Taman Wisata Alam Gunung Kelam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat fasilitas wisata yang diukur dalam indikator atraksi, aksesibilitas dan amenitas di TWA Gunung Kelam sebesar 87,09%, dinilai “Sangat Baik” oleh responden, sedangkan tingkat kepuasan pengunjung dalam indikator pelayanan dan harga memperoleh hasil keseluruhan sebesar 86,43% dengan kategori “Sangat Puas”. Berdasarkan hasil uji t linear sederhana diperoleh taraf sig. <0,000 < 0,05, yang menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang cukup signifikan antara fasilitas wisata terhadap kepuasan pengunjung. Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa fasilitas wisata berpengaruh terhadap kepuasan pengunjung di Taman Wisata Alam (TWA) Gunung Kelam.

Abstract

Infrastruktur jalan raya hingga saat ini masih belum mencukupi untuk dijangkau dari pusat ibu kota guna memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat menyebabkan terjadinya distribusi barang logistik melalui jalur sungai. Kalimantan Barat  sejak lama  memanfaatkan sungai sebagai alat transportasi, seperti kapal motor, ferry, dan sampan. Dari gambaran di atas penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat efektivitas pengangkutan barang logistik antar pelabuhan dari Pelabuhan Seng Hie – Teluk Batang. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan responden sebanyak 31 orang. Data yang diperoleh melalui kuesioner, dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif presentatif. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat efektivitas pengangkutan barang logistik sebesar 84,9% termasuk dalam kategori sangat efektif. Jarak tempuh yang dibutuhkan dari Pelabuhan Seng Hie – Teluk Batang 134 mil dengan estimasi waktu 15 jam perjalanan, dan moda kendaraan yang digunakan adalah kapal motor. Dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan kapal motor sangat membantu pendistribusian barang logistik di Kecamatan Teluk Batang.

Abstract

The lack of interpersonal skills among teachers remains a barrier to encouraging students to achieve optimal academic achievement. Although these skills are considered important in 21st century learning, their implementation in the field has not shown adequate results. This study aims to analyze the level of teachers' interpersonal skills and evaluate their relationship with student academic achievement. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey design. The subjects were 557 high school students randomly selected as a sample. The data collection technique used a questionnaire developed based on indicators of leadership, teacher attention, understanding, distrust, dissatisfaction, warnings, and assertiveness, with a Likert scale of 1 to 5 as the measurement instrument. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics with the help of SPSS software version 29.0. The study results indicate a significant relationship between teacher interpersonal skills and student academic achievement, influencing students' mastery of basic skills. The conclusion of this study confirms that improving teacher interpersonal skills contributes positively to student learning experiences and achievements. These findings indicate the importance of integrating interpersonal skills training into teacher professional development to improve learning effectiveness and the quality of educational outcomes.

Abstract

Melihat dan merasakan fenomena dan gejala sosial yang terjadi di Indonesia akhir-akhirini semakin dirasakan memprihatinkan dan sekaligus membahayakan kelestarian kehidupanberbangsa dan bernegara. Tindakan anarkis semakin marak, bebasnya mengakses situs-situs dimedia elektronika yang merusak moral generasi muda, penyalahgunaan narkoba, korupsimerajalela, munculnya gerakan-gerakan yang berbau SARA, semakin tipisnya kepercayaanmasyarakat kepada pemerintah, dan lain sebagainya.Kondisi seperti ini merupakan bentuk konkrit menurunnya nilai-nilai luhur yang telahdimiliki bangsa Indonesia, dan bahkan sejak jaman dahulu menjadi kebanggaan bangsa-bangsa didunia akan kebesaran dan keluhuran bangsa Indonesia. Abstract

This study examined burnout differences by gender and socioeconomic status among EFL university students in Indonesia (n=231,53.3%) , Laos (n=85, 19.5%), and Angola (n=117, 27%). Data from 433 students (females, n= 268, 61.89%, males, n=165, 38.11%) were collected using a cross-sectional survey, with participants recruited via WhatsApp groups shared by English lecturers. Burnout levels were measured using the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (Schaufeli et al., 2002). The Mann-Whitney U Test showed that females (78.0%, median = 23.0) reported significantly higher burnout than males (67.3%, median = 22.0) (U = 18448, p = 0.004). This indicated that female students experienced more burnout than male students during their EFL learning. Regarding SES, similar percentages of students experienced moderate level of burnout: 75.6% from middle-to-upper and 72.1% from lower socioeconomic backgrounds. The Mann-Whitney U Test revealed no significant difference between these groups (U = 23389, p = 0.993, median for both groups= 22.0), indicating that burnout is common across socioeconomic statuses. To reduce burnout in EFL students, universities should offer engaging programs, like interactive games and stress-relief activities, focusing on the gender group with higher burnout, while incorporating fun English practice and time management tips.
