Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of principal leadership in improving the effectiveness of educational management in schools. Effective educational management is highly dependent on the ability of school principals to plan, organize, implement, and evaluate various school programs in order to achieve educational goals. The background of this research is based on the increasing demands for quality education in the era of globalization, which requires strong leadership to ensure that all school resources are managed optimally. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method to obtain in-depth information regarding the leadership practices of school principals in managing educational activities. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings show that principal leadership plays a crucial role in improving teacher performance, student learning outcomes, and overall school effectiveness. Principals who apply participative, transformational, and instructional leadership styles are more successful in creating a positive school climate and improving educational quality. The study concludes that strong and visionary leadership from school principals significantly contributes to the effectiveness of educational management. Therefore, strengthening leadership competence is essential for improving school quality and achieving educational goals effectively.

Abstract

This study investigates the intertextuality in Veronica Roth's Divergent by examining the thematic and narrative relationships between the novel and earlier dystopian literary works. Grounded in Julia Kristeva's theory of intertextuality and Gérard Genette's concept of transtextuality, the research explores how Divergent absorbs, transforms, and reconstructs established dystopian conventions to generate new meanings within contemporary young adult fiction. Employing a qualitative descriptive design and library research approach, the study uses Divergent as the primary source of data, while books and scholarly publications on intertextuality, dystopian literature, and literary criticism serve as secondary sources. Data were collected through close reading, textual documentation, and thematic coding, and analyzed using qualitative textual analysis focusing on thematic intertextuality and hypertextual narrative transformation.The findings reveal that Divergent establishes significant intertextual relationships with canonical dystopian novels, particularly Nineteen Eighty-Four, Brave New World, The Giver, and The Hunger Games. These relationships are evident in the reconstruction of major dystopian themes, including identity, social conformity, freedom, resistance, fear, knowledge, and social classification. However, Veronica Roth does not merely replicate these earlier texts; instead, she transforms their ideological and narrative structures to address contemporary concerns regarding diversity, individuality, ethical responsibility, and personal agency. From Genette's perspective, Divergent functions as a hypertext that creatively adapts the dystopian tradition by modifying the protagonist's developmental journey, institutional power structures, conflict patterns, and representations of authority. The concept of "Divergence" itself serves as a symbolic reinterpretation of identity that challenges rigid systems of categorization and promotes the coexistence of multiple human qualities.The study concludes that intertextuality in Divergent functions as a creative strategy for literary innovation rather than simple textual borrowing. By engaging in dialogue with earlier dystopian narratives, Roth constructs a novel that simultaneously preserves the conventions of the dystopian genre and redefines them for twenty-first-century readers. This research contributes to contemporary literary criticism by demonstrating how intertextuality enriches the thematic complexity and narrative originality of young adult dystopian fiction while expanding scholarly discussions beyond feminist, ideological, and sociological approaches that have dominated previous studies of Divergent.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih maraknya praktik manajemen laba dalam pelaporan keuangan akibat konflik kepentingan antara manajemen dan pemilik perusahaan serta adanya insentif ekonomi dalam pemilihan kebijakan akuntansi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kualitas audit, leverage, dan profitabilitas terhadap manajemen laba dengan ukuran perusahaan sebagai variabel moderasi pada perusahaan manufaktur di Indonesia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) terhadap perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia dan dipilih melalui purposive sampling, dengan manajemen laba diukur menggunakan discretionary accruals serta variabel lainnya diproksikan sesuai karakteristiknya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas audit, leverage, dan profitabilitas berpengaruh terhadap manajemen laba, serta ukuran perusahaan terbukti memperkuat hubungan antara leverage dan manajemen laba, tetapi tidak memoderasi hubungan kualitas audit dan profitabilitas terhadap manajemen laba.

Abstract

Bullying remains a frequent issue in Indonesia, particularly among elementary school students. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of anti-bullying educational and socialization activities carried out by students of the P3K Program at the Indonesia University of Education in an elementary school in Purwakarta. The background of this research is the increasing cases of bullyingboth direct and digitalwhich negatively affect students' social and emotional development. This study employed a descriptive quantitative method involving fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-grade students as research subjects. Data were collected through the Secret Box during the pre- and post-activity stages, as well as through documentation of educational activities such as poster competitions, educational video screenings, and socialization sessions. The findings indicate an improvement in students understanding of the definition, forms, and impacts of bullying, along with the development of empathy, social awareness, and commitment to respectful behavior. Moreover, creative and participatory approaches proved effective in engaging students actively, allowing anti-bullying messages to be more easily understood and internalized. Therefore, the anti-bullying education and socialization program, supported through collaboration among university students, teachers, and pupils, is proven effective in enhancing students comprehension while fostering a safer and more inclusive school culture.

Abstract

Upaya pendokumentasian sayuran lokal sangatlah penting untuk dilakukan. Hal ini disebabkan keragaman sayuran lokal yang terancam punah oleh perubahan zaman, alih fungsi lahan, dan pola konsumsi masyarakat. Paper ini mendiskusikan keragaman sayuran lokal di Kabupaten dan Kota Kediri, Jawa Timur. Metode penelitian menggunakan survey eksplorasi melalui teknik wawancara terstruktur. Daerah survey mencangkup 15 pasar tradisional yaitu Gurah, Pare, Induk Pare, Pagu, Plemahan, Ngadiluwih, Grogol, Wates, Gempengrejo, Papar, Mojo, Pahing, Setono Betek, Grosir Ngronggo dan Bandar. Responden yang diwawancarai pada saat survey adalah pedagang sayur yang menjual sayuran lokal. Total jumlah responden di 15 pasar tradisional adalah 40 orang. Data yang didapatkan dianalisis secara deskriptif menggunakan software excel. Paper ini mendokumentasikan 28 spesies dari 16 famili tanaman. Sayuran lokal yang banyak diperjualbelikan adalah kenikir, kacang panjang, kangkung dan kemangi. Sedangkan sayuran yang dijumpai sedikit diperjualbelikan adalah kucai, selada air, nangka, dan terung pokak. Sayuran lokal khas daerah tersebut adalah sintrong dan sembukan. 61% sayuran lokal yang ditemui sudah dibudidayakan, 21% dibudidayakan tetapi masih dipungut dari alam, sisanya sebanyak 18% merupakan sayuran yang masih dipungut dari alam. Sayuran yang dipungut dari alam seperti pakis, sintrong, sembukan, bambu dan lamtoro mempunyai potensi untuk didomestikasi menjadi tanaman budidaya.

Abstract

Riset ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh dewan direksi wanita, sifat narsisme CEO, dan corporate social responsibility (CSR) terhadap tax avoidance, dengan good corporate governance (GCG) sebagai variabel pemoderasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis regresi Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 102 perusahaan yang dipilih melalui metode purposive sampling. Data yang digunakan merupakan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari laporan tahunan BEI 2018-2023. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dewan direksi wanita, variabel CSR berpengaruh signifikan positif terhadap tax avoidance, sedangkan variabel sifat narsisme CEO berpengaruh signifikan negatif. Dari hasil uji MRA telah dihasilkan kesimpulan bahwa GCG mampu memoderasi hubungan variabel dewan direksi wanita dan juga variabel CSR terhadap tax avoidance, namun GCG tidak mampu memoderasi hubungan sifat narsisme CEO terhadap tax avoidance. Temuan ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap literatur mengenai perilaku penghindaran pajak serta pentingnya peran tata kelola perusahaan yang baik dalam menekan praktik-praktik yang tidak etis di lingkungan korporasi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis Pengaruh Komite Audit, Komisaris Independen dan Green Accounting Terhadap Nilai Perusahaan Melalui Profitabilitas. Sampel penelitian ini ditentukan dengan menggunakan purposive sampling sehingga diperoleh 48 perusahaan perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar BEI periode tahun 2021-2023. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Software Smart PLS Versi 3.0 yang menerapkan metode SEM. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Komite Audit tidak berpengaruh terhadap Profitabilitas, Komisaris Independen berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap Profitabilitas, Green Accounting tidak berpengaruh terhadap Profitabilitas, Komite audit tidak berpengaruh terhadap Nilai Perusahaan, Komisaris Independen tidak berpengaruh terhadap Nilai Perusahaan, Green Accounting tidak berpengaruh terhadap Perusahaan, Profitabilitas berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap Nilai Perusahaan, Profitabilitas tidak mengintervening hubungan antara Komite Audit dan Nilai perusahaan, Profitabilitas mengintervening pengaruh komisaris independen terhadap nilai perusahaan, Profitabilitas tidak mengintervening hubungan antara green accounting dan nilai perusahaan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of love of money and Machiavellianism on the ethical perceptions of accounting students, as well as to assess the role of ethical sensitivity as a moderating variable. The research sample consisted of 101 accounting students obtained through the distribution of questionnaires to active students of the Accounting Study Program at Wijaya Kusuma University Surabaya in the 2022 and 2023 batches who had taken the Business and Professional Ethics course. The analysis was conducted using a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method through the SmartPLS 4 application. The results showed that love of money and Machiavellianism had a negative and significant effect on students' ethical perceptions. Ethical sensitivity was found to moderate the influence of love of money on ethical perceptions, but did not moderate the influence of Machiavellianism. These findings indicate that certain personality factors can weaken students' ethical judgments, and that increasing ethical sensitivity through learning can help strengthen the way students assess ethical issues.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan kinerja metode Saving Matrix dan Nearest Neighbor dalam optimalisasi rute distribusi peralatan elektronik di Batam, serta mengevaluasinya terhadap metode aktual yang digunakan oleh perusahaan. Pendekatan kuantitatif diterapkan dengan menggunakan data yang mencakup lokasi pelanggan, volume pengiriman, dan kapasitas kendaraan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode Saving Matrix memberikan hasil paling efisien, dengan total jarak tempuh 54,3 km, waktu pengiriman 5,2 jam, dan biaya operasional sebesar Rp785.000. Sebaliknya, metode Nearest Neighbor menghasilkan jarak 62,7 km dan biaya Rp905.000, sementara metode aktual perusahaan mencatat jarak terpanjang yaitu 68,5 km dan biaya tertinggi sebesar Rp970.000. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa metode Saving Matrix mampu mengoptimalkan rute dan pembagian beban distribusi dengan lebih baik. Penelitian ini berkontribusi dalam bidang perencanaan logistik dengan menekankan pentingnya penggunaan metode heuristik dalam permasalahan rute kendaraan. Saran untuk perusahaan adalah untuk mulai mengadopsi metode algoritmik dalam perencanaan distribusi. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan untuk mengembangkan model dengan metode metaheuristik serta mempertimbangkan faktor dinamis seperti waktu layanan pelanggan dan kondisi lalu lintas untuk hasil yang lebih akurat.

Abstract

For over a decade, the unceasing dissemination of English as a global language, consciously or not, has influenced the concepts of the ELT across the world. Some countries persist in the adaptation of the concepts of EFL or ESL in their practical ELT contexts wherein the cultures of the inner-circle countries, like the US and the British, are still dominant in their teaching materials. Others; however, prefer to alternate the ELT concepts to either EIL or ELF in their own teaching contexts in which the cultural contexts in the teaching materials are the integrations of the cultures of the inner-circles, the outer-circle, and the expanded countries or the international cultures along with their own local cultures. This paper aimed to overview the deconstruction of the formulation concepts of the cultural dominance in the ELT textbook in the context of Indonesia’s high schools. This review addresses the dichotomies of the concepts of EFL/ESL, EILand ELF along with the cultural dominances embedded on the conceptual terms. This study is literature -based research when collecting data through extensive and critical reading and analysis of existing academic works related to ELT, cultural representation, and linguistic imperialism. Thisstudy draws on existing academic works to explore how the hegemony of English is embedded in English textbooks. The result of this study shows that the linguistics imperialism continues shaping the materials and sources of ELT textbooksin Indonesia. The content and structed of Indonesian ELT textbooks highlight the cultural values and perspective of inner-circle countries. Although EFL concept is still dominated in Indonesian context, there is a growing awareness of the need to shift towards more inclusive curriculum when local content and perspective more embedded. Further, this research elucidates critical reflections on an ideology, economy, and politics of language the linguistics Imperialism, as well as possible recommendation to what possible, applicable concepts should be adjusted to the Indonesia’s ELT textbook.
