Abstract

Electronic Medical Record Storage is an activity of storing data on digital-based media in health service facilities. Based on the results of interviews with level 2 students, it was found that there is no application for borrowing and returning medical record files for learning on campus. The aim of this research is to design a system. borrowing and returning medical records as a learning medium for students of STIKES Dharma Landbow Padang. This type of research uses the Research and Development development method. This research was carried out at STIKES Dharma Landbouw Padang in December 2022 - July 2023. The population in this research is RMIK level 2 students with a sample size of 50 people taken by Simple Random Sampling. This research was carried out using interviews and observations, the data was processed using computerization. The research results showed that the flow of borrowing and returning medical record files at the STIKES Dharma Landbouw Padang campus had been done manually in expedition books and treacers, but now it has developed with the design of an application for borrowing and returning medical record files which produces output and uses a black box. which means the application is running well according to student needs. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that there is a need for learning, practice and development of the application system for borrowing and returning medical record files by the STIKES Dharma Landbouw Padang campus in order to make it easier and shorten the time for students to store and return medical record files in order to train students before going out into the field for street vendors or work later.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of anxiety indicators on the speaking abilities of students in a bilingual junior high school setting, focusing on the challenges faced in English language usage within the classroom. Employing qualitative descriptive methods, including observations and interviews, the research encompassed 27 students and one English teacher. The analysis identified two predominant forms of anxiety affecting the students: a fear of making mistakes and a lack of self-confidence, which notably impaired their interaction in English with peers and educators. The study suggests implementing "English Day" activities as a strategic intervention to reduce linguistic anxiety and promote language skills, thereby improving students' communicative performance in English. This approach holds implications for enhancing language acquisition strategies in bilingual educational contexts.

Abstract

Research into misconceptions is crucial in the field of education, particularly in subjects like chemistry, which are complex and prone to misunderstandings. Misconceptions—ideas held by individuals that deviate from established scientific understanding—can arise from various sources, including students, teachers, textbooks, and instructional methods. These inaccuracies can hinder effective learning and need to be addressed to enhance educational outcomes. Identifying and remediating misconceptions is challenging, requiring specialized tools and methods. Therefore, research into misconceptions aims to uncover and correct these misunderstandings to improve teaching strategies and student comprehension. Therefore, the research in this article is concerned with the practicality of the application of chemical representation diagnostic tests to identify chemical misconceptions, particularly on chemical equilibrium and chemical bonding materials. This research was carried out at Surabaya State University participated by 24 students from the Chemistry Education Study Program. In this research, the practicality of the chemical misconception diagnostic test application was obtained at 98.6% which indicates that the application is practical to use. In addition, obtained data on student diagnostic results, namely: 88.3% did not understand the concept; 10.4% had misconceptions; and 1.3% understood the concept on the topic of chemical bonding. Keywords: misconceptions, five-tier diagnostic test, chemical bonding, online application

Abstract

This study aims to produce a valid four-tier multiple-choice diagnostic test instrument based on validity and reliability and to detect students misconceptions the concept of chemical bonds using the developed instrument. The research design used in this development uses research and development (R&D) of Thiagarajan's modified 4D model consisting of four stages, namely the stages (define, design, develop, disseminate). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that (1) the validity of the instrument who reviewed from the content and construct aspects has a score mode of 4, (2) the Cronbach Alpha value is 0.825 which means it is reliable and (3) the misconception profile owned by students for each sub-material of ionic bonds is 33%, metal bonds are 40% and covalent bonds are 51.51%. Based on the results of validity and reliability, the diagnostic test instrument developed can be declared valid for use.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the validity of the Electronic Learner Activity Sheet (E-LAPD) for reaction rate to improve critical thinking skills with the 7-E learning cycle learning model developed. The development model in this research is ADDIE with four stages Analyze, Design, Development, and Evaluate. The validation results were analyzed based on the mode in each aspect. Based on the validation results, it was found that the developed reaction rate E-LAPD has a good category with a score of 3 on the content validity aspect and a good category with a score of 3 on construct validity. Furthermore, reaction rate electronic learner activity sheet can be used in the learning process in the classroom to determine the practically and effectiveness of the developed reaction rate electronic worksheet

Abstract

Purpose: The presence of social entrepreneurship can serve as a compelling catalyst, motivating individuals to embrace entrepreneurship as a means to address local challenges and foster innovation. Methodology: This study uses a qualitative approach with an exploratory case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and internal document analysis. The interviewed participants were founder and orphanage children who were actively involved in entrepreneurial activities. Findings: Drawing upon the Motivation, Ability, and Opportunity (MOA) framework, the findings revealed that motivation stems from a strong social spirit and personal lifelong dreams. Opportunities arise from the unique concept of socio entrepreneur in orphanages and ease of obtaining funds, while abilities include social skills, leadership, financially independent and social capita). Originality: Research in the field of social entrepreneurship is also still limited. The primary objective was to delve deeper into the motivations of social entrepreneurs within orphanages and identify factors contributing to their success in fostering entrepreneurship Research limitations: The outcome resulting from entrepreneurship is a rich mindset, enjoying sharing, having my income, and increased motivation to become an entrepreneur. This finding needs further explanation and exploration using quantitative methods to better results.

Abstract

The Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) approach to learning plays an important role in improving teacher competency, learning innovation, and technology use skills. However, the results of an initial survey at Sekolah Indonesia Makkah showed that 44.12% of teachers faced challenges in the form of a lack of training and understanding related to STEM integration. This study involved 34 teachers and aimed to improve their ability to implement STEM-based learning through the Collaborative Professional Development (CPD) approach. The results showed that teachers who participated in CPD activities experienced a significant increase in their understanding and readiness to implement STEM. In addition, teachers began to realize the benefits of STEM learning in developing students' affective, cognitive, and psychomotor aspects, as well as its potential as a means of career guidance. As many as 52.94% of teachers stated that they strongly believed that STEM was important to implement, and 58.82% considered the CPD program to be continued. This study recommends that CPD training be carried out continuously with more applicable and contextual materials. Strengthening collaboration between teachers and the integration of STEM-based curriculum is also needed to support the sustainability and effectiveness of the program in the long term.
