It was analyzed by a referential method. Andersson and Hughes theories were used to analyze the swear word categories and the motives. Pinker theory was to explain the swearing types. The research shows there are 2 forms of swear words i.e. high for 13 % and low for 87 %. The categories are (a) sexual organs, sexual relations 16 %, (b) religion 13 %, (c) excrement 16 %, (d) physically-mentally disabled 12 %, (e) prostitution 3 %, (f) drugs and crime 3 %, (g) skin color 3 %, (h) family member 10 %, (i) age level 3 %, (j) skin disease 3 % , (k) body size 3 %, (l) animal 7 %, and (m) height level 3 %. The swearing types are abusive swearing 39 %, idiomatic swearing) 42 %, emphatic swearing 3 %, chatartic swearing 16 %. The motives are psychology motive 55 %, social motive 32 %, and working condition motive 16 %. It shows that Pasa Lauak community is creative in creating the swear words. Swear words have negative and positive impacts.

Abstract

The problem of this research was carried out the Covid-19 pandemic which made the learning process at SMP Negeri 2 Meral no longer apply face-to-face learning and conduct learning from home or online learning, made the practice of physical education is not effective and efficiently. This study aims to analyze the learning process at SMP Negeri 2 Meral, Karimun Regency during the pandemic Covid-19. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that 1) During the pandemic Covid-19, schools made the decision that the learning process was carried out at home (online learning) because to break the chain of Covid-19 and to implementation this teachers were provided with training to make teachers easier doing online learning in physical education. 2) The physical education learning process during the pandemic using the application WhatsApp both the theoretical and practical assignments according to teacher directions. 3) The assessment process is carried out directly and the teacher directly provides input related the theoretical and practical assignments, in the assessment process using the application Office 365. 4) In the online learning process there are still some problems like lack of IT knowledge (Information Technology Science), and some of the students do not have android phones, its make the learning process not effective and efficient 5) To support the learning process, the school has prepared some facilities like wifi and free quota for teachers and students to make online learning easier. English has been well-known as the world's international language. As a means of global communication, it should be actively mastered both orally and in writing. Writing is one of the skills that must be mastered by the students. It is related to the words, phrases, clauses and sentences. Then, if the meaning is unclear, people will misunderstand about the meaning of the sentences. The research investigated student errors in writing the English mathematical operations. The research is focused on the operation of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. The research used qualitative approach using test and interview to collect the data. After conducting the research, it shows that there are some types of errors found such as incomplete materials error, technical errors, errors in understanding the previous material, and language misinterpretation. Meanwhile, student errors in the type of data misuse, theorems and definition of misuseand also unverified solutions are not found on the research.

Abstract

This study addresses the growing disconnection between scientific health promotion and traditional cultural practices in multicultural societies. In Indonesia, particularly in West Sumatra, indigenous health knowledge rooted in Minangkabau philosophy has long emphasized balance, respect, and communal well-being. However, in the context of globalized sports nutrition and cross-cultural communication, these values are often marginalized or misinterpreted. The challenge lies in integrating ethical communication with traditional health practices, such as the consumption of stingless bee honey (Galo-galo), into modern health and sports systems without reducing them to mere commodities. The research aims to explore the intersection of cross-cultural communication ethics, multicultural values, and sports nutrition by examining the functional role of West Sumatra honey as both a nutritional and cultural medium. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study analyzes how Minangkabau health traditions can be ethically conveyed in pluralistic contexts to promote athlete performance and public well-being. Laboratory findings indicate that West Sumatra stingless bee honey exhibits superior phytochemical properties, with total phenolic content ranging from 39.98 to 81.02 mg GAE/g and α-glucosidase inhibition of 67.6%, confirming its strong antioxidant and anti-hyperglycemic potential. In applied sports contexts, supplementation with Galo-galo honey correlates with stable blood glucose levels and faster heart rate recovery (HRR) in rowing and soccer athletes. By integrating Minangkabau philosophical ethics, such as duduk samo randah and tagak samo tinggi, the study proposes a model of ethical communication grounded in empathy and cultural humility. The results underscore that fostering cross-cultural communication ethics through traditional resources not only enhances physical performance and health but also strengthens social harmony and cultural resilience in an increasingly globalized era.

Abstract

The rapid evolution of digital communication has transformed linguistic interaction into a spatially distributed phenomenon, wherein meaning emerges through multimodal cues embedded in virtual environments. This study examines the psychological implications of spatial cybertext environments, interactive, hypertextual spaces within social media, on psycholinguistics students who navigate these platforms as both users and analysts of language. Grounded in pragmatic and psycholinguistic frameworks, this research employs a qualitative descriptive approach to explore how spatial discourse structures, multimodal symbols, and digital affordances shape users’ cognitive and emotional engagement. Data were collected from in-depth interviews, participant observations, and online discourse samples drawn from academic social media interactions. The findings indicate that students’ exposure to spatial cybertexts leads to three distinct psychological phenomena: (1) cognitive tension due to multimodal overload and fragmented attention; (2) pragmatic drift arising from context ambiguity and algorithmic mediation; and (3) metapragmatic awareness, reflecting a heightened sensitivity to language use, politeness, and identity performance in digital contexts. The study concludes that pragmatic awareness functions as both a cognitive and emotional regulator, enabling psycholinguistics students to sustain interpretive coherence amid digital overstimulation. The research offers insights into how spatial discourse in social media environments redefines the relationship between language, cognition, and affect in contemporary digital learning.

Abstract

The globalization of the Indonesian language through the Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) programme has evolved from a simple linguistic exercise into a sophisticated instrument of cultural diplomacy and international education. As Indonesia's economic and cultural influence grows, more and more international students, researchers, and professionals want to learn the language. The pedagogical challenge in BIPA has transitioned from the acquisition of grammar and vocabulary to the cultivation of sociopragmatic competence. Research highlights a critical realization: the primary obstacle for international students is not necessarily cognitive or linguistic capacity but a lack of understanding regarding the cultural discourse that governs thinking and speaking within the Indonesian context. This suggests that language and culture are inextricably linked, forming a singular nexus where communication only becomes meaningful through the lens of cultural orientation
