Abstract

The frequency of examinations plays a crucial role in language teaching, serving as a key indicator of students' understanding of the material. This study aims to analyze the relationship between exam frequency and student achievement in English language learning within the context of online education. The research employs a quantitative approach using correlation analysis to investigate this relationship. Data were collected on the frequency of exams taken by students on the digital learning platform OpenLearning (OPL) and their final exam scores. The study involved a sample of first-semester students selected through random sampling to ensure unbiased representation. The findings reveal a significant positive correlation between exam frequency and student achievement, indicating that more frequent exams are associated with higher final exam scores. Additionally, an Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) confirms significant differences in student achievement based on exam frequency, with students experiencing higher exam frequencies performing better. These results suggest that frequent examinations can enhance learning outcomes by promoting consistent study habits, reducing exam anxiety, and providing regular feedback. The study's implications highlight the importance of integrating regular and frequent assessments in educational strategies to improve academic performance. Future research should explore the optimal frequency of exams and consider other variables such as exam difficulty and student engagement to develop comprehensive approaches for enhancing English language learning in online education environments.

Abstract

People with degenerative diseases require dietary and nutrient restrictions, necessitating the development of functional food products. This study aimed to develop gluten-free, high-fiber cookies using FiberCreme™, a commercial creamer containing oligosaccharides, as a substitute for coconut milk. Seventy-four non-trained panelists at the Sensory Laboratory of Universitas Gadjah Mada assessed the cookies using a 9-point Likert scale for attributes such as color, flavor, texture, and overall acceptance. The evaluation followed a randomized design. Sensory evaluation gave results that the level of chalky mouth coating and color uniformity of FiberCreme cookies and commercial cookies were not significantly different. Color, cheesy flavor, savory flavor, sweetness, hardness, and speed of melting in the mouth were not significantly different between FiberCreme and coconut milk cookies. Coconut milk products dominate in the attributes of density and color consistency, commercial items dominate in the attributes of melting speed and cheesy flavor, and FiberCreme cookies do not appear to dominate in any way but give close characteristics both with commercial and coconut milk cookies. Overall acceptance from the most liked were Commercial, FiberCreme and Coconut cookies respectively. These findings provide insights for the food industry in developing high-fiber functional cookies using FiberCreme™, potentially benefiting those with dietary restrictions.

Abstract

In the globalization era, companies must excel to compete effectively, and human resources play a critical role in organizational success. Human Resource Management (HRM) organizes individuals to drive positive change. This study examines the influence of work discipline and occupational safety and health (OSH) on employee productivity at PT Citacontrac Jakarta. It focuses on three variables: Work Discipline, OSH, and Work Productivity. Using Non-Probability Sampling and Saturated Sampling methods, all 60 employees of PT Citacontrac were included, making it a population study. The analysis employed t-tests to test three hypotheses. The results indicate that Work Discipline significantly and positively impacts Work Productivity (t-value = 2.908 > t-table = 1.295, p < 0.05), leading to the acceptance of H1. Similarly, OSH positively influences Work Productivity (p < 0.05), confirming H2. Finally, the combined effect of Work Discipline and OSH on Work Productivity was significant (t-value = 11.040 > t-table = 1.295, p < 0.05), supporting H3. These findings highlight the importance of enforcing work discipline and ensuring OSH to enhance productivity, emphasizing their collective and individual contributions to organizational success.
