Abstract

Higher education is a subsystem that includes a program of national education diploma, bachelor, masters, specialist and doctoral degrees held by college both academy, high school and university. College are obliged to provide education, research and community service. One element in the administration of higher education are the lecturer. Lecturers are academic personnel responsible for planning and executing the learning process, assess learning outcomes, conduct coaching and training, and conduct research and community service. Based on the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 14 Year 2005 on Teachers and Lecturers, Article 51 Paragraph (1) Item b, the professor is entitled to promotions and awards in accordance with academic performance. This study used the ANP method (Analytical Network Process). By using Superdecision software. Abstract

Highlights: • Customers expectations at Dr. Soetomo General Academic Hospital has a higher quality of service. • The handling of complaints has a low performance on the quality of services at Dr. Soetomo General Academic Hospital. • Improving service quality requires improvements in efficient complaint handling. Abstract: Service quality is essential in health institutions that can affect patient satisfaction and loyalty. The growth in the number of patients at Dr. Soetomo General Academic Hospital, Surabaya, Indonesia, triggered the diversification of services that require periodic quality control. This study aimed to investigate the performance of 31 departments/units in the hospital, the level of customer satisfaction with services provided, and factors that could influence satisfaction. A survey about service performance, perception, and expectation of services was carried out in 31 departments/units using questionnaires from August to October 2021. Convenient respondents consisted of 2121 patients and their families aged >15. Questionnaire items assessed performance, perceptions, and expectations of health services using the SERVQUAL method. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software was used to perform an analysis of the results of the measurement and the difference in responses between demographic groups of respondents (p<0.05 was significant). The mean performance score was 92.86, and the gap between their perception and expectation averaged -0.23. Customers' expectations of the provider's competence were met, and its performance was perceived to be the best. Meanwhile, handling complaints was perceived as having the lowest performance, while customers' satisfaction over it had not been met. The results showed that the hospital could still not fully meet some of the customer expectations, with immediate improvements needed in handling complaints.

Abstract

Highlight: • Dermoscopy is a practical, non-invasive and accurate method for reducing the number of unnecessary excision of benign skin neoplasms. • Knowledge about vascular pattern and description setting can lead to a prompt benign skin neoplasm diagnosis. Abstract: Benign skin neoplasms are commonly found in the population. It has a well-differentiated and slow growth nature. The patients often come seeking treatment when the tumor has developed into malignancy. This usual delay in diagnosis and therapy frequently happens because early-stage mass has not generated any complaints by the patients. Detection and monitoring of benign skin neoplasms can be carried out earlier and more effectively if the clinician or dermatologist has the knowledge of distinguishing benign from malignant lesions. The histopathological examination can help to establish the diagnosis, but this method is invasive and requires an extended amount of time. Dermoscopy is a practical, non-invasive and accurate method for early detection of skin disorder which reduces the number of unnecessary excisions of benign skin neoplasms. Knowledge of the vascular pattern and arrangement description, combined with the additional dermoscopic feature can lead to the prompt diagnosis of benign skin neoplasms.

Highlights: • The importance of having a strong suspicion for syphilis and maintaining close contact between dermatologists and pathologists cannot be understated. • Understanding the clinical relationship and histopathological features of syphilis is crucial for accurate diagnosis and distinction from its histopathologic mimickers. Abstract: Settings Syphilis, also known as "the great imitator," is a sexually transmitted infection with a variety of clinical symptoms and histopathological similarities to other infectious diseases. Public health concerns about syphilis have grown significantly. Since 2000, there has been an increase in syphilis prevalence in the United States, with a 17.6% increase from 2015 to 2016. From 2000 to 2019, the number of syphilis cases throughout Asia increased from 0.9% to 30.9%, whilst the number of cases in Indonesia decreased from 22.5% to 14.4%. Specific serological tests for syphilis can usually detect and confirm the diagnosis and offer follow-up care in most cases. However, in certain instances, the clinical characteristics discovered during testing can be identical to those of other diseases, which may lead to inconsistent diagnosis. Considering that the diagnostic pathology is pertinent to the clinical circumstances, a histopathological investigation may be useful for differentiating syphilis mimickers. Pathology is essential for identifying potential syphilis patients with ambiguous clinical symptoms. This study's purpose was to assist dermatologists and pathologists in identifying "mimickers" that require a biopsy and in determining the correct diagnosis and treatment coutsed based on etiology.

Abstract

Character education at the elementary school level plays a strategic role in shaping students’ moral awareness and attitudes, particularly the value of responsibility as a foundation of ethical behavior in Islam. However, empirical studies examining how the value of responsibility is represented in Islamic Religious Education textbooks remain limited. This study aims to systematically analyze the representation and alignment of responsibility values in elementary school Islamic Religious Education textbooks. Employing a qualitative approach with a content analysis design, this study examines textbooks for Grades 1, 2, and 3 used in the national curriculum. Data were analyzed through coding and categorization of responsibility values into personal, social, and ecological dimensions. The findings reveal that responsibility values are predominantly represented through personal and social dimensions, particularly in the form of habituation of religious practices, discipline, cleanliness, care for others, and role modeling of Islamic figures, while the ecological dimension of responsibility remains limited and unevenly distributed across grade levels. These findings indicate that textbooks function as important instruments for character formation but require stronger reflective approaches and a more balanced integration of responsibility dimensions. The implications of this study are relevant for curriculum development, textbook writing, and instructional practices in Islamic Religious Education that are more holistic and contextual.

Abstract

Visi dan misi sekolah merupakan komponen fundamental dalam manajemen strategik pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi kepala sekolah dalam penyusunan visi dan misi di SMK Negeri 2 Pelaihari serta kontribusinya terhadap peningkatan kualitas pendidikan vokasi. SMK diharapkan mampu menghasilkan lulusan yang kompeten, berakhlak mulia, dan relevan dengan kebutuhan Industri, Dunia Usaha dan Dunia Kerja (IDUKA). Oleh karena itu, kepemimpinan strategis yang visioner, partisipatif, dan berbasis data sangat diperlukan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang dirancang dengan desain studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara semi-terstruktur, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi yang melibatkan kepala sekolah, tim manajemen sebagai tim pengembang sekolah, dan guru. Keabsahan data dijaga melalui triangulasi sumber dan teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi kepala sekolah dalam penyusunan visi dan misi dilakukan melalui analisis berbasis data mengenai kondisi sekolah, pembentukan Tim Pengembangan Sekolah, serta keterlibatan aktif berbagai pemangku kepentingan internal dan eksternal seperti guru, komite sekolah, orang tua, dan mitra IDUKA. Proses formulasi dilakukan secara partisipatif melalui rapat dan diskusi kelompok terfokus, kemudian disosialisasikan secara intensif melalui media cetak, media sosial, dan kegiatan rutin sekolah. Strategi ini berdampak pada meningkatnya keterpaduan program sekolah, penguaan kerja sama industri, dan kejelasan arah pengembangan sekolah. Penelitian  ini juga menegaskan bahwa kepemimpinan kepala sekolah yang kolaboratif dan berbasis manajemen strategis mampu menghasilkan visi dan misi yang kontekstual serta implementatif, yang berkontribusi secara signifikan dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan vokasi. The Principal's Strategy in Developing a Vision and Mission at State Vocational High School (SMK) 2 Pelaihari Abstract The school’s vision and mission are fundamental components of strategic management in education. This study aims to analyze the principal’s strategies in formulating the vision and mission at SMK Negeri 2 Pelaihari and their contribution to improving the quality of vocational education. Vocational high schools are expected to produce graduates who are competent, possess good moral character, and are relevant to the needs of industry, business, and the world of work (IDUKA). Therefore, visionary, participatory, and data-driven strategic leadership is essential.This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis involving the principal, the management team as the school development team, and teachers. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The findings indicate that the principal’s strategy in formulating the school’s vision and mission was carried out through data-based analysis of school conditions, the establishment of a School Development Team, and the active involvement of internal and external stakeholders, including teachers, the school committee, parents, and IDUKA partners. The formulation process was conducted participatively through meetings and focus group discussions, followed by intensive socialization via printed media, social media, and routine school activities. These strategies resulted in improved integration of school programs, strengthened industry partnerships, and clearer directions for school development. This study also confirms that collaborative and strategic management–based principal leadership is capable of producing contextual and implementable vision and mission statements, which significantly contribute to enhancing the quality of vocational education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of social media use on the mindset formation of Generation Z students at SMKN 2 Pelaihari from the perspective of the foundations of educational sociology. This study is motivated by the phenomenon of massive digitalization, which has positioned social media as a dominant agent of socialization, thus triggering a shift in students' values ??and critical thinking skills amidst an instant culture. Using a descriptive quantitative method, data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire from 90 respondents selected through proportional random sampling. The instrument test results showed very good validity with an average score of 3.72. Empirical findings revealed that the intensity of students' social media use is high, with the majority of respondents (42.6%) accessing digital platforms for more than 8 hours per day. Specifically, the critical thinking indicators for the aspects of social problem analysis and information evaluation reached the high category with average scores of 3.89 and 3.76, respectively. However, the aspect of social impact reflection remained in the medium category with an average score of 3.41. The main conclusion of the study confirms that social media significantly shapes new habitus for students, so strengthening sociology education is crucial to bridge the gap between digital information analysis skills and reflective social value awareness. Studi ini dilatarbelakangi oleh fenomena masifnya digitalisasi yang menempatkan media sosial sebagai agen sosialisasi dominan, sehingga memicu pergeseran nilai dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa di tengah budaya instan. Menggunakan metode kuantitatif deskriptif, data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner berskala Likert dari 90 responden yang dipilih melalui teknik proportional random sampling. Hasil uji instrumen menunjukkan validitas sangat baik dengan skor rata-rata 3,72. Temuan empiris mengungkapkan bahwa intensitas penggunaan media sosial siswa tergolong tinggi, di mana mayoritas responden (42,6%) mengakses platform digital lebih dari 8 jam per hari. Secara spesifik, indikator pola pikir kritis pada aspek analisis masalah sosial dan evaluasi informasi mencapai kategori tinggi dengan nilai rata-rata masing-masing 3,89 dan 3,76, namun aspek refleksi dampak sosial masih berada pada kategori sedang dengan rata-rata 3,41. Simpulan utama penelitian menegaskan bahwa media sosial secara signifikan membentuk habitus baru bagi siswa, sehingga penguatan pendidikan sosiologi sangat krusial untuk menjembatani kesenjangan antara kemampuan analisis informasi digital dengan kesadaran nilai sosial yang reflektif.

Abstract

Pusat Kegiatan Belajar Masyarakat (PKBM) memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung pendidikan nonformal, khususnya dalam meningkatkan keterampilan dan literasi digital peserta didik. Namun, pemanfaatan teknologi sebagai media pembelajaran kreatif di lingkungan PKBM masih belum optimal. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan wawasan dan keterampilan siswa serta guru PKBM Bina Insan Mandiri dalam pembuatan animasi pembelajaran menggunakan Microsoft PowerPoint. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan secara luring (offline) pada Sabtu, 20 September 2025, dengan metode pelatihan berbasis praktik langsung yang meliputi penyampaian materi, praktik pembuatan animasi, serta pendampingan peserta. Peserta kegiatan berjumlah 23 orang yang terdiri dari siswa dan guru PKBM. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner untuk mengukur persepsi peserta terhadap pelaksanaan kegiatan, hasil pelatihan, tingkat kepuasan, serta minat untuk mengikuti kegiatan serupa di masa mendatang. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh indikator penilaian memperoleh skor rata-rata pada kategori sangat baik, yang menandakan tingginya tingkat kepuasan dan respon positif peserta. Pelatihan ini terbukti mampu meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam memanfaatkan fitur animasi Microsoft PowerPoint sebagai media pembelajaran yang kreatif dan interaktif. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini dinilai efektif, relevan dengan kebutuhan mitra, serta berpotensi untuk dikembangkan dan direplikasi pada lembaga pendidikan nonformal lainnya.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: The purpose of this study is to experimentally analyze the effect of temperature on the internal resistance of rectifier, avalanche, and Zener diodes by measuring their current–voltage characteristics across different operating temperatures. Methodology: This study employed an experimental method using two digital multimeters (Sanwa CD800a), a K-type thermocouple (Omega), a DC power supply (GW Instek GPS-3030), an aluminum container, and an electric heater. Data were recorded manually and analyzed using Microsoft Excel for I–V plotting and temperature coefficient calculations. Main Findings: The rectifier, avalanche, and Zener diodes exhibited distinct I–V characteristics and temperature-dependent behavior. Maximum forward currents were 264.8 mA (rectifier), 299.4 mA (avalanche), and 37.25 mA (Zener). Temperature coefficients showed negative values for avalanche diodes and positive values for Zener diodes. Internal resistance increased with temperature for all diodes, with rectifier Rd ranging from 0.185 Ω to 0.2 Ω, avalanche Rd from 0.233 Ω to 0.25 Ω, and Zener Rd from 0.1 Ω to 0.125 Ω. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study presents a novel experimental comparison of rectifier, avalanche, and Zener diodes by simultaneously evaluating internal resistance and temperature resistivity coefficients under identical thermal conditions. The results provide new empirical insights into diode-specific thermal behavior, advancing current knowledge on temperature-sensitive performance in practical electronic applications.

Abstract

Wanita Usia Subur (WUS) memiliki peran penting dalam perencanaan keluarga dan pencapaian Generasi Emas Indonesia. Namun, keterbatasan pengetahuan mengenai metode kontrasepsi masih menjadi salah satu faktor rendahnya pemanfaatan kontrasepsi yang tepat. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan WUS tentang kesehatan reproduksi melalui edukasi pengenalan metode kontrasepsi. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi penyuluhan menggunakan media leaflet, diskusi interaktif, serta evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test. Peserta berjumlah 30 WUS yang mengikuti kegiatan di PMB Novi Herawati. Hasil pre-test menunjukkan sebagian besar peserta memiliki tingkat pengetahuan kurang (48%) dengan rata-rata skor 59,2. Setelah edukasi, hasil post-test menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dengan 78% peserta berada pada kategori pengetahuan baik dan rata-rata skor meningkat menjadi 83,1. Kegiatan ini terbukti efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan WUS mengenai pengertian, jenis, manfaat, dan pemilihan metode kontrasepsi. Edukasi kesehatan reproduksi melalui media sederhana dan komunikatif dapat menjadi strategi promotif-preventif yang efektif dalam mendukung perencanaan keluarga dan pencapaian Generasi Emas Indonesia.
