The learning outcomes achieved by students are influenced by many factors. This study aims to determine the level of support of factors (motivation, interest, family, teacher's role, learning methods and learning facilities) that influence the learning process in achieving student learning outcomes in CNC learning in class XI. The subjects in the study were Class XI students majoring in Mechanical Engineering at SMK Negeri 5 Padang in the 2022/2023 academic year totalling 37 people. Because the number of research subjects (population) is less than 100 people, so all of them are taken as samples or total sampling. Data collection was carried out using observation, questionnaires and documentation. Data analysis techniques using descriptive statistical techniques. From the data analysis, it shows that of each factor studied, the learning facility factor has the lowest level of support for student academic success compared to other factors that have been studied by researchers. Therefore, learning facilities at SMK Negeri 5 Padang in CNC subjects need to be improved again to support the student learning process and achieve better learning achievements for students.

The instruction of Manufacturing Technical Drawings remains predominantly teacher-centered, lacking diversity in methodologies, thereby causing students to perceive the subject as challenging. This challenge primarily stems from their struggles in comprehending CAD drawing concepts, interpreting existing drawings, and understanding the functionalities of tools in the AutoCAD application, as outlined in the job sheet. Consequently, students' learning achievements fall short of the minimum passing standards SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya set. This research aims to evaluate the impact of project-based learning on learning outcomes in manufacturing technical drawings and assess the quality of instructional tools employed. The study involves two groups, experimental and control groups, selected through cluster random sampling. Data collection includes pretests administered before the instructional intervention and post-tests conducted after both groups receive different treatments. Results reveal that students in the experimental group attain significantly higher average scores than the control group, indicating a substantial influence of project-based learning on learning outcomes. This approach enhances students' understanding, engagement, and critical thinking abilities within the subject area.

Banyak alumni sekolah menengah Kejuruan (SMK) dan perguruan tinggi masih belum memahami cara menggunakan software CAM. Ini karena banyak guru teknik pemesinan, terutama di Sumatera Barat, belum terbiasa menggunakan software CAM. Software ini baru hadir di Indonesia beberapa tahun di awal tahun 2000. Akibatnya, guru tidak dapat memberikan pembelajaran yang optimal tentang pengopersian software ini kepada siswa mereka. Namun, ada banyak guru yang ingin belajar dan meningkatkan penggunaan software ini, tetapi belum ada alat yang membantu mereka melakukannya. Dengan demikian, guru teknik pemesinan khusus bidang CNC & CAM tidak memiliki kompetensi yang sama di berbagai wilayah Sumatera Barat. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan upskilling dan reskilling ilmu CNC & CAM untuk memastikan bahwa kompetensi guru keahlian teknik pemesinan SMK di Sumatera Barat meningkat dan mampu menghasilkan lulusan yang unggul dan siap kerja. Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan wawasan dan pemahaman guru tentang penggunaan perangkat software CAM pada mata pelajaran Pemrograman Mesin NC/CNC dan CAM. Kegiatan ini diberikan dalam rangka peningkatan kompetensi (upskilling and reskilling) dan guru adalah pelatihan dan pendidikan penggunaan software CAM. Metode yang digunakan termasuk identifikasi masalah, penugasan, diskusi, kerj Dengan kerja sama yang baik antara dinas pendidikan dan MGMP (Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran) bidang keahlian teknik pemesinan, diharapkan pelatihan ini akan berlangsung sesuai rencana. Sekitar dua puluh guru akan dilatih. Kegiatan ini akan diadakan di SMKN 2 Payakumbuh pada bulan September 2023.

Students' understanding of science is limited because the teacher's lecturing teaching method. This method makes students uninterested in following the learning process. This research is aiming to see what extent the Augmented Reality(AR) applicationcan influence students' learning perceptions. In this research, total sampling method was used with a case study approach. Data was collected through classroom observations, interviews with students, and content analysis of student responses to the use of AR as a learning media. The collected data was analyzed thematically to identify patterns of students' perceptions regarding the benefits, constraints, and responses to using AR. Results from 35 students showed that the use of AR in Mechanical Engineering Basic Work subject received positive responses with 92.5% in scores. Students report that using AR increases interest and engagement in learning, and helps them understand technical concepts better. However, several obstacles such as device limitations and initial training in the use of the technology were also identified. This research emphasizes the importance of integrating AR technology in mechanical engineering education at the vocational school level. These findings provide a vision of the impact of using AR in practical and technical learning, and provide a basis for the development of more better learning strategies. Overall, this study provides valuable insights into students' perceptions of using AR in the context of mechanical engineering education. The implications of these findings can help educators and curriculum developers to design learning experiences that are more engaging and effective in preparing students for future technical challenges.

Higher education in Indonesia plays an important role in developing and enhancing students' knowledge, skills, and understanding across various fields of study, in accordance with the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 12 of 2012 on Higher Education. The "Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka" (MBKM) program has been introduced as part of higher education reform in Indonesia, but there remains a need to understand the factors driving student participation, particularly in the Certified Internship and Independent Study Program (MSIB). This study aims to identify curiosity as a factor driving student participation in the MSIB program through the development of soft skills as a mediating variable. This research employs descriptive analysis with a quantitative approach. Data were collected from 189 students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering FT-UNP through questionnaires and analyzed using SEM with SmartPLS to examine the relationships between curiosity, soft skills, and participation in the MSIB program. The results show that curiosity has a positive influence on student participation in the MSIB program through the development of soft skills. This is indicated by a path coefficient 0.267 and T-statistic value 1.680, suggesting a positive relationship between curiosity and participation in MSIB through soft skills. These findings suggest that to increase student participation in the MSIB program, higher education institutions need to focus on the development of Soft abilities as a crucial component of the educational journey. Moreover, programs that stimulate student curiosity need to be strengthened to prepare them for the workforce with competencies that meet market demands.

The purpose of this study is to determine the extent to which class XI Machining Engineering students at SMK Semen Padang have an interest in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial expertise. It is thought that having an understanding of entrepreneurship might have a significant role in influencing students' decisions to pursue careers in business after graduation. A quantitative approach using a survey methodology is the research method employed. The study's demographic and sample comprised 51 Mechanical Engineering class XI students. Information was gathered using surveys and objective assessments that gauged students' interest in and degree of entrepreneurial expertise. The findings demonstrated a strong and positive correlation between students' interest in entrepreneurship and their knowledge about it. The product moment correlation test is a component of hypothesis testing. The calculated sig value (2-tailed) 0.002 <0.005 with a significance level of 5% and falls into the medium group, according to the data analysis calculations. Therefore, it can be said that, in the 2023–2024 academic year, SMK Semen Padang's class XI machining engineering students' entrepreneurial knowledge and interest are positively correlated.

Ductile materials are often used in industry. Apart from its affordable price, its ductile and flexible properties make it easy to shape and apply in the structural industry. It is not uncommon for these materials to be chosen for their high utility. However, each ductile material has its own characteristics that differ from one material to another, ductile material means a material that has the ability to be forged or stretched due to its high level of flexibility. You can use tensile tests and bending tests. This tensile test and bending test aims to determine the hardness and ductility of ductile materials. The ductile materials used in this study are aluminum and brass. The tensile test is carried out using a UTM machine using 3 test pieces that have the same shape and size for each material. The first material is aluminum. The tensile test results on aluminum material obtained an average of 355.78 N/mm2. Meanwhile, the tensile test on brass material obtained an average of 442.28 N/mm2. Furthermore, for bending tests on aluminum and brass materials. This test uses the three point bending method and with 3 test objects of the same shape and size. The results of bending tests on aluminum material obtained an average of 1,562.961 N/mm2. As for the brass material, the average bending test value is 2,466.664 N/mm2. In the era of globalisation, education plays an important role in creating a prosperous society. Teachers have a crucial role in improving the quality of education in Indonesia. Interest in becoming a teacher is a condition in which a person has great attention to the teaching profession, feels happy, and wants to become a teacher. This study aims to identify the interest of undergraduate Mechanical Engineering Education Study Programme students in choosing a profession as a teacher. Based on observations and interviews with students of the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Programme, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University, it is known that many students are not interested in becoming teachers. Some of the reasons underlying this include lack of self-confidence, doubts about income, opportunities to become a teacher, and personal ability to deal with student characteristics. This study aims to determine the description of interest in becoming a teacher in Mechanical Engineering Education Study Programme students at Padang State University. The research method used is descriptive with a quantitative approach, with a sample of 25% of the population or 43 people. The results showed that the interest of Mechanical Engineering Education Study Programme students at Padang State University towards the vocational teaching profession reached 81.36%, which is included in the good category. In conclusion, students of Mechanical Engineering Education Study Programme at Padang State University have a good interest in becoming a teacher.

Pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada mata pelajaran teknik pemesinan bubut di SMKN 1 Padang masih menggunakan metode konvensional sehingga penggunaan media pembelajaran belum dimanfaatkan dengan sangat baik, sehingga pembelajaran tersebut menjadi membosankan bagi siswa dan motivasi belajar pada siswa menurun dan siswa cenderung bersikap pasif pada proses pembelajaran. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini yakni untuk melihat ke praktisan dan keefektifitasan media pembelajaran berbasis video tutorial yang dikembangkan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah R&D (Research and Development) model IDI dengan subjek penelitian pengembangan ini adalah siswa kelas XI di SMKN 1 Padang. Sedangkan objek dalam penelitian ini adalah produk berupa media pembelajaran berbasis video tutorial pada mata pelajaran Teknik Pemesinan Bubut. Hasil penelitian pengembangan ini adalah media pembelajaran berbasis video tutorial. Hasil uji validitas ahli materi dan media diperoleh nilai sebesar 0,92 dan 0,865 yang dapat dikatakan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dibuat valid. Dan hasil analisis angket penilaian siswa diperoleh nilai sebesar 91,7% yang dapat dinyatakan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dalam kategori yang sangat baik. Serta hasil efektivitas pembelajaran didapat adanya kenaikan nilai siswa antara pretest dan posttest dengan perbandingan nilai 16,7% dan 83,3% yang dapat dikatakan bahwa media pembelajaran yang dibuat sudah efektif dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis video tutorial sudah efektif dan sudah sesuai untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran disekolah pada mata pelajaran pemesinan bubut.

Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi digital, khususnya Virtual Reality (VR) dan Augmented Reality (AR), membuka peluang baru dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK). Namun, implementasi teknologi ini masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan dalam konteks pendidikan kejuruan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perspektif guru serta tantangan dan peluang dalam implementasi teknologi VR dan AR dalam pembelajaran produktif di SMK Kota Bukittinggi. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan guru-guru SMK. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru memiliki pandangan positif terhadap potensi VR dan AR dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, terutama dalam visualisasi konsep teknis. Namun, implementasi teknologi ini terhambat oleh keterbatasan infrastruktur, kesenjangan akses siswa, dan kurangnya konten yang relevan dengan kurikulum. Dukungan institusional yang bervariasi dan keterbatasan anggaran juga menjadi kendala signifikan. Meskipun demikian, terdapat peluang pengembangan melalui pelatihan guru dan peningkatan infrastruktur. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi untuk pengembangan strategi implementasi VR dan AR yang lebih efektif di lingkungan pendidikan kejuruan.
