Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of religiosity and mutual cooperation on lecturers' organizational commitment, as well as the role of mutual cooperation as a mediator of religiosity, and to assess the quality of the model formed. A quantitative research design with a survey method was used to collect data from 163 lecturers at 13 Health Sciences Colleges in Jakarta. Data analysis was performed using Partial Least Square-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that mutual cooperation and religiosity have a significant direct influence on lecturers' organizational commitment. Additionally, religiosity also has an indirect effect through mutual cooperation. These findings underscore the importance of mutual cooperation in creating a harmonious work environment, supporting collaboration, facilitating professional growth, and building an inclusive organizational culture. The practical implications of this study suggest that higher education institution management can design programs to enhance lecturers' organizational commitment by focusing on mutual cooperation and religiosity.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify and verify whether rice prices do play a role in driving national inflation using time series data. The time series data for this study spans from 2017 to 2023 on a monthly basis. To facilitate our analysis, we subject the data to standardized stationary tests, serving two essential purposes. Firstly, these tests ascertain the constancy of mean, standard deviation, variance, and covariance for each observation. Secondly, they aid in determining the extent of integration among the variables under scrutiny. For this particular purpose, we employ the Augmented Dickey-Fuller Test for Unit Roots. The outcomes of these stationary tests provide crucial insights, directing policy decisions to effectively address the challenge of inflation. It is widely acknowledged that the factors driving inflation rates, not only in Indonesia but globally, can be classified into two primary categories, the first being associated with the money supply. The research findings distinctly demonstrate that while rice certainly plays a role, it is not the exclusive or singular underlying cause of fluctuations in the inflation rate.

Abstract

The education system in the 21st century needs some transformation, particularly in terms of enhancing thinking skills. Traditional games that are well-designed can be an effective strategy for stimulating higher order thinking Skills (HOTS). This research aims to develop active and creative learning models by utilizing traditional games to stimulate HOTS in early childhood. The current study is included in the descriptive-qualitative research. Data was collected using offline and face-to-face interview techniques. 20 teachers took part in this research. The finding illustrates that HOTS can be stimulated from an early age with several conditions, including developing play and learning activities that are well managed, fun, and consider the interests of early childhood. Games that effectively stimulate HOTS such as Dolanan Gatheng, Bekel Ball, Tuk Tuk Geni, Gotah Games, Gundu, and Congklak. Children also need to carry out simple and fun science activities, so they are trained to think and act scientifically and systematically. There are several suggestions regarding opportunities for future research applications. This research only includes traditional games to stimulate HOTS. Other researchers may also consider other innovative methods or other kinds of games that are also effective for increasing HOTS in early childhood. Abstract

Acquiring a foreign language necessitates navigating practical situations that transcend linguistic and cultural barriers. Therefore, it is the teachers’ responsibility to develop these abilities. However, teachers rarely do so in a foreign language (FL) teaching. Integrating culture into the process of language teaching becomes crucial. Utilizing the textbook is one method to incorporate culture into the FL classroom, as it contains cultural material and linguistics.  Limited research has been devoted to pedagogical analysis compared to the extensive concentration on content analysis in ELT textbook studies. The study aims to examine the teachers’ approaches to cultural depictions in an international English for Foreign Language (EFL) textbook, intending to educate students on a global worldview. The present study employed a qualitative research method with a case study design. The study recruited two junior high school English teachers who taught seventh-grade students at a private school in East Java, Indonesia. These teachers had incorporated cultural elements into their teaching. The instruments used to accomplish the research purpose were observation and post-observation interviews. The study's findings have verified that teachers utilized a comparative approach in presenting foreign cultural elements from the supplementary book to enhance English language learning. Exploring the students’ culture and contrasting it with foreign cultures has the potential to inspire greater participation from students in classroom activities. Using this strategy enables students to develop their English language proficiency in both linguistic and cultural aspects.
