Abstract

This study aims to understand the empirical conditions of the self-control ability of disaster victims who have PTSD and counseling services to overcome them. An explorative quantitative method is used by involving 41 adolescent disaster victims. Self-control is measured using the self-control scale with a reliability of 0.90. The results showed that respondents had low self-control, making them vulnerable to PTSD. Group guidance with BMB3 patterns are believed to be appropriate for facilitating victims.

Abstract

The ability to build rapport is one of the development tasks that must be endured by the teenagers. This ability is influenced by various factors among which are the factors of self-concept and family factors particularly parental involvement with their children various occasions. This correlation descriptive research also applied quantitative method. The population of this research were students in grade VII and VIII of SMP Negeri 29 Padang. Sample using proportional stratified random sampling technique. The instruments of this research were the Likert scale model. The data obtained were analyzed by using hipotetic mean, simple linier regression, and multiple linier regression. The research finding were: (1) self-concept in average were at high category, (2) parental involvement in average were at high category, (3) the ability to building rapport with peers were at high category, (4) the ability to building rapport with peers explained by the self-concept, (5) the ability to building rapport with peers explained by the parental involvement, and (6) the ability to building rapport with peers explained by the self-concept and parental involvement. The implication of this research may useful to design a guidance and counseling program, especially for personal and social field.Keywords: Self-Concept, Parental Involvement, Rapport

Abstract

The purpose of this reaserch is to describe: (1) reinforcement teacher subjects accepted students, (2) the confidence of students, (3) the activeness of students in learning, , and (4) contribution the reinforcement subjects teachers and confidence individually or together to the activeness of students in learning. This research used quantitative approach and correlation method. The population of this reaserch were 619 students of SMA Pertiwi 1 Padang in the class X and XI. The sampel were 243 students than were chosen by using propotional stratafied random sampling. The instruments used Scale of Activeness Students in Learning with reliability 0,922, the Scale of Reinforcement Teacher with reliability 0,865, and Scale of Self Confidence with reliability 0,915  Likert model. Research data were analyzed using simple regression and regression. The results of this research show that on average: (1) the level of reinforcement teacher subjects were on the category either, (2) the level of the students’s confidence are in the category of middle, (3) the level of activeness students are on a high category, (4) reinforcement teacher subjects contribute significantly to the activeness of the students in learning of 15.6%, confidence contributes significantly to the activenes of the students in learning of 17,9%, and reinforcement teachers subjects and confidence collectively contribute significantly the activiveness student in learning of 25,4%. The implications of the research can be used as input to steer  counsellors in providing guidance and counselling services.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of group counseling services using an eclectic approach to post-bullying stress in SMA Negeri 4 Medan students in the 2021/2022 academic year. This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design with the type of Pre-test-post-test group design. The subjects in this study were 10 students of class XI MIA SMA Negeri 4 Medan who had a high level of post-bullying stress. Subjects were taken using a screening method with a purposive technique. The research data were collected using a valid and reliable questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. From the data analysis, it was obtained that J count = 0 with = 0.05, while J table = 8. From these data it can be seen that Jcount < JTable where 0 < 8. This means that the hypothesis is accepted. Post-test data after being given the eclectic approach group counseling service obtained an average of 47.9, the difference between the pretest and posttest was 31.8 and the change in the post-bullying stress interval for students after being given the eclectic approach group counseling service was 39.89%. This means that the average score of students who have a high level of post-bullying stress after receiving an eclectic approach group counseling service is lower than before receiving an eclectic approach group counseling service. This shows that there is an influence of an eclectic approach group counseling service on students who have stress levels. high post-bullying or the hypothesis can be accepted.

Abstract

Anxiety levels among female inmates in west Sumatra-IndonesiaBackground: Life in prison causes inmates to experience psychological problems. Some psychological problems that are often encountered in prisoners with the highest symptoms are stress, anxiety, aggressive behavior, and psychosomatic. An anxiety problem is found to be higher than other psychological problems that occur in female prisoners.Purpose: Knowing of description of anxiety levels among female prisoners in West Sumatra-Indonesia.Methods: The research was conducted by questionnaire. The type of research in this study is descriptive. Samples of 80 people were taken by purposive sampling.Results: The results showed the characteristics of female prisoners, more than half aged 18-40 years or the early adult category, more than half had high school education levels, and more than half did not work. An overview of female prisoners' anxiety is 53.8% moderate anxiety and 46.3% mild anxiety.Conclusion: The anxiety of female prisoners in West Sumatra is the most moderate anxiety. Suggestions for Correctional Institutions are expected to increase the existing counseling services and contributions from nurses who are in prison to overcome the anxiety felt by female prisoners during their sentences.Keywords: Anxiety; Prisoners; FemaleLatar Belakang: Kehidupan di dalam penjara mengakibatkan narapidana mengalami masalah psikologis. Beberapa masalah psikologis yang sering ditemui pada narapidana dengan gejala tertinggi yaitu stres, kecemasan, perilaku agresif, dan psikosomatis. Masalah kecemasan ditemukan lebih tinggi dibandingkan masalah psikologis lainnya yang terjadi pada narapidana wanita.Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui gambaran kecemasan narapidana wanita di Sumatera Barat.Metode: Jenis penelitian dengan deskriptif. Sampel sebanyak 80 orang yang diambil dengan purposive sampling. Penelitian menggunakan kuesioner.Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakteristik narapidana wanita yaitu lebih dari separuh berusia 18-40 tahun atau kategori dewasa awal, lebih dari separuh memiliki tingkat pendidikan SMA, dan lebih dari separuh tidak bekerja. Gambaran kecemasan narapidana wanita yaitu 53,8% kecemasan sedang dan 46,3% kecemasan ringan.Simpulan: Kecemasan narapidana wanita di Sumatera Barat yaitu paling banyak memiliki kecemasan sedang. Saran untuk Lembaga Pemasyarakatan diharapkan adanya peningkatan layanan konseling yang ada dan kontribusi dari perawat yang bertugas di lapas untuk mengatasi kecemasan yang dirasakan oleh narapidana wanita selama menjalani masa hukuman.

Abstract

This study aims to see how (1) the level of emotional maturity, (2) the level of family harmony, and (3) the level of student aggressive behavior. This type of research is descriptive quantitative research with the object of research being SMA. The sample of this study consisted of 30 high school students. The instrument used in this study was the Likert scale model, and the instrument used had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that: (1) overall emotional maturity was in the high category with a percentage of 80%, (2) overall family harmony was in the good category with a percentage of 57%, and (3) overall aggressive behavior was at the high category with a percentage of 57%.

Abstract

The purposes of this study are to test the contribution of perceptions of school counselor about their task toward the performance of school counselor. This research used the quantitative approach with the descriptive-correlational method. The population was 303 school counselors and the sample consist of 169 people taken by Purposive Sampling technique. The instrument used was Performance of School Counselor Instrument with reliability score 0,861 and Perception about Tasks Instrument with reliability score 0,740. Data were analyzed using simple regression. The result of the research shows there is contribution (10,7%) of the perception of school counselor about their task toward the performance of school counselor in school

Abstract

The goal of this study is to examine self-esteem, family social support and resilience of victims of domestic violence at the Woment Crisis Center in Padang. Factors that affect resilience are self-esteem and family social support. This thesis utilizes a quantitative descriptive correlational technique. At the Woment Crisis Center Padang Conscience Institution, the population of this study were 77 victims of domestic violence, selected by purposeful sampling technique. The findings of this study show that self-esteem and family social support together are 23.8% important for resilience. The implications of the findings of the study can be used as an analysis of the needs of Guidance and Therapy programs and as a basis for programming.

Abstract

Students' ability to solve learning problems is influenced by the factors of learning motivation and self-confidence. Students who are able to solve problems in learning will be able to get satisfying results. Students who are unable to solve problems in learning will experience failure in achieving a goal. This study aims at looking at the contribution of learning motivation and self-confidence to the ability to solve the problem of student learning at SMAN 1 Lintau Buo. This type of research was quantitative with correlational methods. The sample of this research was the students of class X and X1 of SMAN 1 Lintau Buo identified from the AUM PTSDL results having the most problems. The research instrument used a learning motivastions, self confidence and the resolution of students learning problems. The result of the reliability test of the learning problem-solving ability was 0.759. The research data were analyzed by using multiple regressions. The research findings showed that: learning motivation, in general, was in the high category. The students’self-confidence was generally in the high category. The students' problem-solving abilities were generally in the high category. The learning motivation contributed positively and significantly to the learning problem-solving abilities. The self-confidence contributed positively and significantly to students' learning problem-solving abilities, and the learning motivation and self-confidence together contributed positively and significantly to the students' learning problem understanding abilities.

Abstract

The background of this research was formulated in relation to student’s smoking behavior and aiming for: (1) grouping the students based on theirsmoking behavior; (2) achieving scores of three variables, which are the quality of the students smoking, the environmental quality of the non-smoking area, and the quality of information services by teacher guidance and couseling, and the differences and relation between the three variables and (3) effortsto prevent students smoking behavior by guidance and counseling teacher by using information services.This research used descriptive-quantitative method, and the populationwas the students and guidance and cunseling teacher in SMAN and SMKN, with totalsample was 120 students and 5 guidance and counseling teachers which wasseleted by using random technique. By using questionnaires and interview the data of this research was collected and then analyzed by using descriptive statistical techniques.The research results showed that: (1) grouping the students based on their smoking behavior was non-smoker group, hesitated group, and smoker group with the highest number is non-smokers, second place was hesitated, and the last is the smoker group. (2) the scores of the first variable showed that the condition in SMAN is higher than SMKN; second variable scores showed that the condition in SMAN is higher than SMKN, and the third variable scores showed that the condition in SMAN student is higher than SMKN student’s; the relation between three variable scores is high; (3) efforts to prevent student smoking behavior by guidance and counseling teachers in using informasion services was not running well.
