Abstract

This study aims to develop guidelines and provide an overview to optimize the health of nursing staff in public hospitals in Jakarta. This research method uses a pilot project starting from data collection, problem analysis, problem priority setting, preparation of a plan of action, implementation and evaluation. Research respondents were 54 room heads and 479 nursing staff. Problem analysis was performed using a fishbone diagram. The results of the analysis show that there is a problem in the form of not optimal adoption of healthy nurse behavior due to the absence of a guide for healthy nurses, the SPO has not been compiled and there are still nurses who do not know about the behavior of healthy nurses. In conclusion, the solution to the problem is to draft a guide for healthy nurses in the hospital. Keywords: Health Optimization, Guidelines for Healthy Nurses, Nursing Staff

Abstract

This study aims to develop tools in solving the problem of service flow and patient density in the ER and develop solutions to solve them. The method used is the analysis of results and implementation gaps using a literature review. Problems were analyzed using fishbone and solved using PDCA tools. The data were analyzed descriptively by looking at the frequency distribution of staff perceptions regarding the density of patients in the ER. The results showed that 98% of the staff said the activation of the ER full of crowds was 1x in one shift, 46.9% said the response time after the full ER system was activated was more than 6 hours, 64% said the time required for patients in the emergency room to get an outpatient Hospitalization is around 24-72 hours and 85.7% said the use of the crowded emergency room system was not optimal in overcoming the density of patients in the emergency room. In conclusion, the management in overcoming the problem of overcrowded ER by nurse managers is not optimal in terms of follow-up after the system is activated. The involvement of nurse managers in the inpatient department is needed in the problem of patient density in the ER. Keywords: Management Function, Overcrowded Emergency Room, Nurse Manager

Abstract

This study aims to identify nurse managers' implementation of the nursing supervision function during the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used is a case study starting with data collection through interviews, surveys and document searches. The results showed that the head of the room had performed the supervisory directive function well (89%), but the nurses' perception of the implementation of nursing supervision carried out by the head of the room during the COVID-19 pandemic was sufficient (77%). In conclusion, nursing supervision activities during the COVID-19 pandemic were not optimal due to maintaining distance and minimizing close contact. The nursing supervision that can be carried out is the use of platforms to avoid direct contact and the possibility of nurses being exposed to COVID-19 infection. Abstract

This study aims to identify the determinants of nurses' commitment to providing nursing care in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic. The research design used a cross-sectional approach involving 221 nurses and team leaders at two public hospitals in West Kalimantan. The results showed that the determinants of nurses' commitment in providing nursing care in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic were emotional intelligence (p=0.001) and superior support (p=0.009). Each additional emotional intelligence point and support from superiors will increase nurses' commitment to providing nursing care by 0.239 times and 0.125 times, respectively. Factors of age, length of work, gender, education level, marital status, and work unit room were not related to nursing commitment (p > 0.05). In conclusion, the factor most related to nurses' responsibility in providing nursing care in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic is emotional intelligence. Abstract

This study aims to identify the development of discharge planning implementation, which is attempted by compiling a discharge planning guide based on the knowledge management SECI Model. The method used is a pilot project that starts from the problem, analyzes problems, prioritizes, prepares action plans, implements and evaluates structures and discussions based on literature review. The results showed that nurses' knowledge of care planning needed further improvement, while perceptions of care planning wanted a revision of standard operating procedures. In conclusion, the implementation of discharge planning can be done by optimizing the control function either at the head of the room or at the service level, and the SECI model knowledge management method guide is an effort that can assist the discharge planning implementation process. Abstract

This study aims to identify the implementation of the clinical authority of nurses in outpatient units based on the level of competence of nurses. The research method used is a case study (identification of problems, problem analysis and problem priority setting, preparation of Plan of Action (POA), implementation and evaluation). The results showed that the performance of clinical authority by nurses according to the level of the career path they had, namely nurses with PK I level of clinical authority were sometimes carried out (66.7%), PK II Medical Surgery (50%) and PK III Medical (57.1%) levels of authority. Clinically, it is rarely performed, at the level of PK III, the clinical authority is often performed (60%), at the PK III level, the clinical authority is emergency (100%), the PK III level is Neuroscience. Clinicians often do it (50%) and the PK III, Nephrology level of clinical authority, is always done (75%). In conclusion, there are still many particular actions according to the level of competence that is rare and cannot even be carried out because there are no such actions in outpatient installations. Abstract

Background: Nurses who fought against Covid-19 are generally under pressure, so they are prone to anxiety and stress. This problem certainly affects the nurses' self-efficacy in caring for Covid-19 patients. Therefore, it is necessary to have support from nurse managers and colleagues to overcome this problem. This study aims to identify the correlation between nurse managers and peer support with nurses' self-efficacy in caring for Covid-19 patients in hospitals Methods: This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples was 167 nurses from the Covid-19 referral hospital in Cirebon with the accidental sampling technique. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test and multiple logistic regression tests. Results: The results showed that there was a correlation between peer support and nurses' self-efficacy (p <0.001), and there was not a correlation between nurse manager support and nurses' efficacy in caring for Covid-19 patients in hospitals (p = 0.229). The most influential factors on nurses' self-efficacy were peer support (OR: 3.207) and gender (OR: 2.229). Conclusion: Peer support was related to increasing the nurse's efficacy in caring for Covid-19 in the hospital. The recommendation is the hospitals need to increase support for nurses by providing motivation, information, and counselling for individuals who need it. Therefore the emotional burden of nurses can be reduced, and self-efficacy becomes better in doing the job.

Abstract

Background: The Interprofessional Education (IPE) program is important for preparing health professions students to provide future interprofessional collaborative practice. The Universitas Indonesia Health Sciences Cluster has been implementing the IPE program since 2013. A comprehensive evaluation is required following the implementation of the IPE program. The aim of the study was to evaluate the IPE course based on perceptions of undergraduate students at the Universitas Indonesia from 2013 to 2017. Methods: A mixed-methods study utilizing a semi-structured questionnaire was conducted with first year students following the completion of the first stage of the IPE course. A total of 2355 students (56.35%) from the 2013–2017 academic years completed the questionnaire. Results: The results showed that students’ perceptions of the IPE course improved each year on the domains of clear and relevant learning objectives, student-centered teaching methods, staff support, and supporting infrastructures. However, some room for improvement was identified, such as the need for tutors to have a more neutral attitude toward every student despite their background differences. Conclusion: The IPE course has been well perceived by students because of its comprehensive instructional design and principles of IPE that are implemented in the curriculum. The continuous cycles of improvement to maintain the quality of the IPE program will remain a challenge.
