Background: The hamlets of Manggung, Kenteng and Buyutan are 3 sub-villages which part of Ngalang Village, Gedangsari. The three hamlets have different topography however they are having similar problems, namely human resources and infrastructure. Objective: To overcome this problem UAD Community Service Program carried out several activities with aimed improving the management of related hamlets. Method: Socialization, discussion, training, counseling and practice were used in each KKN activity. Then followed by a monitoring and evaluation. Result: This KKN activity run well with good community participation.

Ngalang Village is one of the cultural tourism villages in Gunungkidul. Along with the village development, the community must adjust to it—including the cleanliness of the environment. In addition to aesthetic reasons, keeping the environment clean will be useful for maintaining public health, such as preventing the breeding of dengue mosquitoes. A waste bank is a community-based waste management method. Until now, Padukuhan Sambeng did not have a waste bank. The technique used is to provide material through leaflets, lectures, and discussions using PowerPoint. The result of this community service is that it is known that the people in Padukuhan Sambeng have a desire to manage waste. This is the background of this community service so that people have knowledge about waste banks and can form waste banks in their environment in the future. However, it is still carried out conventionally due to limited knowledge and is unhealthy.

Tidak semua wilayah di Indonesia memiliki pemetaan masalah kesehatan di lingkupwilayahnya. Padahal hal itu penting untuk menentukan prioritas masalah yang harus ditangani. Community diagnosis merupakan teknik untuk menjaring masalah utamanya kesehatan. Hipertensi merupakan masalah yang umum dijumpai pada masyarakat Indonesia, bahkan cenderung diabaikan karena proses perkembangan penyakit yang tidak terlihat secara nyata. Tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah melakukan community diagnosis untuk melihat masalah prioritas di lokasi untuk selanjutnya dilakukan intervensi kepada masyarakat. Ditemukan bahwa hipertensi menjadi masalah utama. Peningkatan pengetahuan hipertensi dilakukan dengan pemasangan media edukasi berupa poster.

Dusun Jatikuning dan Soka merupakan suatu daerah di Ngoro-oro, Patuk, Gunungkidul. Daerah ini memiliki lahan pertanian yang luas namun mayoritas bersifat tadah hujan karena keterbatasan air. Di wilayah tersebut melimpah limbah-limbah pertanian saat musim panen seperti sekam padi. Kondisi perekonomian warga masyarakat yang di wilayah tersebut sangat tergantung pada musim panen yang tadah hujan tersebut, sehingga saat musim kemarau warga di wilayah mitra kesulitan mempertahankan stabilitas perekonomian keluarganya. Oleh sebab itu program ini bertujuan transfer teknologi hidroponik dan pengolahan sampah organik dengan tujuan untuk mendukung perekonomian keluarga.Metode yang digunakan dalam program ini adalah pendampingan masyarakat melalui penyuluhan dan pelatihan dalam pemanfaatan hidroponik dan pengelolaan sampah organikmelalui: sosialisasi program, penyuluhan dan praktek pembuatan media tanam hidroponik, penyuluhan dan praktek pembuatan pupuk organic, penyuluhan pembuatan briket bioarang dan monitoring dan evaluasi. Luaran dari program ini adalah:peningkatan pengetahuan dan, peningkatan ketrampilan mitra dalam pembuatan media tanam hidroponik dan pengolahan sampah organic melalui pemberdayaan masyarakat.

EMPLOYABILITY SKILL TOT FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS OF VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL. The issue of employability is a serious problem in Vocational High School today. The data show that the highest unemployment is dominated by graduate of Vocational High School. Vocational High School graduates who are not ready to work much become unemployed because they can not compete and get a job. In addition, when it was working will be difficult to carry out tasks in the work that eventually turned over. Teachers have difficulty in improving students' readiness because teachers do not have good employability skills so that teachers can not teach their students. TOT Employability is implemented with the aim to train students and teachers to become employability skill trainers. TOT Employability implementation method with lecture, game, role play and discussion methods. Participants in TOT Employability are students and teachers of SMK Negeri 1 Seyegan and SMK Negeri 1 Kalasan Sleman. The results of this program are students and teachers have good interpersonal communication skills, adaptability, cooperative ability, self-management ability, high entrepreneurship desire, independence, discipline, responsibility and motivation to learn high. Students and teachers who have good employability skills are expected to apply it to other students so as to have an impact on the overall employability capability.

HEALTH COUNSELING AND PROMOTION IN THE PREVENTION OF HYPERTENSION FOR THE COMMUNITY OF BINTARAN HAMLET, BANTUL, DIY. Hypertension is a condition of increased blood pressure in arteries that increase the cause of the heart to work more than usual to circulate blood through the blood vessels. Precautions if not properly treated will cause other diseases such as sroke. This dedication is carried out with active lectures and discussions with participants. From these activities it is known that people already know the hypertension and the way of prevention but difficult to realize in everyday life. So, in the future there should be a creative health promotion effort and target the right people/groups that can bring about change.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND WASTE MANAGEMENT TRAINING IN ARGOREJO VILLAGE, SEDAYU, BANTUL, YOGYAKARTA. Ministry of Environment noted that the average population of Indonesia produces around 2.5 liters of waste per day or 625 million liters of the total population. This condition will continue to grow according to the environment. According to the Indonesian Waste Statistics (2012) the amount of waste that appears throughout Indonesia reaches 38.5 million tons per year with the dominant waste being in Java (21.2 million tons per year). Waste generation will not decrease or run out and will even continue to grow along with the growth of human population and the higher and more complex human activities. The accumulation of waste that is getting bigger from day to day will reduce space and disrupt human activities so that the human goal to improve the quality of life actually makes the quality of life decrease due to waste generation problems.Method used is to provide counseling and training directly to the general public with material for entrepreneurship motivation and waste bank management using lecture, discussion, and question and answer methods. Results obtained were the extension activities and the training went well and the participants actively participated in the extension activities to completion. Counseling is done interactively between the speakers and the participants present.

Jurug Gede Waterfall is a new tourist destination in Gunungkidul due to accessibility and close access to other destinations. This location relies on a not permitted waterfall; consequently, in the dry season, the waterfall can not exist as a tourist view. In another side, in surrounding the waterfall, available a lot of natural resources such as bamboo and wood that can be used as an alternative to building something creative for the tourist destination. Along with the presence of Jurug Gede as a tourist destination, it is essential to equip the indigenous people with sufficient knowledge on health to prevent the negative impact of tourism development such as knowledge on the individual hygiene, environmental health and personal health. PKM was carried out in several stages: socialization with partners, community and related parties, training and workshop. The solutions offered by the PKM program include three main things: empowering local potentials, improving the quality of managers in healthy tourism management and improving the quality of human resources supporting tourism (surrounding residents). The three main activities will be carried out through community empowerment, training, workshops and infrastructure support. The targeted outputs of this PKM are: 1) the increase in partner assets, in this case, is 4 outbound vehicles that can be used without relying on the season, 2) increasing the health knowledge of the surrounding community, 3) publication in 2 national journals and 1 proceeding of local scientific meeting, 4) press releases in local media and, 5) videos.

Covid-19 has had a major impact on all aspects of life and in all fields. Since Covid-19 was declared a pandemic, there have been many impacts of Covid-19 and the most pronounced impact has been on the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) sector. The aim of this program is to provide counseling and training to increase entrepreneurial intentions in “Rise” SMEs in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. The target of this program is the people of Ngoro-Oro village who are members of UKM "Bangkit". The method used is in the form of counseling, training and direct practice (role play). Implementation of training for two days. The first day was in the form of counseling and entrepreneurial intention training which consisted of two sessions. The second day was the practice of processing local food ingredients into various types of food such as various kinds of chips (cassava chips, banana chips, spinach chips, etc.), various cakes such as bika and several types of brownies. The result of the program is that the community becomes aware of the concept of entrepreneurship, has the intention or desire to become entrepreneurial and has skills in processing local food ingredients into food products that have sale value

Malaria is a serious public health problem in Indonesia. This disease is one of several indicators that have been targeted by the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) 2015 to become Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In malaria-endemic areas such as in Kokap, Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta, reported malaria cases declined in 2000 with no case, but increased in 2011 following by some outbreaks in 2012. Future outbreaks could be avoided when health personnel including Primary Health Care (PHC) microscopists and entomologist surveyors were equipped with adequate trainings related to malaria. This training also be used for refreshment for existing personnel to support elimination at the Kokap I, Kokap II, and several nearby PHCs. In October 2013, the Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada carried out microscopic training and basic entomology related to malaria in the working area of PHC in Kokap. Training methods were giving material and direct activities in the field. The training provided basic entomology training, malaria microscopic training and malaria vector mapping using a Global Positioning System (GPS). The training facilitated PHC personnel to do correct identification of Plasmodium species, identification of old and new vector breeding sites, and found out how to map vector distribution and malaria cases in their area. The results showed that there was an increase in knowledge from PHC personnel who participated in the pre-test and post-test. From field activity, three adult mosquitoes species were found i.e. Anopheles vagus, An. annularis and An. maculatus. Nulliparous and parous mosquitoes from adult mosquito based on the examination of their tracheole skeins of ovarium were found from the collected mosquitoes although oocyst in midgut and sporozoite in salivary gland were not found during adult mosquito surgical. Similar trainings were expected to be applied in other similar areas in the future.
