INTERCULTURAL ENCOUNTER AND CHRISTIANITY TODAY Sugiharto, Bambang

Abstract

Intercultural encounter  is something inevitable and crucial today. Its significance for religions depends on how religions conceive of intercultural translatability  and the meaning of ‘the other’. Concerning the former, there are three possibilities : different cultures can be seen as radically untranslatable, mutually translatable in terms of universal economic medium, or  mutually translatable in terms of  universal doctrinal message. Each brings its own consequences.  Concerning the latter, the other may be viewed  as the outer-other or the inner-other of which both require some kind of self-relativization on the part of religion. If  Christianity is consistent with its ‘logic of love’, it would be governed by heteronomous reason in which the self lives from out of itself , whereas its dwelling place is not the privileged centre.

Abstract

For the Javanese the whole life is a manifestation of the Absolute. Therefore it is not possible to separate the sacred from the profane, neither morality from religiosity, nor epistemology from ethics.Knowledge, as the pursuit of the truth, is not viewed as in empiricaltradition in which the mind perceives objects out there through thecreation of representations of them by the nervous systems andregistered by the brain (Representationalism); neither as inCartesian intellectualism in which knowledge is founded onindubitable certainties (Foundationalism). It is, instead, a matter ofdoing and venturing (Laku) in which one is to go deeper: fromgross physical body, through subtle body, to the sublime soul. Thecentre of gravity of this pursuit is rasa ( inner feeling, ultimatesecret, the bearer of the divine life, the vehicle of life). Rasa is thequintessence of all the three parts of human structure : the head, the chest and the genital ( the scrotum).

Abstract

Abstract

Using artificial intelligence, physicists have condensed a daunting quantum problem that until recently required 100,000 equations into a task of as few as four equations - all without sacrificing accuracy. Artificial intelligence is becoming the most current achievement of the computing world. The human brain is to some extent represented and spliced with the ability to solve problems. The purpose of this study is to describe in detail how the power of artificial intelligence with its complex system can help the needs of digital technology in the banking sector. The research method used is the elaboration of great thoughts and facts about artificial intelligence. Scientific data is interpreted with analytical power that is as precise as possible, so as to produce a description that meets the logic of structured thinking. The data is taken from relevant and up-to-date literature, the work of scientists who have been disseminated in various weighty scientific publications at the world level. The results of the study found how artificial intelligence has folded the complexity of the problem into a simple solution. Artificial intelligence in the banking world becomes an instrument that integrates consumers, smartphones, databases, security systems, financial services authorities, agencies, law enforcement officers, and various derivative digital systems.

Abstract

It is a necessity that information technology with the power of digitalisation is experiencing accelerated development. Its application also penetrates into various fields. On the other hand, the potential of cash waqf in Indonesia is also very large. The purpose of this paper is to describe the potential of cash waqf developed through digital mechanisms, by utilizing computing technology. The institutionalization of the spirit of digital-based waqf is the focus of attention in this study. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a literature review approach. The data taken are secondary data derived from scientific journals, academic papers, books that are compatible with this study. Digital artifacts of digital waqf institution platforms are also a relevant and main source of study in this discourse. The study found that the development and transformation of digital cash waqf began in 2012 when the Indonesian Ulema Council issued a fatwa on cash waqf. The study also found that cash waqf began to grow in the community and was amplified by the presence of digital instruments in the implementation of cash waqf payments. Many waqf institutions build digital platforms through various applications, websites and other social media.

Abstract

Environmental issues from increasing non-organic waste, especially plastic and fabric scraps, have become serious in Sampali Village, Percut Sei Tuan District. Limited community knowledge, particularly among women, worsens the problem. To address this, the Green Craft Women program was developed as a community-based social entrepreneurship model empowering women to turn household waste into creative, eco-friendly crafts. The program integrates environmental preservation with economic empowerment through recycling training, small business management, digital marketing, and community branding. Implemented through observation, participatory training, and mentoring over three months, it involved 20 women from PKK and youth groups. Results showed improved waste management, entrepreneurial skills, and environmental awareness. Products such as recycled bags, wallets, and home decorations gained market appeal, supported by online promotion. This initiative fostered women’s independence, circular economy practices, and stronger community solidarity in environmental care.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Islamic financial technology (Islamic FinTech) in strengthening the resilience and ethical financing of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Employing a systematic literature review (SLR) of sixty-two academic and policy publications from 2015–2025, the research synthesizes key findings on how Sharia-based digital finance empowers MSMEs through inclusive, transparent, and sustainable mechanisms. The results show that Islamic FinTech enhances MSME resilience by facilitating access to Sharia-compliant financing, reducing transaction barriers, and promoting risk-sharing through mudharabah and musyarakah contracts. Furthermore, it integrates ethical values derived from maqāṣid al-sharīʿah, reinforcing justice, trust, and accountability in digital financial systems. The study also reveals that Islamic FinTech contributes to sustainable development by supporting gender inclusion, digital literacy, and environmentally responsible investment. Nevertheless, challenges remain in governance, financial literacy, and regulatory harmonization between Islamic law and technological innovation. The paper concludes that Islamic FinTech is not merely a digital intermediary but an ethical ecosystem that combines technology and faith to foster equitable, resilient, and sustainable economic growth. Future research should explore longitudinal case studies and cross-regional comparisons to assess the long-term social and financial impacts of Islamic FinTech in Muslim-majority economies.
