Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk (1) mendeskripsikan penggunaan serta penerapan teknik reduksi dalam kata kerja "être" dan "avoir"; serta (2) menganalisis tingkat keberterimaan dari hasil terjemahan dalam film tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengambilan data dengan metode simak bebas libat cakap dan teknik catat. Teori yang diadopsi adalah teori penerjemahan yang mencakup ideologi, metode, teknik, dan kualitas keberterimaan. Ideologi yang dianut dalam penelitian ini adalah foreignisasi dan domestikasi menurut Venuti (1995). Metode yang diterapkan adalah adaptasi (saduran) berdasarkan Newmark (1988). Teknik terjemahan yang digunakan, khususnya reduksi, mengacu pada Molina dan Albir (2002). Kualitas keberterimaan penerjemahan merujuk pada konsep yang diuraikan oleh Nababan (2010). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kata kerja "être" sering digunakan untuk menyatakan kondisi atau identitas, dengan être principal muncul dominan dalam konteks domestikasi, sedangkan être auxiliaire juga sering diterapkan dan diterjemahkan dengan tepat. Kata kerja "avoir" digunakan untuk menunjukkan kepemilikan atau pengalaman, dengan avoir principal juga dominan dalam konteks domestikasi, sedangkan avoir auxiliaire sering diterjemahkan kurang akurat. Temuan ini mengimplikasikan pentingnya pemahaman mendalam tentang perbedaan antara verbe principal dan verbe auxiliaire bagi siswa bahasa Perancis untuk membangun kalimat yang lebih akurat dan nuansa dalam komunikasi

Abstract

Reading comprehension ability is something that students need to master, but students' interest and ability in reading comprehension in Indonesia is still very low. This is partly caused by the less than optimal use of methods or media used by teachers. This research aims to determine the effect of video-assisted guided reading methods on elementary school students' reading comprehension abilities. The method used in this research is a Quasi Experimental method with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design research design. The research sample consisted of 250 elementary school students who met the researchers' criteria. Data collection techniques in this research are tests, observation sheets and documentation studies. The instrument used is a text that has 2 topics, namely natural disasters and social inequality. Meanwhile, the data analysis used is the t test and regression test. The t-test was carried out to determine the effectiveness of the guided reading method. Apart from that, standard regression test data analysis was also carried out to see which type of understanding was superior, textual or inferential based on the type of text. The research results showed that the reading comprehension ability of students who received guided reading method intervention experienced a significant increase. Improved comprehension skills were seen in textual and inferential comprehension. Apart from that, readers with good inferential abilities also have a good level of comprehension. In contrast to readers whose understanding is textual, they have a good level of understanding only in the textual aspect.

Abstract

The issue of reading literacy is a frequently discussed topic in the Indonesian education system. However, the main problem does not lie in the literacy activities themselves but rather in the reading materials provided for children. This research aims to analyze how elementary school teachers choose reading materials for their students. It utilizes a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection involves observation, interviews, and documentation in four different elementary schools. The primary sources of this research are the interviews and observations conducted with teachers of upper-grade classes (grades 4, 5, and 6). An interesting finding in this research is that elementary school teachers select children's literature based on literary elements and its relevance to the Indonesian language teaching materials. For a more comprehensive explanation, this aspect is further discussed in the article. In conclusion, elementary school teachers choose reading materials based on the intrinsic elements of the work, and there is no comprehensive assessment in the selection process.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the steps of implementing the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model in the skill of writing simple sentences in French; (2) describe the results of students' ability to write simple sentences after implementing the TGT cooperative model; and (3) inform students' responses to the TGT cooperative learning model.The study used a pre-experimental method with a one-shot case study design. The research instruments included observation sheets for researcher and student activities, a test of simple French sentence writing skills, and a questionnaire. The sample consisted of 30 students at one of the SMKN in Bandung City. The results of the study showed that the treatment stages included: presenting material, dividing students into 6 teams of 5 people, facilitating group discussions, providing games in the form of simple sentence writing skill exercises, summarizing student scores and writing test results on the board, and giving awards to groups.The test results showed an average score of students' simple French sentence writing skills of 8.83 with a mastery level of 8.83% which is included in the good criteria. This shows that the TGT type cooperative learning model can help students achieve good French simple sentence writing skills. The results of the questionnaire showed that 96.67% of students liked learning French with the TGT type cooperative learning model, 86.67% felt helped in improving their French language skills through French simple sentence writing skills, and more than 96.66% felt enthusiastic about learning French with the TGT type cooperative learning model. Thus, this TGT type cooperative learning model can be used as an alternative in language teaching, especially French simple sentence writing skills.

Abstract

This article discusses Acehnese entries found in the Great Dictionary of the Indonesian Language (KBBI). The objective of this study is to assess the contribution of the Acehnese language in the KBBI based on lexicographic aspects. This study employs a qualitative descriptive research design with lexicographic approach. All data were collected on April 20, 2024, using document analysis techniques. The results of this study conclude that there are 142 entries in the KBBI originating from the Acehnese language. Of these 142 entries, 97 or 68.31% are nouns, 32 or 22.54% are verbs, 1 or 0.70% is adverb, 8 or 5.63% are adjectives, 1 or 0.70% are phrases, and 3 or 2.11% are not classified. Acehnese entries contribute only 0.12% of the 120,551 entries in the KBBI. Acehnese entries in the KBBI consist of basic word entries, compound words, and phrases. Reviewed by form, Acehnese basic entries consist of words and compound words. In terms of meaning, there are 26 Acehnese entries with homonym numbers and 2 entries that are polysemous. This study also found the writing of combinations of vowels and consonants different from the Standard Spelling Guidelines (EYD). Acehnese entries in the KBBI include vowel combinations such as ue, ie, and ui, while consonant combinations include ph, bl, dr, kr, pl. It is hoped that the latest edition of the Standard Spelling Guidelines (EYD) will accommodate vowel and consonant combinations from the Acehnese language.

Abstract

Motivation to learn is very important to achieve learning goals, especially learning French language which is not the mother tongue for Indonesian students. Therefore, it is important to investigate the affective characteristics of those who motivate them to learn French. The research aims to see the effects of goal setting, self-efficacy, self-regulation and course attitude on motivation to learn French for students in Indonesia. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach, where 112 students participated in this research, and the data analysis process used was path analysis. The results of statistical testing show that goal setting, self-efficacy, self-regulation and course attitude have a significant effect on motivation to learn French. This proves that intrinsic and cognitive factors play a role in increasing students' motivation to learn a second language. In an indirect relationship, course attitude mediates the relationship between goal setting and self-efficacy on motivation to learn and also shows positive and significant results. This research contributes to evaluating the factors that influence student motivation in increasing effectiveness in learning a second language, namely French for Indonesian students.

Abstract

The reading ability of students in the field is still very worrying. This is reinforced by the low ability of students to understand material or questions that require higher-order thinking skills. The low reading comprehension ability can be seen from the low literacy ability of students based on PISA rankings. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the reciprocal teaching model on students' reading comprehension skills in terms of students' self-concept levels. The approach used in this research is quantitative with a quasi-experimental method. The participants of this study were 100 elementary school students who were divided into two groups of 50 students each in the experimental and control groups. Data was collected through reading comprehension tests and observations. Data analysis was performed by two-way ANOVA. The results showed that the Reciprocal Teaching model gave a more significant contribution to students' reading comprehension skills compared to conventional methods, especially for students who had low self-concept. Based on the findings above, it is concluded that the Reciprocal Teaching learning model has an effect on students' reading comprehension skills. Both reciprocal and conventional learning models have the same effect on students who have high self-concept. The implication of this research is that teachers must choose a learning model that can accommodate all students, not only students with high academic abilities, but also students with low academic abilities.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini dilandasi oleh keterbatasan kemampuan bahasa asing selain bahasa Inggris yaitu bahasa Perancis para pegawai hotel dan restoran di kabupaten Badung, Bali. Sedangkan tahun 2024 ini Menparekraf berharap Bali mampu menjaring tujuh juta wisatawan mancanegara. Wisatawan Prancis, merupakan wisatawan terbanyak ketujuh yang datang ke Bali. Berangkat dari sasaran tersebut, program pengabdian ini akan menerapkan pelatihan bahasa Perancis Pariwisata yang dapat memberikan wawasan kebahasaprancisan kepada para pegawai hotel dan restoran di Badung - Bali, sehingga akan bermuara pada peningkatan kualitas kebahasaan mereka. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk 1) memberikan pelatihan Bahasa Perancis Pariwisata bagi para pegawai hotel dan restoran di Badung - Bali; 2) mengadakan simulasi teknik Jeux de rôles- actes de parole. Bentuk pengabdiannya adalah berupa pelatihan teknik Jeux de rôles-actes de parole berbasis kearifan lokal dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Perancis Pariwisata bagi pegawai hotel dan restoran di Badung – Bali. Selain itu dihasilkan pula buku saku Dialog Praktis Bahasa Prancis Pariwisata.

Abstract

Kekhawatiran menyangkut Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI) salah satunya berkenaan dengan nasionalisme, tidak boleh terjadi penurunan nasionalisme terhadap bangsa dan negara Indonesia di mana pun kita berada. Hal yang paling krusial adalah para PMI harus memiliki kepedulian terhadap bangsa dan negara Indonesia, baik terhadap masalah yang terjadi di dalam negerinya maupun masalah yang menyangkut kebijakan luar negeri negaranya. Untuk mengantisipasi sedini mungkin agar jangan sampai nasionalisme para PMI tergerus oleh aktivitas mereka di luar negeri, dalam hal ini di wilayah Johor Bahru, Malaysia, maka dilaksanakan kegiatan “Penyuluhan Bela Negara untuk Meningkatkan Nasionalisme Pekerja Migran Indonesia (PMI) di Malaysia”. Hasil dari kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat beberapa upaya yang dilakukan oleh pihak terkait dalam mengembangkan nasionalisme PMI  di Johor Bahru, yakni (1) memberikan edukasi tentang hak dan kewajiban sebagai Warga Negara Indonesia, (2) memberikan layanan optimal kepada PMI salah satunya advokasi, dan (3) mengadakan pertemuan rutin untuk berbagi informasi dan pengalaman masing-masing

Abstract

Abstract: One of the fundamental steps to improving human resources is eliminating illiteracy within the community. This research examines efforts to address illiteracy in Sukajaya Village, Tarogong Kidul Sub-district, Garut Regency. Despite having educational facilities up to the Vocational High School level, many adult residents, particularly mothers, still face challenges with literacy. The Arisan Baca Indung program aims to empower women by enhancing their reading skills through a creative group learning approach. Participants also engage in social activities like arisan. The program's primary objectives are to reduce illiteracy, increase awareness of the importance of education, and promote women's involvement in local economic development through agricultural opportunities. It is expected to positively impact family welfare and children's education in Sukajaya Village.Keyword: Illiteracy; learning; housewife; reading; writing.Abstrak: Salah satu langkah fundamental yang perlu dilakukan untuk meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia adalah memberantas buta aksara di kalangan masyarakat. Penelitian ini membahas upaya mengatasi buta aksara di Kelurahan Sukajaya, Kecamatan Tarogong Kidul, Kabupaten Garut, yang meskipun memiliki fasilitas pendidikan hingga tingkat Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan, masih menghadapi tantangan terkait tingkat literasi masyarakat dewasa, khususnya ibu-ibu. Program Arisan Baca Indung dirancang untuk memberdayakan perempuan dengan meningkatkan kemampuan membaca melalui pendekatan kelompok belajar yang kreatif, di mana peserta juga dilibatkan dalam kegiatan sosial seperti arisan. Tujuan utama program ini adalah menurunkan angka buta aksara, meningkatkan kesadaran akan pentingnya pendidikan, dan mendorong partisipasi perempuan dalam pengembangan ekonomi lokal melalui potensi pertanian. Program ini diharapkan dapat memberi dampak positif bagi kesejahteraan keluarga dan pendidikan anak-anak di Kelurahan Sukajaya.
