Abstract

Abstract. In contemporary Indonesian literature, trauma analysis typically employs psychoanalytic or cognitive psychology. The application of Skinner's behaviorism theory to understand the mechanism of trauma in main characters in literature is still quite controversial. However, it can offer different perspectives on how the main character can develop a strategy for coping with trauma. This study analyzes the traumatizing references made by the main character, Magi Diela Tolo, in Perempuan Yang Menangis Kepada Bulan Hitam by Dian Purnomo. The three main areas of focus for the study are factors that cause trauma, forms of trauma that arise, and the methods used by the main character to recover from the experienced trauma. This research employs a descriptive qualitative method with an isi analysis technique. Data collection is conducted by examining the text and analyzing it using the concepts of reinforcement and stimulus-response from behaviorism theory, B.F. Skinner, and then analyzing the results based on the study's findings. According to the study's findings, the three main factors that contribute to Magi trauma are beliefs in Yappa Mawine customs, peer pressure, and persistent discrimination from the general public. This trauma manifests as psychological symptoms like depression and anxiety, as well as physical symptoms like physical ailments. Magi outlines three strategies for coping with this trauma: treating the person as an internal source of strength, reflecting on oneself using positive thinking, and working to improve the environment to aid in the healing process. This study contributes to the field of literary psychology by offering behaviorism as an alternative to trauma analysis in Indonesian novels. It is hoped that all of the information regarding this strengthening mechanism will give rise to fresh ideas about behavioral therapy for trauma, particularly regarding gender-based and traditional victim violence. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan bentuk gaya bahasa dalam film dirty vote pada media sosial youtube ; (2) mendeskripsikan fungsi gaya bahasa dalam film dirty vote pada media sosial youtube. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Model analisis bentuk dan fungsi gaya bahasa yang digunakan ialah model analisis gaya bahasa menurut J. S. Badudu dan Damayanti, R. Fokus penelitian ini ialah berfokus terhadap pengkajian fungsi dan bentuk gaya bahasa dalam film dirty vote pada media sosial youtube. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa kata atau kalimat, dan narasi dalam film dirty vote pada media sosial youtube. Data dalam penelitian ini bersumber utama pencarian data berasal dari portal website youtube. Video dirty vote ini diunggah pada tahun 2024 menjadi data dari penelitian ini. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah mengumpulkan dan menyusun data studi terkait ada tiga kategori dapat digunakan untuk mengklasifikasikan data kualitatif: hasil pengamatan, hasil pembicaraan, bahan tertulis. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen penelitian, yaitu: peneliti bertindak sebagai instrumen utama dan instrumen pendukung berupa handphone, alat tulis, laptop, dan panduan pengumpulan data.

Abstract

Innovations in higher education learning systems that adapt to advances in digital technology are designed to encourage students to be more active in learning activities and to improve their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Critical reading is a critical thinking skill that consists of mental processes such as analysis, synthesis, and evaluation. The blended learning model is an innovative approach to higher education that combines face-to-face learning with online learning. Through video conferencing and online discussion forums, students can interact with reading materials, share ideas, and clarify their understanding. This study aims to analyze the impact of implementing blended learning on improving students' critical reading skills in higher education. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the blended learning model has an impact on improving students' critical reading skills. This is evidenced by the difference between the average initial and final critical reading skills of students. The blended learning model encourages students' independent engagement in learning outside the classroom, enabling them to be more active in analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating reading texts.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan literasi digital melalui workshop pemanfaatan Artificial Intelligence (AI) dalam pembelajaran bagi guru Sekolah Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs). Metode yang digunakan adalah pelatihan berbasis partisipatif yang meliputi ceramah, demonstrasi, praktik langsung, dan diskusi. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest, angket kepuasan peserta, serta analisis produk pembelajaran yang dihasilkan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam memanfaatkan Artificial Intelligence (AI) untuk pengembangan bahan ajar, media pembelajaran, dan evaluasi pembelajaran. Peserta juga menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan yang tinggi terhadap materi dan pelaksanaan workshop. Kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam peningkatan kompetensi literasi digital guru serta mendukung transformasi digital di lingkungan pendidikan Sekolah Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the correlation between vocabulary mastery and short story writing skills among seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 24 Makassar. The research conducted is descriptive correlational in nature and employs a quantitative approach. The population of this study was all seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 24 Makassar, with a sample determined using purposive sampling, namely 34 seventh-grade students. Data collection techniques used two instruments, namely a multiple-choice vocabulary mastery test and a short story writing skills test. Data analysis techniques consisted of descriptive statistics to describe the data for each variable and inferential statistics with Spearman's rank correlation test. The results showed that the students' vocabulary mastery level was in the sufficient category with an average score of 62.35. Meanwhile, the students' short story writing skills were in the low category with an average score of 35.29. The Spearman correlation test obtained a correlation coefficient of 0.293 with a significance of 0.093 (p > 0.05), which means that there was no significant correlation between vocabulary mastery and short story writing skills. These findings indicate that short story writing skills are not determined by vocabulary mastery but are influenced by factors such as text structure mastery, creativity, reading experience, and writing motivation.

Abstract

Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Penelitian ini berfokus pada bentuk-bentuk eufemisme yang terdapat dalam buku teks Bahasa Indonesia SMP/MTS Kelas VIII. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah berupa bentuk kata, frasa, dan klausa yang berbentuk eufemisme. Sedangkan sumber data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh dari dua buku teks yang berbeda, yaitu: buku teks Bahasa Indonesia SMP/MTs kelas VIII edisi revisi tahun 2017 dan Buku teks Bahasa Indonesia SMP/MTs Kelas VIII tahun 2021. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah human instrument. Selanjutnya, teknik analisis data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis data model interaktif dengan tahapan analisis data, yaitu: reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 12 kata yang termasuk ke dalam bentuk eufemisme. Temuan tersebut, dikelompokkan dalam bentuk eufemisme menjadi nomina, kata berimbuhan, kata ulang dan kata majemuk. Eufemisme bentuk frasa ditemukan 10 gabungan dua kata yang membentuk satu kesatuan makna. Sedangkan Eufemisme bentuk klausa ditemukan 4 kelompok kata yang terdiri dari subjek dan predikat yang membentuk makna yang lebih halus dan  dianggap sopan.

Abstract

The existence of local belief adherent groups in Indonesia continues to face challenges of marginalization and modernization. Amidst this vulnerability, the Towani Tolotang indigenous community in Sidenreng Rappang Regency demonstrates strong cultural resilience through the execution of the Sipulung tradition. This study aims to explore and analyze in depth the socio-cultural and economic significance of this communal tradition, which is proven to transcend mere dogmatic worship rituals. This study employed a qualitative, reflexive ethnographic approach. Primary data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and field notes at the Perrinyameng ancestral tomb site. The data were subsequently validated through source and methodological triangulation. The results show that the Sipulung tradition operates as a structural ecosystem that supports the community’s life sustainability through five main dimensions. First, the spiritual dimension manifests absolute obedience to Dewata Seuwae through the contemplative practice of Molalaleng guarded by the Uwatta figure. Second, the cultural education dimension transmits ancestral values through the habituation of early childhood. Third, the social dimension strengthens mechanical cohesion by regathering the Passompe within an inclusive space. Fourth, the economic dimension deconstructs the idea that ritual expenditure constitutes symbolic capital accumulation driven by the Resopa na temmangingngi hard-work ethos. Fifth, the entertainment dimension through the Massempe’ sport functions as a cultural catharsis. In conclusion, Sipulung is not merely a pilgrimage rite but a resolution instrument guaranteeing minority existence. These findings recommend the need for local government policy intervention to protect civil rights. Furthermore, the establishment of spatial protection for the Perrinyameng area is highly required as a bastion of indigenous community resilience.
