Abstract

Recently, Indonesia has experienced changes in the school curriculum to be more in line with the development of globalization. The 2013 curriculum changed into the "Merdeka" curriculum in 2021. However, as the curriculum changes, there is still very little research on the relation of the new curriculum with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the learning approach to achieve these goals such as STEM learning. The method used in this research is content analysis. From the results, it appears that the engineering side of the new curriculum is more visible through kata kuncis in learning outcomes such as observing, questioning, predicting, planning, conducting investigations, processing, analyzing data, informing, reflecting, and communicating results. However, the relation new curriculum is still relatively low on the SDGs issue, which can be seen in several material aspects such as efforts to prevent and overcome pollution, climate change, and environmental conservation. Therefore, STEM SDGs learning must be further improved in order to prepare students for the future life.

Abstract

The poor condition of the ability to think critically in students is a concern of the education system for the success of twenty-first-century learning. The combination of the model with the right method during the learning practice is certainly needed in training the ability to think critically. Therefore, to find out the increase in the ability to think critically of students at MAN 1 Samarinda, research was carried out by applying guided inquiry combined with a flipped classroom. The research design is a pretest-posttest match control group research design, because it is a quasi-experimental research type. The research sample consisted of the class receiving treatment and the class not receiving treatment which was determined through sampling using the purposive sampling technique. Measuring students' critical considerations through giving tests in the form of essay questions related to momentum and impulse material. The Mann-Whitney test explained that the class that received treatment experienced a significant increase in the ability to think critically after the guided inquiry learning model was applied combined with the flipped classroom method

Abstract

Penerapan pendekatan saintifik melalui metode eksperimen merupakan pendekatan pembelajaran yang menggunakan enam langkah pembelajaran ilmiah dipadukan dengan menggunakan metode eksperimen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterampilan proses sains (KPS) siswa pada saat menerapkan pendekatan saintifik melalui metode eksperimen, dan untuk mengetahui hasil belajar Fisika siswa setelah diterapkan pendekatan saintifik melalui metode eksperimen. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian yang bersifat pre-eksperimental one group pretest-posttest design. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling yaitu kelas X MIA 3 sebanyak 33 orang. Pengambilan data penelitian ini menggunakan teknik observasi dan teknik tes. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh besarnya nilai rata-rata pada masing-masing aspek KPS antara lain: (1) Aspek Mengamati sebesar 90,3; (2) Aspek menyusun hipotesis sebesar 82,7; (3) Aspek menjalankan percobaan (eksperimen) sebesar 86,9; (4) Aspek menyimpulkan sebesar 79,5; (5) Aspek mengkomunikasikan sebesar 82,1. Nilai rata-rata pre-test dan post-test masing-masing sebesar 50,3 dan 77,6 dengan nilai presentase N-Gain sebesar 54,9%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas model Discovery Learning berbantuan Mind mapping terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada materi impuls dan momentum. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif pre-experiment design dengan metode One Grup-Pretest-Posttest. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling, sampel yang sebanyak 57 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan ialah uji N-gain dan uji t berpasangan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan pada hasil belajar kognitif siswa antara setelah diterapkannya model Discovery Learning berbantuan Mind mapping dengan N-gain dalam kategori sedang sebanyak 34 siswa dengan persentase 59,65% dan kategori tinggi sebanyak 23 siswa dengan persentase 40,35%. Selain itu terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada hasil belajar kognitif siswa antara sebelum dan sesudah penerapan model Discovery Learning berbantuan Mind mapping nilai yang ditunjukan pada analisis uji-t dengan nilai signifikan 0,000<0,05. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data yang telah dilakukan maka model Discovery Learning berbantuan Mind mapping efektif terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif siswa.

Abstract

The relocation of the capital city of Indonesia needs the utmost support for its sustainability. This paper is an explorative study on the pro-environmental behavior (PEB) of students from the buffer cities closest to the new capital city. Data were collected using a questionnaire based on the two major environmental values and appreciation instruments. The questionnaire contained 21 items that measured PEB in relation to three aspects: preservation, utilization, and appreciation. Data were collected from 280 junior high school students who participated in an online questionnaire. The data analysis used descriptive statistics and correlations. Utilization was identified as having the highest score among the three aspects, indicating that most students in the buffer cities hold exploitative utilitarian preferences for nature. Interventional education programs are needed to reduce human over-exploitation of the environment and prevent further environmental degradation. The highest correlation was found between appreciation and preservation, which was significant and positive. Gender was not a variable that affected PEB. However, the location of the buffer cities was the factor that showed the most significant differences in the scores. Our results could provide relevant insights for the design of environmental education to support the sustainability of Indonesia’s new capital city.

Abstract

This research aims to design a worksheet using the Engineering Design Process (EDP) model to promote Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are appropriate for pre-service physics teachers. The specific objectives of this study are to describe the validity of the worksheet and explore the pre-service physics teacher's response to the worksheet. The research design is research and development (R&D) with a model of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE). The participants in this study were 45 pre-service science teachers. The research instruments are the worksheet validation sheet and the response questionnaire. The results show that the worksheet is categorized as very feasible. In addition, based on the pre-service physics teachers' responses, the worksheet is in a good category. It can be concluded that the developed worksheet using the EDP model is appropriate for learning.

Abstract

Air limpasan dalam dari lahan terbuka pada umumnya banyak mengandung sedimen yang dapat menyebabkan degradasi kualitas lingkungan. Lingkungan yang telah terdegradasi dapat terjadi banjir. Upaya untuk mengurangi degradasi kualitas lingkungan dalam kegiatan pembukaan tersebut, dibutuhkan kolam pengendapan yang dirancang untuk penangkap sedimen. Model kolam pengendapan yang direncanakan mengacu pada Baku Mutu Lingkungan (BML) yang telah ditetapkan dalam Peraturan Daerah Kalimantan Timur No. 02 Tahun 2011 tentang Pengelolaan Kualitas Air dan Pengendalian Pencemaran Air, dimana kandungan padatan tersuspensi (TSS) untuk kegiatan penambangan batas baku mutu adalah 200 mg/l. Curah hujan rencana daerah penelitian sebesar 19,90 mm/jam dihitung dengan metode Monobone. Hasil perhitungan Debit air limpasan dengan menggunakan data curah hujan harian Kecamatan Muara Badak maksimum diperoleh 29,97 m3/dt dan kapasitas kolam pengendapan sebesar 1.600 m2. Kecepatan pengendapan untuk sedimen berukuran pasir 0,03215 m/detik, debu 0,001 m/detik dan liat 0,0002 m/detik. Hasil hitungan kapasitas kolam pengendapan menunjukkan sudah layak secara teknis. Volume atau kapasitas kolam pengendapan (settling pond) berdasarkan hasil hitungan adalah 4.800,00 m3, dengan dimensi Kolam Kompartemen A = 3 meter x 80 meter x 8 meter, kompartemen B,C,D dan E = 3 meter x 40 meter x 6 meter. Jumlah Kolam kompartemen sebanyak 5 buah kolam kompartemen. Pemeliharaan Kolam pengendapan dilakukan selang waktu 41 hari. Air limpasan dari outlet kolam menuju sungai Bawang direncanakan berbentuk trapesium, yaitu saluran B4, B5, B6 dan menuju shortcut saluran C5 serta menuju sungai Bawang. Hasil perhitungan dimensi Saluran B4, B5 dan B6 adalah lebar atas (T) 2,35 m, lebar bawah (B) 0,53 m dan tinggi (h) 1,55 m. Seluruh air limpasan seluruhnya menuju saluran C5 (outfall) terus mengalir ke sungai Bawang dengan dimensi lebar atas (T) 21 m, lebar bawah (B) 3,02 m dan tinggi (h) 5 m. Perencanaan Saluran berbentuk trapesium (C5 saluran tanah) agar memudahkan pembersihan sedimen pada saluran tersebut.

Abstract

Validasi numerik terhadap sel surya homojunction berbasis a-Si:H hasil eksperimen secara fisis dianalisis menggunakan perangkat AFORS-HET (Automat FOR Simulation of HETerostructure) dengan meninjau pengaruh cacat dangling-bond (DB) pada lapisan (p)a-Si:H (Ntr) terhadap kinerja sel surya struktur TCO/(p)a-Si:H/(i)a-Si:H/(n)a-Si:H/Ag. Variasi Ntr diberikan sesuai dengan hasil eksperimen antara 5.0 x 1017–5.0 x1019 cm-3/eV yang dioperasikan pada ketebalan lapisan-p berbeda disertai dengan analisis diagram pita energi, kurva karakteristik J-V, profil medan listrik, dan konsentrasi pembawa muatan. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa sel surya bekerja secara optimum jika nilai parameter Ntr mampu dikontrol untuk nilai < 5.0 x 1018 cm-3/eV, dimana pada kondisi ini efisiensi yang bisa dicapai sekitar 7.68% (VOC = 947.2 mV, JSC = 10.84 mA/cm2; FF = 74.82%) pada ketebalan lapisan-p sekitar 10 nm.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the necessity of improving students' critical thinking skills in the era of Industry 4.0. We developed and implemented a problem-based learning model (PBL) assisted by animated video as a learning tool made by using Adobe After Effects to improve the critical thinking skills of high school students using Problem-Based Learning as the instructional model in static fluid learning. This study applied a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design with a quantitative approach and purposive sampling. This study's samples included students of Class XI MIPA 3 of one of the high schools in Samarinda. This study's instrument consisted of essay questions about static fluids in physics that contained six indicators of critical thinking abilities: (a) identifying problems, (b) giving arguments, (c) deductive reasoning, (d) inductive reasoning, (e) evaluating, and (f) problem-solving and decision making. The results show that it is feasible and effective to adapt animated videos as learning media for educational content to improve students' critical thinking skills. The most improved aspect was on the deductive reasoning with an average N-Gain score of 0.93 by a 78-point difference between the pretest and posttests, and the least improved aspect was on the inductive reasoning aspect with an average N-Gain score of 0.63 by the 38-point difference between the pretest and posttests and an Effect Size of 3.43 in the very large category. We conclude that improving students’ critical thinking skills using a problem-based learning model assisted by animated video in static fluid learning is effective.

Abstract

Salah satu upaya mengatasi permasalahan pencemaran lingkungan yang diakibatkan oleh limbah detergen adalah dengan pemanfaatan bahan alami sebagai pengganti surfaktan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan detergen berbahan aktif biosurfaktan daun kelor dengan metode Prinsip Rotary Evaporator Sederhana (PRES). Pemanfaatan daun kelor (Moringa olifera) dilakukan dengan mengekstraksi daun kelor menggunakan metode maserasi hingga menghasilkan biosurfaktan, yang kemudian diolah menjadi detergen cair. Untuk menguji sediaan biosurfaktan maupun detergen cair, dilakukan beberapa uji, yaitu organoleptik, pH, bobot jenis, stabilitas busa, daya detergensi, dan cemaran dari limbah detergen cair kemudian dibandingkan dengan detergen komersial. Hasil detergen cair menggunakan metode PRES menunjukkan mutu detergensi yang sebanding dengan detergen komersial, karena memiliki stabilitas busa mencapai 97%, dengan daya detergensi mencapai 80%, namun tingkat limbah cemaran yang tinggi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode PRES dapat menghasilkan detergen cair dengan stabilitas busa dan mutu detergen yang baik, namun memerlukan penelitian lebih lanjut untuk dapat meminimalkan tingkat cemaran limbah yang dihasilkan.
