Abstract

Creative thinking skills are one of the aspects that are part of 21st-century skills. However, students' creative thinking ability is still relatively low so it is very important to improve this ability. This study aims to identify and analyse research trends in creative thinking skills in chemistry learning from 2015-2024. This research method is descriptive and analytical, with data obtained from documents indexed by Google Scholar using Publish or Perish and Dimension.ai. The research procedure uses PRISMA guidelines and data analysis is carried out using bibliometric analysis assisted by VOS viewer software. The results of the analysis show that the trend of research on creative thinking skills in chemistry learning has increased and decreased during the period 2015-2024. The increase in the number of publications occurred from 2015 to 2018, then decreased in 2019, and increased again from 2020-2021. However, the trend decreased again in 2022-2023. There are many documents in the form of Chapters, Articles, Edited Books, monographs, Proceedings, and Preprint that discuss research on creative thinking skills in chemistry learning. Keyword analysis shows that the most frequently occurring terms in this research include Chemistry Learning 280 times and Creative Thinking 204 times. This trend reflects the growing attention to creative thinking in chemistry learning and indicates the need for further efforts to improve research and applications in this area.

Abstract

Systems thinking is one of the most important abilities in the 21st century. Systems thinking helps students organize their thoughts in a meaningful way and make connections between seemingly unrelated problems to reveal their interrelatedness. Through systems thinking, learners are directed to first recognize a problem, understand the links between the factors causing the problem, and finally find the right solution and prevent new problems from arising. Systems thinking skills can be facilitated through learning with an integrated biopreneurship Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model. This study aims to identify how the positive trends of research on biopreneurship and systems thinking variables. This research method is descriptive and analytical. The data used in this study were obtained from documents indexed by Google Scholar from 2016 to 2025 using Publish or Perish and Dimension.ai. The data identified and analyzed were the type of publication, the source of publication, and the title of the research on the project-based learning (PjBL) model integrated with biopreneurship to improve students' systems thinking skills. The data analysis method uses text analysis assisted by VOS viewer software. The results of the study show that the research trend of the biopreneurship PjBL model to improve system thinking skills is very low from 2016-2025. In the period 2016 to 2019, no publications were recorded. Entering 2020 and 2021, the number of publications began to appear, with one publication per year each. However, in 2022, there was a drastic decline to zero, indicating that there were no publications that met the criteria. A positive trend was again seen in 2023 with one publication, and the peak occurred in 2024, where two publications were recorded, being the highest number in the observed period

Abstract

This study presents a comparative analysis of the structural and superconducting properties of YBa₂Cu₃O₇−δ (Y-123) and Y₂Ba₄Cu₇O₁₅−δ (Y-247) superconductors synthesised via a thermal treatment method at 980 °C. Metal nitrates were used as starting precursors, with polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) serving as a capping agent to enhance dispersion and control microstructure. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed that Y-123 and Y-247 were the dominant phases in their respective samples, although minor peaks of BaCuO₂ were detected, indicating the presence of secondary phases. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) revealed that Y-247 exhibited larger grain morphology and higher porosity than Y-123, suggesting that the chosen sintering temperature exceeds the thermal stability range for the Y-247 phase. Electrical resistivity measurements showed a single superconducting transition for both samples, with Y-123 exhibiting a sharper transition width (ΔTc = 8.1 K) compared to Y-247, indicating better grain connectivity and phase uniformity. Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) supported the elemental presence of Y, Ba, Cu, and O in both samples, though variations in stoichiometry were attributed to secondary phases. The observed expansion in the c-axis lattice of Y-247, combined with its higher porosity, points to oxygen loss during sintering, which contributes to the reduced superconducting performance. Overall, the results confirm that both Y-123 and Y-247 can be successfully synthesised using a simple and environmentally friendly thermal treatment method. However, Y-123 exhibits better structural integrity and superconducting performance at the high sintering temperature of 980 °C, making it a more promising candidate for large-scale production of bulk high-temperature superconductors.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Student Team Achievement Divisions (STAD) type cooperative learning model assisted by virtual media on students' concept mastery ability on static fluid material. The background of this study is based on the low level of mastery of students' concepts due to the dominance of conventional learning methods that lack interaction and the limited use of interactive learning media. This research is a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects were students of class XI at SMAN 2 Mataram which were divided into experimental and control classes. The instrument used was a multiple choice test totaling 15 questions to measure concept mastery. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the posttest scores of students in the experimental class compared to the control class. The independent t-test showed a significance value <0.05, indicating a significant effect of the application of the STAD model assisted by virtual media on students' concept mastery. This finding shows that the combination of cooperative learning approach and virtual media such as PhET simulation and learning video is effective in increasing students' active participation, concept visualization, and understanding of physics materials.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between science process skills, cognitive abilities, and students' caring attitudes in the context of project-based learning in the Independent Curriculum era. The project implemented is the processing of plastic waste into eco-friendly bricks stools, which is also part of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Program with the theme of a sustainable lifestyle. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data were obtained from 86 seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 16 Mataram. The research instruments included a science process skills test, a cognitive ability test, and a caring attitude questionnaire. The results of the Pearson Correlation test showed that science process skills had a significant relationship with cognitive ability (r = 0.992). The results of the Kendall's tau-b Correlation test showed that science process skills had a significant relationship with caring attitude (τb = 0.798) and caring attitude had a significant relationship with cognitive ability (τb = 0.889). In other words, it can be said that project-based learning can improve science process skills and cognitive ability while building a character of caring attitude towards the environment. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of project-based learning in the Independent Curriculum, such as making stools from eco-friendly bricks, has a positive impact on developing science process skills and cognitive abilities as well as students' caring attitudes. Project-based learning can be an alternative innovative model to be implemented at various levels of education so that efforts are needed to train teachers in implementing this learning model, and support from schools and government policies to improve the sustainability of environmental-based education.

Abstract

Forecasting earthquakes is still one of the most difficult problems in geophysics, mainly because seismic activity is irregular and often influenced by many factors that interact in complex ways. In this study, we develop a leakage-controlled hybrid ensemble model that combines CatBoost, LightGBM, XGBoost, and Gradient Boosting to predict five earthquake parameters: magnitude, depth, latitude, longitude, and a scaled inter-event interval in Northern California. These models were trained using USGS earthquake data ranging from 1900 to 2025 (M ≥ 4.0), with a process designed to prevent time leakage through strict time separation, a moving window feature, and prospective validation. Overall, the hybrid models produced consistently low MAE and RMSE values and very high R² values (above 0.99) for all target variables. While the estimates performed impressively, the results should be interpreted in a probabilistic context, with recognition of the inherent uncertainty of seismic processes. The framework proposed here provides a clear and replicable approach that can support the development of systems for more reliable short-term earthquake forecasting
