Abstract

Low student self-confident will affect to the his/her development process in school. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral group counseling to increase self-confident of vocational high school students. The research design is one group pre-test – post-test design. The population is student’s X grade class at SMK Prshanti Nilayam Kuta. Determination of the sample using purposive sampling technique, in order to get 8 students as the sample. The data analysis using t-test. The results of this study showed that self-confident score was an increase after join in the group counseling activities. The results of hypothesis testing show that the value of t = 7,434 with a significance of 0.000 (<0.05) so that null hypothesis is rejected. These results indicate that group counseling with cognitive behavioral approach is effective to increase self-confident of vocational high school students.

Abstract

Pada pelaksanaan pembelajaran di kelas guru tidak menekankan pada aspek berpikir kritis dalam proses pembelajaran, ini dikarenakan kurangnya pengetahuan guru mengenai kemampuan berpikir kritis. Rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, maka perlu dikembangkan tes yang standar untuk menilai kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui proses pengembangan dan untuk mengetahui kualitas tes berpikir kritis yang dikembangkan untuk semester genap kelas V SD ditinjau dari validitas isi dan reliabilitas butir tes. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas V SD. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan menggunakan model 4D Thiagarajan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan metode pencatatan dokumen, observasi, dan lembar validasi ahli. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah instrumen tes kemampuan berpikir kritis. Metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji validitas isi dan uji reliabilitas instrument tes. Hasil uji validitas isi yang didapatkan sebesar 0,937, yang berada pada katagori sangat tinggi yaitu pada rentangan 0,80-1.00. Sedangkan hasil uji reliabilitas istrumen tes dioeroleh sebesar 0,92 dan berada pada katagori sangat tinggi yaitu berada pada rentangan 0,80-1,00. Hal ini berarti, tes kemampuan berpikir kritis yang dikembangkan dapat digunakan sebagai tes standar dalam  mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V pada tema delapan, sub-tema tiga.

Abstract

The readiness and mental challenges of health care front-liners are one of the big issues that need to be addressed by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) and also the Malaysian Board of Counselors (MBC). This is to ensure that all threats to health care front-liners can be overcome in order to streamline the duties of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia. Therefore, this study aims to understand the readiness and mental challenges of health front workers (Font liners) in facing the COVID-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative design with a case study approach. The study participants consisted of two medical officers and two nurses from the states of Johor and Sabah who had more than six months of experience in handling COVID-19 cases. Study data were obtained through semi-structured interview techniques. The findings state that there are two sub-theme codes from the mental readiness of health care front liners and four subtrahend codes from the mental challenges of health care front liners in facing the COVID-19 pandemic. Information from this study can be used by the MOH and MBC in dealing with the possible mental health issues of the health care front liner, post-COVID-19 in Malaysia.

Abstract

Kurangnya kemampuan guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran IPA yang menarik dan kurangnya memanfaatkan teknologi dalam pembelajaran. Hal tersebut berdampak pada siswa yang kurang berminat dalam mengikuti pembelajaran sehingga diperlukan media berupa video animasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sebuah video animasi dalam pembelajaran IPA materi perubahan suhu dan wujud benda yang telah teruji validitasnya pada siswa kelas V sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan yang menggunakan model ADDIE. Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah 1 ahli media pembelajaran, 1 ahli materi pembelajaran, 1 praktisi, 3 siswa untuk uji coba perorangan, dan 6 siswa untuk uji coba kelompok kecil. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu metode pencatatan dokumen yang berupa angket dan wawancara. Analisis data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Untuk mengukur tingkat kevaliditasan media video animasi menggunakan rumus skala likert Berdasarkan hasil yang telah diperoleh maka dapat dinyatakan bahwa media video animasi valid berdasarkan penilaian yang dilakukan oleh ahli media, ahli materi, praktisi, siswa uji coba perorangan dan siswa uji coba kelompok kecil memiliki persentase keseluruhan 90,16% dengan kualifikasi (sangat baik). Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka dapat diakini bahwa media video animasi yang dikembangkan dapat dikatakan layak digunakan dalam dalam pembelajaran IPA kuhususnya pada materi perubahan suhu dan wujud benda di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 menyebabkan pembelajaran dilaksanakan melalui pembelajaran daring. Permbelajaran daring menimbulkan berbagai masalah salah satunya motivasi belajar siswa menurun. Pembelajaran daring mengalihkan peran guru dan orang tua, orang tua lebih banyak berperan selama pembelajaran daring. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran orang tua dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa Sekolah Dasar pada pembelajaran daring. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian deskriptif-kualitatif. Subjek yang digunakan adalah siswa kelas V SD. Subjek tersebut dipilih karena dianggap mampu memberikan data yang dibutuhkan. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dokumentasi dan wawancara. Teknik pengolahan data yang digunakan adalah teknik kualitatif Creswell. Penelitian ini mendapatkan hasil beberapa cara orang tua dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa adalah dengan memberikan motivasi, mengontrol waktu belajar, menciptakan suasana yang mendukung, menyediakan waktu untuk terlibat, memantau perkembangan anak, dan memberikan penghargaan. Sedangkan, hambatan yang dirasakan orang tua dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa di antaranya adalah anak yang lelah dan jenuh, anak terlalu sering bermain game, dan anak tidak disiplin. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa orang tua memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa pada masa pembelajaran daring.

Abstract

Social anxiety is one of the psychological problems faced by most of students. Several research findings have revealed negative effects that arise due to the high level of social anxiety experienced by students. Based on this phenomenon, schools play a major role in efforts to minimize the level of social anxiety experienced by students through optimizing guidance and counseling services. This research and development aim at testing the acceptability and effectiveness a solution-focused brief counseling guidebook to minimize students' social anxiety. The development procedure using 4D steps, such as, define, design, develop, and desimination of the product. The amount five judgment involve to validating the contents of guidebook. For the piloting, one group pretest-post test experimental procedure involve 15 junior high school students. The data analysis for judgments results show that the counseling guidebook developed in this study has a special content validity index (CVI). Based on the results of the piloting study, counseling guidebook  a solution-focused brief counseling guidebook with the miracle question technique was effective in reducing students' social anxiety. The results of this study contribute to the optimization of guidance and counseling services in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the behavioral counseling model with modeling techniques to improve self-autonomy and self-endurance for senior high school students. This experimental study used a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. Through random sampling, 34 students were placed in the experimental group and 32 students were placed in the control group. Data collection used the main data collection method (questionnaire) and complementary data collection methods (observations, interviews, and diaries). The data were analyzed by One-way MANOVA. The results show that there are differences in self-autonomy and self-endurance in the experimental class and control class ( sig = 0.039). The results of Cohen D analysis showed a high level of effectiveness (ES = 0.8). These results prove that behavioral counseling with modeling techniques is effective for improving student’s self-autonomy and self-endurance.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate solution-focused brief counseling guidebook as an instrument to reduce student’s academic procrastination. This research and development conducted by following 4D model by Thiagarajan that consist four stages of development namely (1) define, (2) design, (3) development, and (4) disseminate. Five experts are involved as judges to evaluate the content validity of counseling guidebook. The piloting study were conducted in one group pretest-posttest design to evaluate the effectivity of counseling guidebook to reduce student’s academic procrastination. Result of expert judgments were analyzed using formula Lawshe and show that the counseling guidebook has “very special” content validity index ( CVI = 1). Based on the results of piloting study, it was reported that counseling guidebook developed in this study effective in decrease student’s academic procrastination levels. The results of this study contribute to the development of guidance and counseling services.

Abstract

The development of emotional intelligence is formed as a result of various aspects and one of them is through social interaction among the family. This study aims to see the trend or parenting style that can influence attitudes and emotions among clever students. The focus of this study is to identify the emotional problems and attitudes of clever students, as well as to identify parenting styles that affect the emotions and attitudes of clever students. This study was carried out following the hypothesis that there was no correlation between the emotional problems of the clever students and parenting style, and there is no correlation between the problems of the attitude of the clever students with the parenting style. This is a cross-sectional study, using a non-standard questionnaire built by the researcher, which researchers obtained information on parenting styles that influenced emotions and attitudes among clever students in three high-performance schools in Kuching, Sarawak. The population of the study involved 60 students of various levels from three outstanding academic achievers in Kuching, Sarawak, randomly selected. The implications from this study, parents will be able to see and explore every one of the parenting styles that will affect the emotions and attitudes of children, thus improving themselves in giving the best love for children.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting to the learning process in school. As an effort to reduce the spread of virus, all of learning activity now conducted via online. Various obstacles arise during the online learning. This new condition increase the level of student’s stress and requires students ready to make self-change. This study is research and development that aims to develop and evaluate the classical guidance module as an instrument to help students make self-change in order to reduce their stress. The development procedure conducted by following 4D model (Thiagarajan, 1974). Five expert involved as judges to evaluate the content validity of module and 30 students were involved as subject on piloting study. Results of expert judgement were analyzed using formula Lawshe and show the module has a “very special” content validity index ( CVI = 1). Results of piloting study show the module has “very good” category in all aspect of evaluation. Based on the results, it show that the classical guidance module developed in this study feasible to use as an instrument to help students make self-change in order to reduce their stress levels due to COVID-19.
