Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the steps of implementing the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model in the skill of writing simple sentences in French; (2) describe the results of students' ability to write simple sentences after implementing the TGT cooperative model; and (3) inform students' responses to the TGT cooperative learning model.The study used a pre-experimental method with a one-shot case study design. The research instruments included observation sheets for researcher and student activities, a test of simple French sentence writing skills, and a questionnaire. The sample consisted of 30 students at one of the SMKN in Bandung City. The results of the study showed that the treatment stages included: presenting material, dividing students into 6 teams of 5 people, facilitating group discussions, providing games in the form of simple sentence writing skill exercises, summarizing student scores and writing test results on the board, and giving awards to groups.The test results showed an average score of students' simple French sentence writing skills of 8.83 with a mastery level of 8.83% which is included in the good criteria. This shows that the TGT type cooperative learning model can help students achieve good French simple sentence writing skills. The results of the questionnaire showed that 96.67% of students liked learning French with the TGT type cooperative learning model, 86.67% felt helped in improving their French language skills through French simple sentence writing skills, and more than 96.66% felt enthusiastic about learning French with the TGT type cooperative learning model. Thus, this TGT type cooperative learning model can be used as an alternative in language teaching, especially French simple sentence writing skills.

Abstract

This article discusses Acehnese entries found in the Great Dictionary of the Indonesian Language (KBBI). The objective of this study is to assess the contribution of the Acehnese language in the KBBI based on lexicographic aspects. This study employs a qualitative descriptive research design with lexicographic approach. All data were collected on April 20, 2024, using document analysis techniques. The results of this study conclude that there are 142 entries in the KBBI originating from the Acehnese language. Of these 142 entries, 97 or 68.31% are nouns, 32 or 22.54% are verbs, 1 or 0.70% is adverb, 8 or 5.63% are adjectives, 1 or 0.70% are phrases, and 3 or 2.11% are not classified. Acehnese entries contribute only 0.12% of the 120,551 entries in the KBBI. Acehnese entries in the KBBI consist of basic word entries, compound words, and phrases. Reviewed by form, Acehnese basic entries consist of words and compound words. In terms of meaning, there are 26 Acehnese entries with homonym numbers and 2 entries that are polysemous. This study also found the writing of combinations of vowels and consonants different from the Standard Spelling Guidelines (EYD). Acehnese entries in the KBBI include vowel combinations such as ue, ie, and ui, while consonant combinations include ph, bl, dr, kr, pl. It is hoped that the latest edition of the Standard Spelling Guidelines (EYD) will accommodate vowel and consonant combinations from the Acehnese language.

Abstract

Motivation to learn is very important to achieve learning goals, especially learning French language which is not the mother tongue for Indonesian students. Therefore, it is important to investigate the affective characteristics of those who motivate them to learn French. The research aims to see the effects of goal setting, self-efficacy, self-regulation and course attitude on motivation to learn French for students in Indonesia. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach, where 112 students participated in this research, and the data analysis process used was path analysis. The results of statistical testing show that goal setting, self-efficacy, self-regulation and course attitude have a significant effect on motivation to learn French. This proves that intrinsic and cognitive factors play a role in increasing students' motivation to learn a second language. In an indirect relationship, course attitude mediates the relationship between goal setting and self-efficacy on motivation to learn and also shows positive and significant results. This research contributes to evaluating the factors that influence student motivation in increasing effectiveness in learning a second language, namely French for Indonesian students.

Abstract

The reading ability of students in the field is still very worrying. This is reinforced by the low ability of students to understand material or questions that require higher-order thinking skills. The low reading comprehension ability can be seen from the low literacy ability of students based on PISA rankings. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the reciprocal teaching model on students' reading comprehension skills in terms of students' self-concept levels. The approach used in this research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental method. The participants of this study were 100 elementary school students who were divided into two groups of 50 students each in the experimental and control groups. Data was collected through reading comprehension tests and observations. Data analysis was performed by two-way ANOVA. The results showed that the Reciprocal Teaching model gave a more significant contribution to students' reading comprehension skills compared to conventional methods, especially for students who had low self-concept. Based on the findings above, it is concluded that the Reciprocal Teaching learning model has an effect on students' reading comprehension skills. Both reciprocal and conventional learning models have the same effect on students who have high self-concept. The implication of this research is that teachers must choose a learning model that can accommodate all students, not only students with high academic abilities, but also students with low academic abilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menguraikan tahapan penggunaan media Youtube Learn French with FrenchPod101.com dalam pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara bahasa Perancis Tingkat A1; (2) mendeskripsikan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Perancis siswa sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media Youtube Learn French with FrenchPod101.com dalam pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara bahasa Perancis Tingkat A1; dan (3) menyampaikan tanggapan siswa tentang penggunaan media Youtube tersebut dalam dalam pembelajaran keterampilan berbicara bahasa Perancis Tingkat A1. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-eksperimental dengan desain one group pretest-postest dengan mengacu pada kriteria penilaian Tagliante, (2005: 136) Yang diujikan kepada 24 siswa dengan rata-rata nilai pretest sebesar (38,67%), dan nilai postest sebesar (68,17%). Dari hasil tersebut menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan sebesar (29,5%). Hasil kuisioner menunjukan bahwa 71% siswa memberikan tanggapan positif terhadap penggunaan media ini karena dapat memudahkan dalam mempelajari keterampilan berbicara bahasa Perancis. Peneletian ini menujukan bahwa penggunaan media Youtube dengan pendekatan short conversation dapat mendukung pengembangan keterampilan berbicara bahasa Perancis pada level A1 secara signifikan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi penerjemahan metafora dari bahasa Prancis ke dalam bahasa Indonesia dalam novel Candide ou l’optimisme karya Voltaire. Fokus utama penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi strategi penerjemahan yang digunakan oleh penerjemah dalam menerjemahkan metafora. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik analisis data berdasarkan teori penerjemahan metafora oleh Larson. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerjemah menggunakan berbagai strategi, seperti penerjemahan metafora ke metafora dengan citra yang sama, metafora ke metafora dengan citra yang berbeda, metafora ke simile dan metafora ke ungkapan non-figuratif. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan mengenai tantangan dan kompleksitas dalam menerjemahkan metafora, serta kontribusi teoritis dan praktis bagi studi penerjemahan sastra.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan strategi penerjemahan puisi yang digunakan dalam lima puisi Bahasa Perancis karya Victor Hugo yang telah diterjemahkan ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia pada situs Bacapetra.co. Fokus dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan strategi khusus penerjemahan puisi berdasarkan tinjauan Lefevere, mendeskripsikan strategi untuk menerjemahkan struktur & makna berdasarkan teori Suryawinata Hariyanto, serta strategi penerjemahan untuk gaya bahasa kiasan puisi yang diusulkan Liu Qiong & Zhang Xiaobing. Melalui metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik simak dan catat pada setiap baris dalam setiap bait untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis strategi yang digunakan oleh penerjemah. Dari data yang telah dianalisis, jenis strategi khusus yang digunakan hanya strategi interpretasi(59.46%), literal(39,19%),dan fonemik(2,7%). Strategi modulasi (37,84%) dominan digunakan pada strategi struktur. Strategi makna didominasi oleh strategi penyusutan & perluasan(24,32%). Strategi Penerjemahan gaya bahasa cenderung menggunakan jenis penerjemahan harfiah(28.38%), lalu penerjemahan harfiah-makna(24.32%), dan Penerjemahan penggantian (22.97%).

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi dan menganalisis persepsi mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan Instagram sebagai media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara bahasa Prancis tingkat A1. Mengingat pentingnya integrasi teknologi dalam pendidikan untuk tetap maju, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi strategi dan praktik terbaik dalam memanfaatkan fitur-fitur Instagram untuk pembelajaran bahasa Prancis. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif dan desain survei. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Perancis di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia dengan sampel sebanyak 100 orang yang diambil secara purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner tertutup dan terbuka yang disebarkan secara daring melalui Google Forms. Analisis deskriptif digunakan untuk kuesioner tertutup, sedangkan analisis tematik digunakan untuk data terbuka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 71,71% mahasiswa menilai penggunaan Instagram dalam pembelajaran bahasa Prancis sebagai baik, terutama karena konten yang menarik dan interaktif serta menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung praktik berbicara. Berbagai format konten di Instagram, seperti video, infografis, dan interaksi komunitas, sangat membantu dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara. Responden merasa lebih termotivasi dan percaya diri dalam menggunakan bahasa Prancis dalam situasi sehari-hari. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi berharga dalam memahami bagaimana media sosial, khususnya Instagram, dapat dimanfaatkan untuk pembelajaran bahasa Prancis dan mendorong pengetahuan ilmiah tentang penggunaan teknologi digital dalam pembelajaran bahasa asing.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are fundamental skills in 21st-century learning. One of these skills is influenced by students' reading literacy. However, reading literacy activities in elementary schools have yet to be maximized. This study aimed to analyze teachers' needs in elementary school learning and produce a prototype of the Tri Hita Karana Reading Literacy model. This type of research is research and development (RnD). The research and development model design used was adapted from Borg and Gall's theory. The subjects involved were 55 teachers in the preliminary study, 6 people, and 2 practitioners for the product feasibility test. Methods of data collection for preliminary study are using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The research results show that teachers must develop a model to maximize students' literacy activities. Second, the average calculation of the validator's assessment results is 4.3, which means it is in the very good category, with an average number of content aspects of 4.3, layout and design aspects of 4.2, and grammar of 4,4. These results indicate that the THK Literacy Model is considered to have met the validity criteria. The conclusion of the experts regarding the development of this model is that the model can be used with several revisions.

Abstract

This study reveals that many students struggle with narrative writing, particularly in terms of word choice, theme, and grammar, while the solutions provided by teachers often do not meet individual needs. The aim of this study is to identify students' preferences, challenges, and solutions in narrative writing. A descriptive-qualitative approach was employed, involving 166 fifth-grade students from an elementary school as subjects. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews with teachers, and questionnaires c filled out by students and then analyzed thematically, focusing on difficulties in idea development, vocabulary usage, writing structure, and the solutions offered by teachers. The results show that although students have a high interest in writing stories, they face difficulties in creating a coherent storyline and in developing characters and settings. Other major challenges include vocabulary use and grammar comprehension. Students' preference for group writing and gamification elements indicates great potential for increasing their motivation and engagement. Strategies such as group brainstorming and the use of visual aids have proven effective in helping students design better storylines, enhance creativity, and overcome limitations in narrative structure. In conclusion, collaborative approaches, gamification, and interactive technology can effectively improve students' narrative writing skills by addressing their individual preferences and challenges.
