Abstract

This cross-sectional study aimed to validate students' metacognition awareness inventory in Heat and Temperature material. A total of 167 public senior high school students in Yogyakarta, Indonesia were selected through convenience sampling technique. The heat and temperature metacognition awareness inventory (HeTMAI) inventory consists of six factors, namely: 1) Knowledge of cognition; 2) Planning; 3) Monitoring; 4) Evaluation; 5) Debugging; and 6) Information management. HeTMAI used a 5-point Likert scale. The data was analyzed using the confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) method through the Maximum Likelihood approach. All statistics were found to meet acceptance values. The four GOF indices (χ2/df=2.36, CFI=0.97, TLI=0.97, and SRMR=0.06) have supported the fit of the six-factor HeTMAI model. Standardized factor loading (SFL), construct reliability (CR), average variance extracted (AVE) and discriminant values provide evidence that HeTMAI has sufficient convergent and discriminant validity. Cronbach's alpha value of 0.96 indicated HeTMAI has very adequate evidence of reliability.

Abstract

This research is experimental research. The research aims to analyze the absorbance and wavelength values on the certain color spectrum based on the age of noni leaf sample. Variation in absorption and wavelength occurs in the red spectrum ranges between 650 to 700 nm. Maximum absorption occurs in the middle of noni leaf followed by the tip of noni leaf sample but the yellow leaf sample results poor absorption. Chlorophyll a has main leaf pigment the most which occurs in the light reaction of photosynthesis. The maximum absorption which ranges between 3,5 to 4,0 A occurs in the blue spectrum ranges between 400 to 450 nm. Chlorophyll b absorbs photon energy in sun light. A wavelength ranges between 500 to 600 nm occurs in the green spectrum which has low absorption of three samples ranges 0,5 to 1,5 A. The chlorophyll reflects light of the green spectrum; therefore, it causes low absorption.

Abstract

Remote learning has reformed the normal tradition of physics instruction in the existence of COVID-19 pandemic. The previous documentation of student’s misconception is mostly discovered in the normal condition of physics instruction. Regarding to the pandemic outbreak is necessary since distance learning routines have absolutely influence the physics education outcomes all over the world. To explore the issues, this quantitative study has descriptively identified students' misconception on projectile motion in the frame of graphic and figural representations. The six items of Busyairi and Zuhdi’s three tier test were administered to the 76 students in a Javanese public high school, Indonesia. Overall, the Arslan, Cigdemolu, & Moseley’s categorical framework classified that the whole participants still congregate in the misconception’s groups on projectile motion. The lack of students’ representation on projectile motion might be magnified by the pandemic restrictions in providing appropriate visualization on projectile concept. Finally, the author suggested that the alternative of online learning during the outbreak have not yet been effectively engaged to promote the physics representation on projectile motion.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the spectrum of the human voice based on the accents of several regions. This research is included in the type of experimental research. Data were collected from 4 male respondents aged 23 years as research subjects. Respondents come from Central Java, East Java, Jambi, and South Sulawesi or come from Javanese, Malay, and Bugis ethnicities. Each respondent pronounces the vowels /a/ and /e/ as well as the consonants /b/, /d/, and /g/ once in each sound under normal circumstances or does not have throat problems or other things that make the sound abnormal. Voice recording is done in a closed and quiet room without any disturbance by using a microphone connected to a laptop using the cool record edit pro application. The sound spectrum was analyzed using Praat verse 2 software, then the recording was converted to *wav format. Furthermore, the sound spectrum analysis procedure uses software to determine the shape of the spectrum, the maximum or minimum pitch frequency (F0), and the formant frequency of F1-F4 in each sample. The results showed that the response of men from South Sulawesi had the highest tone of 156 Hz in the letter /b/ and 145 Hz in the letters /d/ and /g/ respectively. while the lowest tone of voice owned by men from the Jambi area is 105 Hz, 109 Hz, and 102 Hz for each consonant and the output from F0 (pitch) to F1-F4 (formant) can change and does not describe the high pitch, meaning the formant will always high.
