Abstract

This study examines the pragmatism of power in teacher-student interaction in Indonesian language learning. The main issue raised is how the power applied in this interaction affects the teaching and learning process and how aspects of pragmatism play a role in shaping the dynamics of power. This study aims to identify the forms of power that appear in teacher-student interaction and how they affect Indonesian language learning effectiveness. The method used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach, where data is obtained through observation, interviews, and document analysis from several Indonesian classes in high schools. The collected data was analysed with a pragmatic approach to reveal the role of power in these interactions. The study results show that power in teacher-student interaction significantly affects the learning atmosphere, both positively and negatively, depending on how teachers use it in the learning process. The conclusion of this study emphasises the importance of awareness of the power dynamics that occur in learning to create a more inclusive and effective educational climate.

Abstract

In today's digital age, computational thinking (CT) skills are essential, especially in education. Challenges arise in teaching CT to elementary school students, who often have difficulty in understanding computer logic and computer-based problem-solving approaches. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Scratch-based learning in improving 6th grade students' CT skills at Al Abidin ICT Elementary School. The research method used was quasi-experimental with experimental and control groups, where the experimental group received AI and Scratch learning interventions. Data were collected through pretest and posttest, and analyzed using SPSS. The results showed a significant improvement in CT skills in the experimental group, with statistical analysis results supporting the significant effect of AI learning. Students' responses to the learning platform www.aikids.id were also mostly positive. These results confirm that AI learning can be an effective approach to developing CT at the primary school level, with an impact not only on CT ability but also students' motivation and engagement in learning.

Abstract

One of the key indicators for assessing the quality of higher education is the career success of its graduates. However, not all graduates succeed in securing employment in fields relevant to their area of study. This study aims to analyze the influence of academic and non-academic factors on career alignment and to develop a predictive model using machine learning algorithms. The data used in this study were obtained from an alumni tracer study and student academic records at Universitas Muria Kudus (UMK), comprising a total of 311 records after data transformation. The predictor variables include Grade Point Average (GPA), length of study, teamwork skills, and scholarship participation, with a single target variable representing career alignment. Three classification algorithms were applied: Decision Tree, Random Forest, and Support Vector Machine (SVM). The results show that teamwork skills and scholarship participation have a moderate positive correlation with career alignment, while length of study has a negative correlation, and GPA has a very weak positive correlation. Random Forest demonstrated the best performance with an AUC score of 0.86 and a Cohen’s Kappa score of 0.62, indicating good and stable classification quality. The findings from the variable analysis and classification model can be utilized in developing a career alignment prediction system and as a basis for decision-making in strategies to improve graduate quality in line with labor market needs.

Abstract

Imagery training is rarely used by coaches to improve the quality of passing techniques in soccer. This study aims for soccer coaches or athletes to apply imagery training to achieve maximum performance.The research method in this study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research method. The population in this study were all SSB Bintang Kalinegoro athletes totaling 60. The sample used was 24 athletes. Data collection used a grid concentration test and a passing test. Quantitative data analysis consisted of a normality test, a homogeneity test, and a hypothesis test.The results showed cognitive specific sig p of 0.001, motivational general mastery sig p of 0.010, high concentration sig p of 0.008, low concentration sig p of 0.001, the interaction of imagery and concentration on passing results obtained sig p of 0.001 which means that all of them have interactions.Conclusion: There is an influence of cognitive specific, motivational general mastery, high concentration, and low concentration training methods on the passing training results of Bintang Kalinegoro soccer school players. The Cognitive Specific training method is better applied to high concentration groups, while the Motivational general mastery training method is better applied to low concentration groups.

Abstract

Medical image analysis is essential for detecting retinoblastoma tumors due to the ability of this method to assist doctors in examining the morphology, density, and distribution of blood vessels. The classification of normal and retinoblastoma-affected retinas is a preliminary step in treating retinoblastoma tumors. Therefore, this study aimed to propose a new method for classifying normal and retinoblastoma-affected retinas using geometric feature extraction and machine learning. The workflow consisted of (1) fundus image data collection for retinoblastomas, (2) image segmentation, (3) feature extraction process, (4) building a classification model using machine learning, (5) splitting testing and training data, (6) classification process using machine learning methods, and (7) evaluation of classification results using a confusion matrix. The results showed that the segmentation method could detect retinoblastoma areas and extract their geometric features. The SVM method achieved an accuracy of 0.96 while the RF and DT had 0.55 and 0.63, respectively. Moreover, a comparison with previous research showed that the proposed method achieved a 4% improvement in the classification performance. This led to the conclusion that classification using geometric features combined with the SVM on digital fundus images of retinoblastoma eye disease produced the best results.

Abstract

Abstract:  Ngrombo Village, located in Baki District, Sukoharjo Regency, is a prominent guitar craftsmanship center in Indonesia. However, local artisans face significant challenges in product marketing due to limited digital literacy and inadequate adoption of digital marketing strategies. This program aimed to enhance the digital marketing skills of guitar artisans through training and mentorship in digital marketing strategies and content creation. The one-month program involved 50 artisans and employed methods such as lectures, workshops, and hands-on practice. The digital marketing training, led by industry experts, focused on social media optimization and e-commerce utilization. Additionally, a follow-up content creation workshop was conducted to improve product photography and copywriting skills. Evaluation results indicated that 80% of participants improved their understanding of digital marketing, 65% optimized their social media presence, and customer engagement increased by 50%. Challenges included maintaining consistency in business account management and limited access to paid advertising. Long-term solutions require continuous mentorship and the development of data-driven marketing strategies.Abstrak: Desa Ngrombo, Kecamatan Baki, Kabupaten Sukoharjo, merupakan salah satu sentra kerajinan gitar terkemuka di Indonesia. Namun, para pengrajin menghadapi tantangan besar dalam pemasaran produk akibat keterbatasan literasi digital dan minimnya pemanfaatan strategi digital marketing. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan pemasaran digital bagi pengrajin gitar melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam strategi digital marketing serta pembuatan konten pemasaran. Kegiatan dilaksanakan selama satu bulan dan diikuti oleh 50 pengrajin gitar, dengan metode penyuluhan, workshop, serta praktik langsung. Pelatihan digital marketing menghadirkan pakar di bidangnya dan berfokus pada optimasi media sosial serta pemanfaatan platform e-commerce. Sebagai tindak lanjut, pelatihan pembuatan konten pemasaran dilakukan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dalam fotografi produk. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa 80% peserta mengalami peningkatan pemahaman digital marketing, 65% mulai mengoptimalkan media sosial mereka, dan terjadi peningkatan interaksi pelanggan hingga 50%. Kendala yang dihadapi meliputi konsistensi dalam pengelolaan akun bisnis serta keterbatasan dalam penggunaan iklan berbayar. Untuk solusi jangka panjang, diperlukan program pendampingan berkelanjutan dan pengembangan strategi pemasaran berbasis data.

Abstract

Background: Scoliosis is a structural spinal deformity marked by an abnormal sideways curvature and a loss of the spine's natural front-to-back alignment, resulting in postural imbalances. This study investigates how physiotherapy interventions improve posture in individuals with scoliosis. Methods: This qualitative descriptive-analytic case study utilized physiotherapy interventions such as stretching exercises, Pilates, core stability training, myofascial release, and manipulation therapy. Outcome measures included a scoliometer (spinal curvature), goniometer (lumbar range of motion), McGill's Torso Muscular Endurance Test Battery (core endurance), volumetric exerciser (lung capacity), measuring tape (limb length), Clarke's angle method (foot arch assessment), and Zebris FDM (body force pressure and center of pressure movement during stance). Results: Physiotherapy improved postural alignment, reducing spinal curvature from 9 degrees to 3 degrees and increasing lumbar flexion from 61 degrees to 75 degrees. Core endurance increased, as evidenced by a 1.06-second improvement in the flexion-extension ratio and a 0.90-second bilateral increase in side-bridge endurance. Limb length discrepancy decreased from 2.5 cm to 0.5 cm, enhancing symmetry in both true and apparent lengths. Foot arch asymmetry also improved, with the right arch increasing from 45 degrees to 46 degrees and the left from 39.7 degrees to 42.5 degrees. Conversely, lung capacity declined from 1363 mL to 1238 mL. Force pressure distribution became more asymmetrical in most cases, particularly affecting the longer limb in individuals with scoliosis, and center of pressure movement increased from 51.5 mm to 76.5 mm, indicating altered balance and postural control. Conclusion: Over two months, physiotherapy effectively improved postural alignment and musculoskeletal function in individuals with scoliosis.

Abstract

The increasing reliance on smartphones has created a demand for efficient repair services. However, many repair businesses still rely on manual processes, causing delays, inefficiencies, and poor customer experiences. This study develops a web-based smartphone repair service system to enhance efficiency, transparency, and customer satisfaction. The system automates repair scheduling, real-time tracking, and customer notifications, minimizing manual intervention. A quantitative research approach was used, collecting data through surveys and system evaluations. Findings show that the system reduces service delays by 35% and improves response time by 42% compared to manual processes. Real-time updates and automated notifications also enhance customer engagement and service transparency. This research contributes to service industries by demonstrating the impact of digital transformation on operational efficiency and customer experience. The results apply not only to smartphone repair services but also to electronics repair, automotive maintenance, and similar sectors requiring efficient service management. These findings offer insights for optimizing digital service frameworks, with potential for further innovation through Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration and blockchain technology for secure service tracking and enhanced transparency.

Abstract

Sistem seleksi peserta pelatihan di UPTD Balai Latihan Kerja (BLK) Kabupaten Kudus masih menghadapi kendala dalam hal efisiensi, transparansi, dan akurasi proses seleksi. Permasalahan yang timbul meliputi proses evaluasi yang masih dilakukan secara manual, waktu seleksi yang terbatas, serta belum tersedianya sistem terintegrasi dalam pengambilan keputusan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun sistem seleksi berbasis web dengan metode Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) dan kombinasi Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP SAW) guna meningkatkan objektivitas dan ketepatan dalam seleksi peserta. Sistem ini mendukung pemeringkatan peserta berdasarkan beberapa kriteria berbobot seperti hasil tes pengetahuan, wawancara, usia, dan status pekerjaan. Selain itu, sistem menerapkan filter administratif untuk menyaring peserta yang tidak memenuhi persyaratan awal, serta mengintegrasikan fitur notifikasi email otomatis untuk menyampaikan informasi terkait hasil seleksi administratif, jadwal dan hasil seleksi. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu meningkatkan efisiensi pelaksanaan seleksi, mengurangi kesalahan dalam pengambilan keputusan, dan memperkuat transparansi melalui pemrosesan data yang terstruktur dan terkomputerisasi. Perbandingan metode menunjukkan bahwa AHP SAW menghasilkan pemeringkatan yang lebih objektif dibandingkan SAW biasa karena mempertimbangkan prioritas antar kriteria secara sistematis.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the learning of fantasy story texts for class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Tambakboyo, (2) describe the learning outcomes of students of SMP Negeri 1 Tambakboyo through the structure and elements of fantasy story texts. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with case study method. The source of the data in this study was fantasy story text written by Indonesian language students and teachers in class VII-F and VII-G of SMP Negeri 1 Tambakboyo. Data collection carried out in this study, namely direct observation, interviews, and data analysis. The results of the research show the following things. First, Tambakboyo 1 Public Middle School students are able to understand fantasy story text material through an integrative learning model. Second, Tambakboyo 1 Public Middle School students are able to understand the structure of fantasy story texts well, namely by mentioning the orientation, complications, and resolution in their writing. Third, in their writing the Tambakboyo 1 Public Middle School students have fulfilled the elements of fantasy story text based on expert opinion, namely by mentioning the theme, plot, characters and characterizations, setting, point of view, and message.
