Abstract

Processing of Sepang Wood (Caesalpinia sappan. L) in Desa Biru of Kahu Subdistrict Bone South SulawesiAbstract: Sepang wood has only been used as additional wood for coloring drinks, especially in the Buginese community. For generations, the Buginese people were consumed drinking water containing Sepang wood without knowing the health benefits and how to process it, so that it can become a high economic value product. The community partnership program focuses on improving community skills, namely Kelompok Tani Desa Biru and Kelompok Ibu PKK Desa Biru. The activities carried out were in the form of counseling in the form of awareness of the benefits of Sepang wood, training and demonstration (by doing) for processing Sepang wood for partner groups, and assistance. The results obtained from this partnership program are that the community is able to process Sepang wood into Bottled Drinking Water, namely Sepang Mineral Water and differentiation products, namely Teh Kayu Sepang Desa Biru (Sepang wood tea). The impact of this activity is an increase in processing of Sepang wood which was initially of less value into a product that is of economic value, namely Sepang Mineral Water (AMDK) and Sepang Wood Tea. In addition, public awareness will cultivate Sepang wood because people are beginning to realize the benefits of consuming Sepang wood. The touch of technology with the help of water purification devices with a reverse osmosis system resolves the problems of the Biru village community for the need for clean drinking water (drinkable) because drinking water in Biru Village contains high levels of hardness. Therefore, socially, skill and technology are very helpful and change the pattern of productivity of the community through the use of Sepang wood processing as the product of the superior product of Desa Biru and the products produced are close to the SNI 01.3553-2015 standard and SNI 01-3886-2000 for dry tea.

Abstract

The community service program aims to solve the problem of sugar cane group in Latellang village, Patimpeng sub-district, South Sulawesi province, about increasing business through product differentiation with a combination of ginger extract and pandan leaf extract. The combination is done to reduce the typical aroma of sugar cane in processed sugar. The distinctive aroma of sugar cane is what causes the lack of consumption of brown sugar from sugar cane, so the selling price is very low compared to brown sugar from sugar palm. The implementation of service includes several stages of preparation, cooking, cooling, and packaging. Through training, partners have been able to process sugar cane sugar into a differentiation product with a combination of ginger extract and pandan leaf extract into liquid sugar and recengan sugar with flavor variants according to the extract added. The selling price is very profitable for partners because liquid sugar can be sold at a price of Rp. 15,000 per bottle (250 ml) and recengan sugar is sold at Rp. 8,000 per pouch (each pouch consists of 6 recengan sugar seeds). This sale is very profitable because brown sugar cane is sold at a price of Rp.10,000 per kg, while to make liquid sugar and recengan sugar, only 500 g of sugar cane is needed. Therefore, this service has succeeded in helping to overcome partner problems and increase partner profits through the differentiation of sugar cane into liquid sugar and recengan sugar with combination.

Abstract

The problem of rice husk waste as a result of rice processing is a major problem in Sanrego Village, especially in the Pada Elo' Farmer Group. The accumulation of rice husk waste while the land area to accommodate a lot of rice husk waste during the harvest season forced the farmer groups to burn it. However, another problem that arises is the emergence of air pollution and the results of burning rice husk waste are useless because they are not used properly. Therefore, this community service will process the potential of rice husk waste into husk charcoal by providing information, knowledge, and skills on how to process rice husk waste into rice husk charcoal which can be used as an alternative media for ornamental plants which are currently the prima donna. The implementation method consists of three stages, namely Tudang Sipulung, Mario-rio, and Mappesabbi which are taken from the Bugis tradition of having a philosophy of working together, thus directing farmer groups to participate and be fully involved (participatory by doing). The results obtained by the average partner member experienced an 82,5% increase in information and knowledge aspects as well as skills and were able to grow their entrepreneurial spirit, especially processing rice husk waste.

Abstract

Curiosity is an attitude and action that always tries to find out more deeply and broadly from something that is learned. Meanwhile, analogy is a thought process to draw conclusions based on similar processes or data. This is inversely proportional to the reality in the field based on the observations of researchers at University of Muhammadiyah Bone, researchers see that the curiosity and analogy skills of college student in the economic learning process are still classified as very low. Lecturers can strive for learning by using innovative, effective and creative learning, which can provide opportunities and encourage college student to have high curiosity in order to practice their analogical reasoning skills. In connection with this, the efforts made by researchers to build curiosity and analogy skills of college student in economic learning, namely the need for a scientific approach or a scientific process-based approach which is the organization of learning experiences in a logical order including the learning process by observing, questioning, collecting information, reason (associate) and communicate. The type of research used is quantitative research using experimental quantitative methods. The research design used, namely Quasi Experimental Design with the form of Non-equivalent Control Group Design. The results of this study are proven by the results of the analysis of the recapitulation of the student's analogy ability test which can be seen in the average final test in the experimental class, which is 7,621 and the initial test reaches a value of 6,961. While the results of the final test recapitulation of the analogy ability of college student in the control class reached a value of 6,276 while the initial test results reached a value of 7.5. While the results of student responses are in the valid and reliable category.

Abstract

The ROAR learning model is learning that gives students the broadest opportunity to develop concepts, pre-existing ideas become new concepts. The concept is built through direct observation because during learning the teacher presents examples of reality so students will be more critical with the concepts of reality, so that in the end they are able to connect the material based on the concept of reality they are building. This integration aims to have concepts related so that the meaningfulness of learning can be achieved. This study is an experimental study with a nonequivalent control group design with a research focus on social studies subject material in junior high school 8th grade. The results of the analysis of the test analysis show that the application of the ROAR learning model has a consistent impact on students' conceptual understanding abilities. Positive responses from teachers and students to the application of the ROAR learning model as an alternative solution in supporting success in improving the ability to understand concepts that have implications for student motivation and learning achievement.

Abstract

It is currently endeavored to try to learn science learning from an early age to children, especially in kindergarten. Learning is directed towards creative and critical thinking that is able to direct children's high order thinking skills. The community service program with the PKM-M scheme was carried out at TK PGRI, Palattae Village, Bone Regency regarding the problems of teachers as partners in teaching science in the classroom to make it easier and more interactive through the design of a science corner (Sci-Co). This service was carried out in three main stages, namely counseling, design, and dissemination of the Sci-Co design. Learning using Sci-Co will be able to make children more critical and able to analyze events or phenomena that are often encountered in a child's environment, such as rain. Even though this program is conducted online, it is able to build teachers' skills in presenting Sci-Co in a simple way, the result of the teacher's own creativity with less than one week of processing time at the same time the teacher claims that this Sci-Co will help him accommodate children's knowledge in learning so that it is more meaningful less than one hour.

Abstract

Batteries are one of the secondary interests that are needed in everyday life. The increasing use of batteries causes a buildup of used batteries that have been thrown away so far. In fact, battery waste includes waste that is difficult to decompose and contains hazardous and toxic materials, so it requires special handling in dealing with it. One effort that can be done is to recycle used batteries through processing banana peel waste into an electrolyte paste to replace carbon in the battery. This processing is carried out through dissemination of practical processing to PKK Dusun Kallimpo, Palakka Village, Kahu District with the product in the form of Bio-Battery. The activity was carried out in three stages, namely socialization, training and monitoring. The end result of this service is an increase in the knowledge and skills of PKK Dusun Kallimpo partners in processing banana peels into Bio-Battery as seen from the positive partner preferences with a percentage of 98%.
