Abstract

This research aims to develop a Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) system using the Items Response Theory (IRT) approach. This study is part of developing a web-based system using the Research and Development (R&D) method, employing the Four-D (4-D) model. At its core, this system is similar to a Computer-Based Test (CBT). Still, the critical difference lies in its ability to randomize and provide questions that align with the test-taker's skill levels using the Items Response Theory (IRT) algorithm. The system employs the 3-PL model from the Items Response Theory, considering the difficulty level of questions, the discriminative power of questions, and the likelihood of guessing or interference in the questions. The examination system randomly assigns questions to students based on their responses to previous questions, ensuring that each test-taker receives a unique question sequence. The exam concludes when a test-taker accurately estimates their ability, i.e., SE <= 0.01, or when all questions have been answered. The outcome of this research is a Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) system based on the Items Response Theory (IRT), which can be used to assess students' learning outcomes. This research was implemented in the Multimedia Department of SMK Negeri 1 Gunung Talang, with 90 students as the research sample. The evaluation of the practicality of this system received very high scores, indicating that the Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) system based on the Items Response Theory (IRT) is considered highly practical and effective in achieving the established measurement goals.

Abstract

The sales strategy determines the continuity of the business being run. The problems that occur are the sales archive data has not been analyzed in-depth, the information system has not been integrated with applications for sales data analysis, online media promotion has not been maximized, inadequate stock of goods, the layout of goods is not optimal, and the combination of the number of products is not optimal. This study aims to extract hidden information in the sales database using Data Mining. From the information generated, sales strategy recommendations are developed relating to promotions, inventory, catalogue design, item layout, and the combination of product quantities. The method used is the association rule with Apriori algorithm to find consumer purchase patterns through the resulting association. The importance of association can be identified by two benchmarks, namely support and confidence. The sales strategy analyzed includes product promotion, catalogue design, product layout, stock predictions, and product combinations for sale. Based on the research produced 7 strong rules which are the highest association rules which are then developed into a sales strategy recommendation.

Abstract

Advancements in information and communication technology have significantly transformed educational practices, including those in vocational high schools. Preparing students with 21st-century competencies—such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication—has become increasingly essential, particularly in the digital era. This study aimed to assess the need for developing a mobile learning application using a problem-based learning (PBL) approach for the static routing topic within the Network Infrastructure Administration course at vocational high schools (SMK). The research involved both students and teachers as respondents to identify learning gaps, assess student competencies, and determine the desired features for an effective mobile learning tool. Findings revealed that a mobile learning solution incorporating the PBL approach holds significant potential to enhance students’ understanding of static routing concepts. The analysis indicated that learners struggle with abstract technical content and benefit from interactive and contextualized learning strategies. The study highlights that mobile learning applications designed with PBL principles can bridge existing instructional gaps by fostering self-directed learning and critical thinking. Key considerations for development include accessibility, engaging interactive features, and integration of problem-solving tasks aligned with real-world scenarios.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of self-confidence and creativity on the entrepreneurial mindset of vocational students. As vocational education increasingly aims to equip students for dynamic economic environments, fostering entrepreneurial thinking is essential. The research was conducted at SMKN 1 Guguk using a quantitative survey design involving 91 automotive program students. Data were analyzed through multiple regression and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The regression analysis revealed that self-confidence and creativity collectively explain 80.9% of the variance in entrepreneurial mindset (R² = 0.809). The model was statistically significant (F = 186.304, p 0.05), with both self-confidence (B = 0.687, t = 8.947, p = 0.000) and creativity (B = 0.328, t = 4.326, p = 0.000) showing significant positive effects. PLS-SEM results further confirmed the model's reliability, with all indicators demonstrating strong outer loadings ( 0.85) and construct validity. The findings suggest that self-confidence plays a more dominant role than creativity in shaping students' entrepreneurial mindset. These results highlight the need for vocational schools to incorporate learning models—such as Project-Based Learning and Teaching Factory—that strengthen students’ psychological readiness alongside technical skills. In conclusion, enhancing self-confidence and creativity through structured educational approaches can significantly support the development of entrepreneurial competencies among vocational students, preparing them to pursue innovation and opportunity in real-world contexts.
