Abstract

The rapid development of the digital era requires young generations to possess strong technological literacy from an early age. However, junior high school students often lack a basic understanding of programming and computational logic. At SMP Negeri 4 Kota Bengkulu, ICT learning still focuses on theoretical aspects and office tools rather than coding. Therefore, this community service activity was carried out to introduce basic Python programming as an effort to improve students’ digital literacy. The objective of this program was to equip students with foundational knowledge of programming, spark interest in technology, and support future curriculum development in coding-based ICT. The method used was a one-group pretest-posttest design, complemented by observation and questionnaires. The training involved 24 students from grades VII to IX. The evaluation showed significant improvement in student understanding, with an average score increase exceeding 150%. Student enthusiasm was high, the learn-by-doing approach proved effective, and Python’s simplicity made it suitable for beginners. This program concludes that Python programming introduction is a strategic step to strengthen digital literacy among junior high school students.

Abstract

Basic training on Microsoft Word and scientific writing was held at Pesma Putra Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu to improve the digital literacy of new students. This activity was based on the participants' lack of understanding of important features in Microsoft Word that support academic writing, such as headings, automatic table of contents creation, page numbering, and citation management. The implementation method adopted a hands-on approach (learning by doing) with material delivery, practical sessions, and evaluation through a Google Form-based pre-test and post-test. The assessment results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding. The average pre-test score showed low understanding, while the post-test score rose to the category of understanding and very understanding according to the Likert scale. In addition to the increase in numbers, participants also displayed high enthusiasm during the practice. This activity shows that short training using interactive methods can have a positive influence on students' basic skills in using word processing software for academic purposes. This service activity is expected to be a reference for implementing similar training in the future, as well as supporting the improvement of digital literacy in the campus environment, especially in welcoming new students.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of online gaming on the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children aged 8–12 at the Kasih Sayang Orphanage in Bengkulu. The intervention was conducted over a single day, utilizing educational and participatory observation methods, including interactive presentations, small-group discussions, semi-structured interviews, and observations during multiplayer gaming sessions (Minecraft, Mobile Legends, Free Fire, Clash of Clans). Data were analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach with thematic coding to categorize participants’ responses and behaviors. The findings reveal that before the intervention, the children tended to engage in excessive gaming, which negatively impacted their direct social interactions and self-regulation. Following the educational session, approximately 68% of the participants expressed a commitment to reducing their gaming duration and demonstrated more cooperative behavior during gameplay. This study highlights the effectiveness of contextual and participatory educational approaches in enhancing children's digital awareness and self-regulation, particularly within vulnerable environments such as orphanages. Therefore, ongoing support and active involvement of caregivers are strongly recommended to foster healthier gaming habits.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a voice command recognition system based on Machine Learning algorithms in supporting digital learning at Panti Asuhan Kasih Sayang, Bengkulu City. Four models were tested: DNN, LSTM, CNN, and Transformer. The Transformer model demonstrated the best performance with an accuracy of 93.4%, precision of 91.8%, recall of 92.1%, and F1-score of 92.0%, followed by LSTM with 90.2% accuracy, and DNN as the baseline with 84.7%. The system was tested in real-time with an average latency of 320ms and handled up to 28 voice commands per minute. The use of this system increased participants’ post-test scores by an average of 18 points and enhanced learning engagement by 85%. Qualitative data from interviews and focus group discussions indicated that the system supported students who struggle with text-based interfaces and was perceived as interactive and easy to use. These findings show that ASR based on Machine Learning is effective in low-resource settings and supports more inclusive learning aligned with the principles of Society 5.0.

Abstract

This research evaluates social forestry policies in Indonesia through the lens of human rights, focusing on the experiences of forest farmers within local communities. While social forestry is intended to empower marginalized groups, promote forest conservation, and ensure equitable access to resources, its implementation exposes systemic barriers that undermine the human rights of local communities. Such issues restrict the right of affected marginalised communities such as indigenous peoples and women. This exclusion perpetuates socio-economic inequalities and undermines their fundamental rights to fair participation and equitable resource distribution. Based on this observation, the study highlights significant gaps in policy implementation. By drawing comparisons with community-based forest management models in other countries, the study underscores the importance of collaborative governance and equitable benefit-sharing mechanisms. The findings emphasize the need for a rights-based, integrated approach to social forestry that prioritizes transparency, inclusivity, and the empowerment of marginalized groups. Aligning local implementation with global human rights and conservation goals is essential for achieving equitable, sustainable, and socially just outcomes in Indonesia's social forestry initiatives. Abstract

Character education is at the heart of the Islamic education system, emphasizing not only academic intelligence but also the development of the moral and ethical character of students (santri). Islamic education aims to cultivate a generation that embodies knowledge and noble character. Pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) play a strategic role in enlightening and empowering communities by providing education in religious knowledge alongside essential life skills. These institutions can inspire environmental education, teaching students to love and care for their surroundings. This research assesses the impact of a waste laboratory program in reinforcing the values of Islamic education at Pondok Pesantren Kebon Jambu, focusing on various aspects such as behavioral changes among students, increased awareness of waste management, and contributions to the surrounding environment. A qualitative approach is employed to explore individual experiences and perspectives within the social and cultural context of the pesantren. Through a case study methodology, at Pondok Pesantren Kebon Jambu, this program has successfully educated students about the importance of recycling and waste reduction, while also creating economic benefits through composting organic waste. With commitment and enthusiasm, we can achieve education that prioritizes not only knowledge but also strong character and concern for the environment.

Abstract

Kurikulum Merdeka merupakan program dari Kementerian Pendidikan yang memberi keleluasaan kepada sekolah untuk mengatur pembelajaran sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta didik dan kondisi lingkungan setempat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran orang tua dan keterbatasan alat peraga memengaruhi implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka di SDN Mawar 4. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data diperoleh melalui wawancara dengan kepala sekolah di SDN Mawar 4 dan dianalisis secara mendalam. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa orang tua masih belum sepenuhnya memahami tujuan dari Kurikulum Merdeka, terutama bahwa keberhasilan peserta didik tidak hanya dilihat dari nilai, tetapi juga dari sikap, karakter, dan keterampilan peserta didik. Peran serta orang tua yang kurang aktif menjadi tantangan tersendiri dalam mendukung proses pembelajaran. Selain itu, keterbatasan alat peraga juga menjadi hambatan dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar, meskipun guru telah berupaya mengatasinya dengan menggunakan media digital seperti video pembelajaran dan sumber daya yang tersedia. Meskipun menghadapi berbagai tantangan, guru dan sekolah tetap berusaha menjalankan Kurikulum Merdeka dengan menyesuaikan kondisi dan kemampuan yang ada, serta terus berupaya meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran secara bertahap.

Abstract

This study examines the overlapping public policy of Indonesian social forestry, focusing on the challenges and opportunities it presents. The analysis considers the various stakeholders involved in the implementation of social forestry programs and the implications for sustainable forest management. Additionally, the study explores the potential for integrating social forestry policies with broader environmental and social development goals. Through a comprehensive review of existing literature and case studies, this research aims to provide insights into the effectiveness of current social forestry policies and suggest recommendations for improvement. By examining the challenges faced by different stakeholders, such as local communities, government agencies, and environmental organizations, the analysis aims to identify areas for collaboration and conflict resolution. This research also seeks to highlight the economic, environmental, and social opportunities that can arise from successful implementation of social forestry programs. By linking social forestry policies with broader development goals, there is potential to achieve not only sustainable forest management but also improved livelihoods and environmental conservation. Ultimately, this study aims to contribute to the ongoing dialogue and efforts towards enhancing the effectiveness of social forestry initiatives worldwide.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian yang berjudul Kajian Pemeranan Tokoh Rita oleh Asmaul Husna dalam naskah Waktu Tanpa Buku di Kota Banda Aceh. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana pemeranan tokoh Rita dalam naskah Waktu Tanpa Buku. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemeranan yang dilakukan Asmaul Husna dalam Naskah Waktu Tanpa Buku. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah Asmaul Husna. Objek dalam penelitian ini adalah kajian pemeranan tokoh Rita dalam naskah Waktu Tanpa Buku, sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu teknik observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan dengan reduksi data (data reduction), penyajian data (data display), dan verifikasi data (conclusion drawing). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemeranan tokoh Rita yang dilakukan Asmaul Husna mengkaji tentang pembentukan karakter tokoh Rita dalam naskah Waktu Tanpa Buku dimulai dari pendalaman karakter, ekspresi, gesture, peran sosok Rita dalam naskah, apa saja yang ia lakukan dan teknik pemeranan apa yang ia lakukan.Kata Kunci: kajian, pemeranan, naskah, Waktu Tanpa Buku

Abstract

Kini Indonesia berada pada awal tahap kedua epidemi tembakau dengan prevalensi perokok pada penduduk berumur di atas 10 tahun mencapai 23,7%. Dalam memerangi epidemi tembakau, dokter memegang peran kunci membantu pasien berhenti merokok. Untuk mengetahui praktik dokter terkait perilaku merokok pasiennya telah dilakukan survei di Jakarta dengan sampel 96 dokter yang dipilih secara acak. Hasil survei menunjukkan hanya 1 dari 50 dokter yang merokok setiap hari (2,1%). Pengetahuan dan sikap dokter tentang merokok pada umumnya sangat baik, yaitu 93,8% mengetahui dampak negatif perokok pasif, 84,4% mengetahui bahwa rokok dengan kadar tar/nikotin rendah tetap membahayakan, 93,8% setuju menjadikan dokter sebagai role model perilaku tidak merokok, dan 95,8% setuju dengan kondisi bebas asap rokok di rumah sakit. Namun, dokter yang tidak selalu menanyakan kebiasaan merokok pasien cukup tinggi (66,7%) dan dokter yang tidak selalu memberikan nasehat kepada pasien untuk berhenti merokok (38%). Analisis regresi logistik menemukan bahwa dokter yang bekerja di bagian jantung dan paru berpeluang 28,4 kali lebih besar untuk menanyakan kebiasaan merokok pasien daripada dokter yang bekerja di bagian penyakit dalam. Penulis menyarankan agar dilaksanakan pendidikan dokter berkelanjutan tentang bahaya merokok dan pengendalian merokok. Indonesia is in the second phase of tobacco epidemic shown by 23,7% of people age 10+ years are smoking. In tobacco control programs, physicians play significant roles. To know how Indonesian physicians behave in facing smoking habits, a survey to 96 practicing physicians in three clinical departments has been undertaken in Jakarta. The survey identified that only one in 50 (2,1%) physicians smoke daily. As high as 93.8% physicians know about negative impact of passive smokers, 84.4% know that low tar/nicotine has significant impact on health, 93.8% agree that physicians should be one of the role model to smoking cessation, and 95.8% agree on free smoke environment in all hospital premises. However, 66.7% physicians did not regularly asking smoking behavior of their patients and 38% did not advice patients to stop smoking. Logistic regression produce 28.4 times higher probability of physicians in Lung and Heart Clinic to ask smoking behavior of their patients as compared to physicians in Internal Medicines. The authors suggest to introduce a special continuing medical education on smoking and smoking cessation of practicing physicians.
