Abstract

Electronic health, or e-Health, can revolutionize the clinical management of tuberculosis (TB) through enhanced treatment efficiency and effectiveness, among other benefits. Regarding TB, this may entail teleconsultation, which allows medical professionals to speak with TB specialists remotely, or telemonitoring, which allows patients to be remotely monitored using digital technology. This paper aims to determine the effectiveness of tele-counselling in enhancing adherence to patient tuberculosis. We used the Scopus database, Science Direct, Ebsco Host, and PubMed for English published between 2018 and 2023: the Joanna Briggs Institute guidelines assessed eligibility, PRISMA quality, and  a checklist to guide this review. The articles have case-control, quasi-experimental, mixed method studies, and randomized control trials (RCT). E-counseling was included in the analysis if they focused on tuberculosis and were excluded if unrelated to other disease areas. Fifteen articles that could be used in this review were found. The majority of the population were adults. Results of the review showed that most m-Health apps support tuberculosis treatment. There are numerous ways that electronic counseling, or “e-counseling,” may improve adherence to TB treatment. This study illustrated how m-health might improve patient comprehension and adherence. The five goals of the World Health Organization (WHO) e-Health framework are being met using more e-Health treatments to treat TB. Among the technology interventions demonstrated to have a significant, positive effect on disease outcomes are smartphone apps, mobile voice conversations, SMS, and instructive films.  Keywords: E-counselling; m-Health; tuberculosis; patient adherence

Abstract

Introduction: Breast cancer patients frequently experience spiritual discomfort due to the disease, its diagnosis, and its repercussions. When end-of-life patients' spiritual needs are not adequately served, they are forced to deal with an overall burden of daily distress and anxiety that affects their emotional and spiritual health. Several studies indicate that, when coping with cancer, people frequently turn to spirituality. Spirituality and religiosity have been associated with less depressive symptoms, enhancing well-being throughout cancer treatment and in cancer survivors. This study sought to characterize the spiritual health of breast cancer patients (religious well-being and existential well-being).Methods: A descriptive observational study design was used, and the population of this research was breast cancer patients at the public hospital. The sample total of this research was 104 respondents. The samples were chosen using non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling technique. Spiritual well-being as a variable was measured using the spiritual well-being scale. Data were then analyzed for categorization into less, enough, and good, expressed in frequencies and percentages. Results: The result of this research shows that good religious well-being with a total of 63 (60,6%) and existential well-being enough with a total of 56 (53,8%).Conclusions: This study demonstrates the responder's good existential and religious well-being categories. Palliative care can be added to medical therapies and programs to promote spiritual well-being, such as spiritual counseling, meditation, and dhikr therapy, which can be helpful for patients with breast cancer. Keywords: breast cancer; existential well-being; religious well-being; spiritual well-being

Abstract

Introduction: Breast cancer is a type of cancer with the highest incidence among women worldwide. It has an impact on the patient's physical, psychological, social, and functional health. Breast cancer patients have a greater burden of symptoms, which can lead to decreased quality of life. This study had the objective to describe breast cancer patients' quality of life in a hospital. Methods: A descriptive observational study design was used. The research population was breast cancer patients in a public hospital. The sample in this study was based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, with a total of 110 respondents obtained through the proportional sampling technique. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. Data were collected by referencing demographic data and distributing a quality-of-life questionnaire (FACT-B). Results: Regarding the quality-of-life variable, findings show that 32 patients had very bad physical well-being (29.1%). Most of the social well-being relations were good, with 40 respondents in this category (36.4%). The majority were in the bad category in terms of functional well-being, with 52 respondents being identified (47.3%). Emotional well-being was considered good for 66 respondents (60.0%). In terms of additional concerns, as many as 60 respondents were in the bad category (54.2%).Conclusions: Chronic conditions can negatively impact patients' physical health and quality of life. Low quality of life is related to the burden of symptoms experienced by patients, such as anxiety, depression, and fatigue. This suggests that social support can strengthen effective coping and improve patients' quality of life. Keywords: breast cancer; breast carcinoma; health-related quality of life; quality of life; patients

Abstract

The success of leprosy treatment can be influenced by cultural dimensions. This study aims to determine the relationship between the cultural dimension and the adherence factor for treatment of leprosy patients. This study is a systematic review using databases including: ProQuest, Sciencedirect, EBSCO and SCOPUS. The keywords used were “factors or causes”, “culture or cultural or ethnicity”, “leprosy or Hansen's disease”, “treatment or intervention or therapy”, dan “adherence or compliance”. The selection process referred to the PRISMA guidelines, so that 15 articles were obtained that met the inclusion criteria. The results of the review show that the number of leprosy patients who do not participate in the leprosy treatment program is influenced by the cultural dimension. Sufferers also believe that leprosy can heal itself and can be treated with a spiritual approach. Thus, it is concluded that culture still greatly influences the compliance process in implementing the leprosy treatment program. Keywords: leprosy; culture; medication adherence ABSTRAK Keberhasilan pengobatan kusta dapat dipengaruhi oleh dimensi budaya. Abstract

This study aims to develop an effective intervention to improve self-acceptance of TB patients who experience stigma and discrimination using the Health Belief Model-Based Social Support approach. Web of Science, ProQuest and Pubmed databases were used to search for keywords derived from the Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) system for relevant articles in the preparation of this systematic. The results showed the initial literature search yielded 74 articles (48 Web Of Science, 7 from Proquest and 19 from Pubmed). After reviewing the abstracts for relevance and matching the inclusion criteria, 21 articles were selected for full-text review. Finally, 16 articles were selected for review and the results of the 16 articles analyzed showed that social support with the Health Belief Model can help reduce stigma and discrimination in TB patients. The conclusion of this study is that the results of the systematic review provide evidence for policy makers to consider alternative interventions using this method to fight stigma and discrimination so that the treatment process of TB patients becomes faster.
