In Banda Aceh City, Meuraxa Health Center recorded the highest rate in 2016 at 26.25%, which increased to 28.60% in 2017, despite educational efforts regarding iron tablet intake and proper nutrition. Method: This study employed an analytical quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of all third-trimester pregnant women with anemia in the working area of Meuraxa Health Center, Banda Aceh City, from January to December 2018, totaling 47 participants, selected using total sampling. Result: Parity (p=0.001), where multiparous and grand multiparous women were at higher risk of severe anemia. Nutritional status (MUAC) (p=0.000), with undernourished women more likely to experience severe anemia. ANC visits (p=0.002), where fewer ANC visits increased the risk. Compliance with iron tablet consumption (p=0.001), where non-compliance was associated with a higher risk of severe anemia. Husband support (p=0.026), where lack of support was associated with increased risk. Recommendation: It is recommended that third-trimester pregnant women regularly check their Hb levels and involve their husbands as supporters in anemia prevention. Health professionals play a crucial role in providing information and counseling to reduce the incidence of anemia.

Abstract

Abstract

Plastic waste is one of the most pressing environmental issues in Indonesia. Plastic is included in the category of non-organic waste that is very difficult to decompose, because it is made of non-renewable chemicals. In the campus environment, the high volume of plastic waste is getting worse because many food vendors still use plastic as packaging, and accompanied by a low level of student understanding of organic and non-organic waste sorting techniques. The increasing amount of plastic waste will certainly have a negative impact on the environment. One approach that can be applied to reduce plastic waste in the environment is through the 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). One form of the 3R concept is Ecobrick. The purpose of this Ecobrick training is as a creative solution for managing plastic waste in the Merangin University campus environment. This community service activity involved students of the Biology Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology and students of the Biology Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Merangin University. The method used is a participatory approach consisting of 3 stages: preparation, implementation (socialization and counseling) and the final stage. The results obtained are that this Ecobrick-making training has a direct positive impact on the campus environment, increasing students' knowledge in managing inorganic waste with Ecobricks and forming students' habits of disposing of waste in the correct place and caring for the environment. Furthermore, through training and direct practice of Ecobrick-making not only enhances students' creativity. Students' active involvement in processing plastic waste into useful products such as chairs, tables, shelves and flower pots thus raises awareness that plastic waste can be processed into something of high value.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of emotional intelligence and individual characteristics on employee performance, both simultaneously and partially, and to identify the most dominant variable affecting the performance of employees at the Office of Micro Enterprises, Industry, and Trade of Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan. The research employed a quantitative approach with a survey method and multiple linear regression analysis. A total of 39 respondents were selected using the total sampling technique. The results show that emotional intelligence and individual characteristics simultaneously have a significant effect on employee performance. Partially, both variables also positively and significantly influence performance, with individual characteristics being the most dominant factor. This finding implies that employees with strong characteristics including work motivation, responsibility, self-confidence, and aligned personal values are more capable of performing tasks professionally and consistently in accordance with the principles of equal and fair public service. These findings reinforce human resource management theories that highlight the importance of personal attributes and emotional competence in supporting individual performance.
