Abstract

Media pembelajaran merupakan alat penyampai materi yang berguna untuk membantu siswa dalam memahami dan mempelajari pembelajaran secara lebih efektif dan lebih menarik, serta bertujuan agar siswa mampu mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil observasi yang dilakukan di SMK Negeri 1 Padang menunjukkan bahwa media yang digunakan di sekolah masih menggunakan media konvesional dalam proses pembelajaran, hal tersebut cenderung membuat siswa merasa bosan dan kurang efektif dalam proses pembelajaran, hal ini berakibat pada hasil belajar siswa yang rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana pengaruh media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi Quick Response Code tentang pengenalan komponen mesin bubut pada mata pelajaran pemesinan bubut di SMK Negeri 1 Padang. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode Quasi Eksperimental Design. Jumlah subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 51 siswa yang terbagi menjadi kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Pada penelitian ini menunjukkan nilai bahwa nilai rata-rata di kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol yakni sebesar 74,815 < 81,759. Hasil pengujian hipotesis diperoleh bahwa nilai Thitung > Ttabel yaitu (3,573 > 2,007). Hasil pengujian ini memberikan interpretasi bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, atau dapat diartikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara media pembelajaran quick respon code terhadap hasil belajar bubut siswa kelas XI Teknik Pemesinan di SMK Negeri 1 Padang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi berdasarkan permasalahan yang ada pada penelitian yang telah dilakukan, yaitu kurangnya kreativitas dan hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI Teknik Pengelasan SMK Negeri 1 GUGUAK. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) termasuk kedalam penelitian kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Penelitian ini diakukan dengan menerapkan Project Based Learning pada kelas XI dengan jumlah siswa 35, dilakukan dengan dua siklus dimana setiap siklus dilakukan dengan 2x pertemuan. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu berupa lembar tes soal, lembar observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis yang dijadikan data kuantitatif yaitu observasi aktivitas siswa, lembar tes soal dan lembar obsevasi kreativitas untuk melihat apakah terdapat peningkatan setelah diterapkannya Project Based Learning (PjBL). Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Project Based Learning terbukti mampu meningkatkan kreativitas da hasil belajar peserta didik, hal tersebut dibuktkan dengan hasil perolehan kreativitas peserta didik pada siklus I memperoleh 74,28% dengan kriteria cukup dan meningkat 91,42% pada siklus II. Sedangkan hasil belajar pada siklus I memperoleh skor 40% dan meningkat pada siklus II dengan skor 88,57,%, dengan demikian pembelajaran model Project Based Learning dapat meningkatkan kreativitas dan hasil belajar kelas XI Teknik Pengelasan SMK Negeri 1 Guguak.

Abstract

This study originated from the lack of enthusiasm of students following the learning of milling machining in the classroom, because of the many distractions that make it difficult for students to concentrate. The purpose of this study is to determine whether there is a difference in students' learning concentration in the subject of milling machining techniques of vocational high school students when they are taught with whiteboard animation media and textbooks. This research design is a quasi-experiment with post-test only. Based on the researcher's consideration and initial interviews, the subjects of this study were formulated as two classes. The number of students for the experimental class XI TPM 1 (15 people) and the conventional class XI TPM 2 (15 people). The experimental class XI TPM 1 was given whiteboard animation learning media, while the conventional class XI TPM 2 was given conventional learning. To analyze the research data, t-test technique was used. The results of the t-test analysis showed that, compared to the conventional learning method, students learned milling machining techniques with higher concentration.

Abstract

The low learning results of students when learning the Frais Technique serve as the impetus for this study. It is believed that this is because students are not actively participating in teacher-centered learning models and their learning is not at its best. The purpose of this study is to ascertain how well the Project Based Learning learning paradigm affects the learning outcomes of SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya students studying framing techniques. This study employs quantitative approaches and quasi-experimental research. 40 students made up the study's sample, and they were divided into two categories: the experimental category and the control category. The research period was carried out during the academic year 2024–2025's odd semester. The findings from the analysis of the data in this research suggest that the learning model centered around projects is significantly more influential than the conventional model to improve learning outcomes, the findings of the analysis illustrate that the average post-test results of the experimental class of 75.25 are greater than the control class with an average of 63.75. Based on the results of research and discussion, quasi-experimental research on the XI grade Frais Engineering Subject at SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya can be concluded that there is an effectiveness of using project-based learning models on student learning outcomes where the value of learning outcomes in groups using project-based learning models is higher than conventional models.

Abstract

Learning activities can run smoothly if accompanied by the availability of appropriate learning media. Learning in the Machining Technology course requires direct practical activities, for example in understanding the use of lathes. The limitations of students' mastery of knowledge when facing the teaching and learning process that tends to be lecture-oriented, causing students' lack of understanding during practice. Learning media that is less interesting causes failure in delivering material, thereby reducing students' interest in learning. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of Real Time Augmented Reality (RT-AR) Lathe media in the learning process of the Machining Technology course in the D-III Study Program, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University (FT-UNP). RT-AR media is designed to present interactive visualizations that describe the lathe work process in real time, so that it is expected to improve students' conceptual understanding and practical skills. The study used a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test and post-test design in two groups: the experimental group using RT-AR media and the control group using conventional learning methods. The results showed that there was a significant increase in the learning outcomes of students in the experimental group compared to the control group. In addition, RT-AR media is also able to increase students' motivation and active participation during the learning process. These findings indicate that RT-AR Lathe media is an effective and relevant learning innovation to be applied in vocational engineering education, especially in mastering lathing material.

Abstract

Interest is a feeling of preference and attraction toward something or an activity without being told, typically marked by enjoyment or attention focused on a particular object of interest. This study aims to determine the influence of motivation and family environment on the interest in pursuing higher education among high-achieving 11th-grade students in the Mechanical Engineering program at SMK Negeri 1 Padang. This research is a descriptive quantitative study using multiple linear regression methods. The population consisted of 30 high-achieving students ranked 1–15 from each class (XI TP A and XI TP B) at SMK Negeri 1 Padang. The entire population was used as the sample using the census method (saturated sampling). Data collection instruments included questionnaires using a Likert scale, which had been tested for validity and reliability. The study was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Padang, with the research subjects being 11th-grade students in the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. The instrument used in this research was a questionnaire. Based on the research findings and data analysis, it can be concluded that motivation and family environment have a significant influence, both partially and simultaneously, on students’ interest in continuing their studies to higher education. The average score for motivation falls into the high category (72.86), the average for the family environment is in the moderate category (44.73), and the average for interest is in the high category (73.86). Together, the variables of motivation and family environment can explain a substantial portion of the variation in students’ interest in pursuing higher education.

Abstract

This study focuses on optimizing the scanning parameters of the Artec Leo 3D Scanner to enhance scanning accuracy by minimizing geometric deviations. The experimental design utilizes the Taguchi L4(2³) orthogonal array method to examine the influence of three scanning factors: distance, angle, and lighting at two levels. A 16-inch car wheel, chosen for its geometric complexity, was scanned under various parameter combinations. The results indicated that the combination of indoor lighting, a 45° angle, and a scanning distance of 100 cm yielded the smallest deviation (0.5%) and the highest signal-to-noise (S/N) ratio (6.02 dB). Analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed that the scanning distance contributed the most to the variation in scanning accuracy (65.09%), followed by lighting (34.64%) and angle (0.27%). A confirmation test with the optimal parameters further reduced the deviation to 0.4%, validating the effectiveness of the Taguchi method for parameter optimization. This study’s findings contribute valuable insights for industries that require high-precision 3D models, such as aerospace, automotive, and healthcare. The research demonstrates the importance of optimizing scanning parameters and offers a practical approach to improving 3D scanning processes. Future research can expand by exploring environmental conditions, scan resolution, and machine learning integration for real-time adjustments.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of the Student Teams Achievement Divisions (STAD) cooperative learning model, supported by flashcard media, in enhancing student learning outcomes in Manufacturing Technical Drawing at SMK Negeri 1 West Sumatra. A quasi-experimental control group design was employed, where the experimental group used the STAD method integrated with flashcards, and the control group received traditional lecture-based instruction. Post-test results showed that the experimental group significantly outperformed the control group, achieving a higher mean score of 79.68 compared to 63.84, with an N-Gain score of 50.81%, indicating moderate improvement. The study found that the STAD model, combined with flashcards, boosted academic achievement and promoted more consistent and equitable learning outcomes. Flashcards played a vital role by simplifying complex concepts and enhancing student engagement. This study fills a gap in vocational education by demonstrating the effectiveness of combining cooperative learning and visual aids in technical education. The research offers valuable insights for educators in similar contexts, proposing a cost-effective and scalable instructional method that can be applied across various technical disciplines. However, the study’s limitation lies in its short-term implementation, and further research is needed to explore the long-term effects of this combined learning strategy.

Abstract

The integration of technology in vocational education has become a critical need to support 21st-century skills, especially in practice-based learning such as Basic Mechanical Engineering subjects. One promising innovation is the use of Augmented Reality (AR) media, which enables interactive three-dimensional visualization to help students concretely understand abstract concepts. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of lathe-based AR media in improving student learning outcomes and motivation in Grade X of the Machining Engineering Department at SMK Semen Padang. The research employed a quasi-experimental method using a non-equivalent control group design. The subjects consisted of two classes: the experimental class (using AR media) and the control class (using conventional learning methods). Data were collected using pre-tests and post-tests to assess learning outcomes and Likert-scale questionnaires to evaluate learning motivation. The analysis results showed that the use of AR media significantly increased student learning outcomes and motivation compared to traditional methods. Based on hypothesis testing and normalized gain score analysis, the AR media was found to be highly effective in the learning process. In conclusion, lathe-based Augmented Reality media proved to be an effective interactive learning tool that enhances students' academic performance and motivation, while also contributing to the development of innovative media in technical education.

Abstract

This study aims to measure the geometrical accuracy of complex object scanning using the Artec Leo 3D scanner. The scanned object is a wheel rim, with eight combinations of parameters including variations in distance (50 cm and 100 cm), scanning angle (45° and 90°), and lighting conditions (indoor and outdoor). Deviations were measured from four reference points on the scanned model and compared to a reference model. The results show that the Indoor configuration with a scanning distance of 50 cm and a scanning angle of 90° gives the smallest deviation of 0.025 mm (0.01%), while the Outdoor configuration with a scanning distance of 50 cm and a scanning angle of 45° produces the largest deviation of -3.275 mm (-1.80%). The overall average deviation of all combinations is -0.63 mm or -0.36%, indicating that the Artec Leo can produce high accuracy if configured with the right parameters. The smallest deviation was obtained under indoor scanning conditions with a scanning distance of 50 cm and a scanning angle of 90°.
