Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the impact of education decentralization through the local curriculum in improving senior secondary school students' vocational and economic skills. This research uses a mixed methods approach with a sequential exploratory design. This design applied a qualitative approach followed by a quantitative approach. Data collection with the qualitative approach used in-depth interviews, while the quantitative approach used questionnaires and documentation of practical exam results. The participants in the qualitative approach were the vice principal and the traditional cookery subject teacher. The sample in the quantitative approach was students who took traditional cookery subjects. Qualitative data analysis used the Miles and Huberman formula, namely data display, data reduction, and conclusions, while quantitative data analysis used descriptive quantitative and MANOVA. The results showed that the impact of decentralization through the local content curriculum on improving students' vocational and economic skills was in the "good" category. The impact of decentralizing education through the local curriculum can reduce the dropout rate of poor students. MANOVA results showed no difference in the impact of the local curriculum on vocational skills across the six schools. However, there is a significant difference in the impact of the local curriculum on students' economic improvement in the six schools.

Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on the learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in Natural Sciences and Social Sciences (IPAS) at elementary schools. The study involved 23 fourth-grade students from Sompokan Primary School. This research utilized a one-group pretest-posttest design. Student learning outcomes were obtained through pretest and posttest exams consisting of 20 short-answer questions. The pretest results showed an average score of 56.43 with a standard deviation of 12.251, while the posttest results showed improvement with an average score of 83.70 and a standard deviation of 6.071. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test indicated that both pretest and posttest data followed a normal distribution, with significance values of 0.200 and 0.120, respectively. The correlation between pretest and posttest scores was 0.683, statistically significant (p < 0.001). Paired samples t-test showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (t = -14.156, p = 0.000). These findings suggest that the use of E-LKPD based on PBL positively influences the improvement of student learning outcomes in IPAS for fourth-grade elementary school students. This method enhances interactivity and student engagement in learning, facilitating deeper understanding and critical thinking skills. Thus, E-LKPD based on PBL can be an effective strategy to enhance the quality of elementary education.

Abstract

The Siulak Deras Irrigation canal network is the main source of water distribution in several areas. The Siulak Deras Irrigation Area in Kerinci Regency was built in 1993 with water flow regulation and complete Siulak Deras Irrigation network facilities including the Technical irrigation group. As time goes by, the service function of the irrigation network experiences a decline in performance, so that operation and maintenance of the irrigation network is an activity that is really needed to make the irrigation network remain optimal and maintain its performance. In this regard, an assessment of the Performance Index of the irrigation system in the Siulak Deras Irrigation Area needs to be carried out to determine the value of aspects or components that are not yet optimal in this irrigation area so that special treatment can be immediately carried out or improved. The assessment is carried out by starting an inventory of the condition and function of the physical infrastructure of the irrigation network, planting productivity results, supporting facilities, organization, documentation and institutional P3A to determine the performance value and recommendations for handling it. The results of the irrigation network system performance index in the Siulak Deras irrigation area for the Left Irrigation Channel section are 69.59%, which means that the irrigation system performance is close to good performance, namely 70%, but still needs to be improved and needs attention. With a physical infrastructure value of 29.32%, planting productivity 14.21%, supporting facilities 6.15%, personnel organization 10.94%, documentation 2.46%, and P3A institutions 6.50%. Based on the performance index value obtained, and the total performance score in the form of a percentage, it is necessary to specifically maintain and repair physical facilities and infrastructure at several points that are damaged, facilitate supporting facilities for OP officers so that officers can act quickly and precisely in carrying out activities, and paying more attention to P3A so that it can always contribute to maintaining and utilizing the Siulak Deras irrigation network properly and optimally in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the results of KMO MSA analysis, Eigen Value, reliability, and Standard Error Measurement (SEm) between raw scores (original) and standardized scores (rescaling) through the summated rating scaling method on critical reasoning attitudes of vocational students in Yogyakarta City. This study used a quantitative descriptive approach involving 204 private vocational students as subjects. The instrument used to measure critical reasoning attitudes has gone through thorough validity and reliability testing before the research was carried out. The analysis process was carried out by calculating the KMO MSA, Eigen Value, reliability, and SEm values on both raw and standardized scores. The results of the two types of scores were then compared to identify any differences. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that the raw score had a KMO MSA of 0.87, reliability of 0.823, and SEm of 0.337. After rescaling, the KMO MSA value decreased slightly to 0.86, the reliability also decreased slightly to 0.821, while the SEm increased to 0.406. Eigenvalue analysis showed that both the raw and standardized scores yielded seven factors with Eigenvalues greater than 1. The differences found between these two types of scores, namely 0.01 for KMO MSA, 0.002 for reliability, and -0.069 for SEm, indicate small but significant changes, especially in terms of the increase in SEm after rescaling, which impacts the level of measurement accuracy.

Abstract

The portable rumpon is a movable fish aggregating device that consists of a float and attractor, without anywood or permanent structures on it. This portable rumpon is commonly used in waters with moderate currents. It isusually equipped with sonar to determine the abundance of fish congregating in the area. Modifications to the shapeof the portable rumpon and the engineering addition of acoustic sensors are expected to increase the catch of fish, allowing them to gather around it. The acoustic sensors used have a frequency range of 10,000-15,000 Hz, which is asound wave favored by fish. The generated sound waves are anticipated to enhance the catch results, as indicated bythe number of fish that gather around the rumpon. The operation of the portable rumpon can be conducted alongsidefishing gear to achieve optimal results.

Abstract

Waste is a form of inefficiency and waste that arises from waiting time, materials, Human Resources, construction implementation, management, design and documentation, and external factors. This research aims to determine the factors causing high material waste in road improvement projects in Musi Banyuasin by taking samples at the construction project site. In analyzing the factors that cause material waste, there are several ways to find out, namely the data collection method in this research uses a questionnaire, while the analysis method uses the Descriptive Mean and the Borda method. This research shows that the waste that most often occurs in road improvement projects is external. Meanwhile, the waste variable that has the biggest impact on the project is soil type with a score of 510 using the Borda method calculation and 3.59 using the mean calculation.

Abstract

The United Nations has proclaimed the world's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the Paris Agreement, and Indonesia has a net zero emissions target by 2060. One of the efforts to support this commitment is by applying environmentally friendly fishing vessel technology using sail and electric propulsion. However, to convince the application, it is necessary to consider several aspects, especially the economic aspect of business investment. This study aims to calculate the estimated cost of boatbuilding and fishing operations for 10 days in the Java Sea using the development of electric sailboat design. The payback period of a feasible investment is then calculated by comparing the revenue from Blue Swimming Crab (BSC) fishing activities. Based on the result, recognizing that with an investment value of nearly 400 thousand USD to purchase the boat, it is reasonable to set a minimum goal of capturing at least 1,2 Ton of crabs per trip, and a minimum of 20 trips annually, thus the payback period takes 10 years. Keywords: Blue swimming crab, Fishing vessel, Java Sea, Net zero emission, Payback period.
